Why I Edited It[edit]

When you had your user page categorized in ”Mass hystera” and other categories, it showed up as an entry in for example en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Mass_hysteria which is not for user pages but for Wikipedia content. I happened to browse that list and noticed your user page, and I only removed the categories from it to keep it out of those lists. No harm meant! Bossk-Office 15:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Your edits to Template:Superherobox[edit]

Hello. Your recent edits to Template:Superherobox are distressing and have been reverted. Please understand that template changes should be made with consensus from a group and the fields you wish to add were not cleared. Furthermore, the field "relatives" was originally deleted as being misused and unneeded after a consensus was formed. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:05, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

How can anybody be distressed by a voice actor?

Based on your comments to my talk page, I fear you and many others may have misunderstood the purpose of this template. As worded best by a category, the "SHB" is a comic book infobox template. The fact that it is being used for anything else is both unfortunate and troubling to me. I'll mention this toi others immediately. Thank you. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 18:49, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Content is effectively secordary now. I'll explain that later. For moment, I'd just like to move this discussion to WP:CMC#Use of the SHB and for you to, perhaps, list some of the articles which use this template for characters outside of comics. Dvorak[edit]

Why did you rv my edit to DSK? I made it clear in my summary I wasn't finished. I was trying to add some code in bits: for me it was a complicated edit. I needed some time to finish these. Look if you wish at the latest entry to the Tools section, and the talk. It was quite legitimate.martianlostinspace 17:19, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, fair enough, not very idealistic words for a legitimate edit! But dare I say, is it not policy that bots and humans do not share accounts?martianlostinspace 20:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edit to this page? OK, the brackets were unbalanced, but the sensible thing to do would have been to correct that rather than unhelpfully revert--George Burgess 17:56, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

W.I.T.C.H. cast[edit]

Why in the world did you put a deletion note on W.I.T.C.H. cast page? I am not exactly finished working on that article and if you think there is no point for this article, I have had many requests for this article and last time I checked, majority rules minority. I am not finished and will have more about the cast after the charts are done. So stop having a vendetta against me and lets work to together as friends. December 21 2012[edit]

Hope you don't mind, but I've de-tagged that article and made it a redirect as there's already stuff about the end of the long count under Maya calendar#2012. I'd have redirected it there specifically but redirects to a tagged section don't seem to work. Hopefully the next time someone searches for "December 21 2012" (as people will, for the next six years, I suppose) they'll read the target article and not recreate the "December 21" etc one. Feel free to revert it to the speedy tagged version if you like! Cheers, Tonywalton  | Talk 16:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Cast Page[edit]

Don't worry, this page is going to be the only page with the cast list. I have also supported its mergance with the main page, and the cast on the character page will be gone as they are about the characters, not the real world behind the characters. It just takes time. Tyar 23:13, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

You've missed my point. Please see some of the conventions used for long running animated series.
perfectblue 09:54, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, you did not specify clearly. It the page gets deleted, it does not matter because I have saved it to Word and will just copy it back to the main page. Problem solved. Oh, and liked the Miranda page, but I just thought it was not needed because..., well like you said, to much W.I.T.C.H. pages. Of course you can try to stop its deletion, I am just saying it is not needed. When you said on the discussin, with the non-notable ones should just go, what do you mean by non-notable ones. I only put characters that were major or recurring (they might have had 1 speaking role, but they have appeared more than that, and the cast for that character, even if in 1 episode, is still the voice actor of a character that appears a few times. CCH Pounder as Kadma, she appears in 10 episode, but she only was voiced in 3 episodes. Tyar 14:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I personally don't think that character pictures are needed. If you want pictures (which you would have to get yourself since I can't upload any on my computer) you should make a page of pictures. Yes, I know that is an extra W.I.T.C.H. page but I really don't care about pictures, so I am leaving all that up to you. Tyar 15:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I DO[edit]

I do have my old talk pages stored, just not here and not in a place anybody but me could access. The only reason my T-borg conversations are still there I use them as resources. Don't ask me how (not trying to be rude there). Tyar 19:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I DO[edit]

You told me to put it on the talk page, so I did. I have my own reasons for not showing them to the public and no they are not on Wikipedia. I won't tell you why, but here is a hint (I am not joking)= my family made $11,000 in the mail today. My security must be secure because those discussions have clues of my identity. Tyar 20:59, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I already know that, and I have not threatened anyone (or you using it as an example?). You have started all conversations on my talk page, so I would have to reply to you? How? Don't know you email adress (its not that I want to) so how do I contact you? I know about the history on them, but that doesn't reveal that much. Actually, there is only one word in the discussion that could give away my identity. That is still one way. So how about we start pesterizing each other and have a brand new start as friends to each other when it comes to W.I.T.C.H. pages? Tyar 21:17, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

OKAY! (When I said start pesterizing, I meant stop). Tyar 15:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

List of W.I.T.C.H. characters (TV show) pics[edit]

I just wanted to thank you for the added images, the article really needed them! But, I'm not sure on this one - shouldn't we use images from the actual series, or from the comic books? --May the Edit be with you, always. T-borg (drop me a line) 17:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

O, so that's it! Ok, around Christmas I'll try to provide images of the characters from the animated series. (in my previous comment, I was simply confused if images from the comic books are suitable for the article on the animated series' characters) --May the Edit be with you, always. Malicious claims[edit]

