Current motto: I extremely prefer carrot to stick, even more when I would be required to apply it to others then when it is applied to myself.
But it seems the oposite applies to most of current systems of law, and most of current influential thinkers in the field of regulating anything...

Retired informaticist: application designer, programmer, tester and implementer, (computer operating and general) systems troubleshooter and administrator, malware detection and prevention contributor. Used (and mostly understood) several mainframe, some mini and several micro computer operating systems, including personal computers (list to be added later, if there is need). Can read, but am not fluent writing current Web languages.

Did several outdoors activities in any season and weather, had been reasonably good at several sports, currently voluntarily teaching sailing for several sailing clubs.

Interested in almost everything, know something about much, and got everything I know anything about linked together. And probably most significant, am aware of how much I don't know. Even when I know something (even a lot) about something, it is surely not everything, and even (hopefully only part of) that might be wrong.

Languages[edit]

Babel now works here as expected. Previous problem described on talk page. There are other - possibly not yet adressed - aspects around languages - a bit on that here.

There are some computer languages I used to use, but not the ones I see as immediately usefull at WMF SW, and some other natural languages I understand a bit (other romance, slavic and germanic, mostly about level one); IMO neither would be usefull to WP to be marked in babel yet.

Previous at wikipedia and reasons to join[edit]

Had spotted missing or incorrect data in several articles in Wikipedia (WP) and suggested corrections before joining as user.

When I was looking into WP about some things about computer HW architecture, I found some things wrong or poorly described, and when I wanted to mentionTom Shanly as a source where the previous editor should find clarification, I found out Wikipedia had no mention (or article) about him (even when his books were alreaday cited several times in WP as trusted source for IT HW stuff). To create a (good) article one has to be able to discuss things and for that one needs an account, so I created it. Ironically, I found out I cant't find WP trusted sources to base Tom Shanly article on (from notability confirmation on).

Troubleshooting policies[edit]

  • Troubleshooting verifiability principle - moved here.
  • Troubleshooting notability principle: Carter G. Woodson is now notable for successfully challenging the issue of black history not being notable. Bogo Grafenauer [sl] did something of the same about history and life of peasants (by WP criteria not notable people...) while teaching future historians in his part of Europe, but I have to add this part to his sl article first now when I have reliable sources.

What I'd like to keep in mind[edit]

I often move from device to device and can't always carry bookmarks or similar data. This is intended to keep WP/WM links I think shall need often. Contents increased and was moved to subpage Marjan Tomki SI/WP help etc. links.