Regarding your edit comment when you deleted your own thread on Wikipedia talk:Vandalism: I don't think you understood the point, which isn't that "fake vandalism claims are taboo". The point is that talk pages exists only for discussion about their associated articles, nothing more. Threads on any subjects unrelated to the article are taboo. However, the last person to reply to you was wrong in saying there's no appropriate forum for your thread on Wikipedia. If you had started the thread in Wikipedia:Village pump (miscellaneous), then I doubt anyone would have objected. =Axlq 15:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

MA Userbox[edit]

Today, there was a merger of Category:Martial Artist Wikipedians into Category:Wikipedian martial artists. This resulted in a userbox {{User:TonyTheTiger/Userboxes/Martialartist}} being added to the category. This userbox is available to you. TonyTheTiger 21:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

A very minor request[edit]

When you sign your posts on talk pages, would you mind not putting your signature on a separate line? A separate line lengthens the post (typically, by two lines) and is distracting (to some people, at least). Thanks. -- John Broughton ☎☎ 04:45, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Second request. Apparently, once you finish your comments on a talk page, you're hitting the [Enter]] key several times to create a new paragraph, then typing four tildes for your signature. Would you mind not doing those unnecessary [Enter]s and just type four tildes after the last sentence of your comment. -- John Broughton (☎☎) 04:51, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Ichigo's age[edit]

Ichigo can't be 11, because even in Tokyopop manga, she is described as a seventh grader, which means she is 12-13, not 11. In the first volume of the original manga, she is said to be in the first year of middle school, which is the equivalent of the seventh grade. In the anime, she is also described as a seventh grader, and as being 13 years old. The grade is the same, so there can't be any age difference. Yume no Kishi

Oh, I know what confused you... She says not "juuichi", she says "chuu-ichi", which means "first year (ichi) of the middle school (chuu)". So, her age (13) does match. Yume no Kishi

I once wrote about it at Tokyo Mew Mew discussion, but it's now archieved, so you may want to read this stuff, too... Yume no Kishi

I've copied a part of the discussion with this stuff on Ichigo's talk page. I believe this explanation is pretty clear. Yume no Kishi

I am reading. I know about the differences, but if you look just at her Japanese grade, and then compare her to Usagi, you'll see what I mean. If Tokyopop counted her age from her grade, wouldn't it be more correct to change her grade, not age? According to her Japanese grade, she is still 12-13 in the manga. Yume no Kishi

In case that confused you, I only use the terms "middle school" and such when I'm speaking about Japanese school standards:

Elementary - grades 1-6;

Middle - grades 7-9;

High - grades 10-12.

And when I say "7th grade", I'm referring to the year of studying, if we count them straight. Yume no Kishi

Anyway, if you let alone the "grade" thing, Ichigo is still in the first year of middle school by Japanese standarts, which means she is a year younger than Usagi Tsukino, who is 14. ^_^;; So she still can't be 11... Yume no Kishi

I've looked at that translation, it says: "7th grade (first year of middle school by Japanese standards)". The Japanese do not count years of studying, like I did.
...Seriously, I never thought that somebody can be confused by this... ^_^; And you mentioned the "chuu-ichi" thing from the anime... did you watch the original episodes without subtitles? Because fansubs translated this correctly, as "7th grade"... Yume no Kishi

We included that in the TE section because it is one of the things that confuse people. Ichigo's age explanation in her article got deleted several times, because some people still trust Tokyopop's translations. And you can't imagine how many webpages I've seen with statements that the character's ages are different in the manga and the anime, when it's actually not true. (Besides, it's just strange: if she is 11-12 in the 7th grade, wouldn't it mean that she started going to school at the age of 5?..) And please, before deleting something, ask me or Angelofdeath275 on our talk pages: some things in the TE section just need to be rewritten so that the explanation will be more clear. And please, don't get angry when I don't understand something: it's already night where I live, so I'm a bit sleepy and slow... Also, the TE section has already been deleted entirely so many times that I usually can get... a bit nervous, if somebody deletes something from it. Yume no Kishi

--

I'll just waltz in...the TE section is composed if translation errors. Ichigo's age has to be an error. If she is described as 13 in both the Japanese version of the manga and anime, why is she desribed as 11 in the English version of the manga? If she is 11 in 7h grade, she would have to skip a grade, which us unlikely.

The TE section is also composed of mistakes made my Tokyopop and fans. Since it was mistake for Ichigo to be described as 11, fans have also made this mistake, causing debates. I've come across many fansites describe either as 11, 12 and 13.

The main article is mainly used to address the issues in the TE section. Plus, the main article is seen more by fans then any other article. Then the sections from the TE section are added to the appropiate articles. "THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED!" 23:10, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Yep, and there are people who just change stuff without reading the info from other articles or talk pages. The stupidest edit is of course "Kirema Anima": they just see that the word is written like this, and change it, and delete the explanation, thinking that Tokyopop's translation is correct... *laughs* yes they think so, even though the word "Kirema" doesn't exist... Yume no Kishi

I told you, it's not only the "middle school" thing. If Ichigo was 11-12 in the 7th grade, it would mean she started studying at the age of 5, which is just ridiculous. So it is still a mistake made by Tokyopop. Even if they wanted to change her age, they should have at least changed her grade, too, so in that case it's still a translation error, as her age does not match her grade. If they messed up with "middle school" thing, it just indicates that they did not know about Japanese school standards. The mistake can very easily be spotted by anyone. And there is a link to that "7th grade" article, where the ages are shown.

Besides, I myself was confused by this mistake, too. I was looking at random TMM sites that say that she is 11 in the manga, and I thought that the creators of the anime changed the characters' ages for some reason... And then I found out that she is still in the seventh grade in the manga, and I went: "OMG... how can she be 11 in the seventh grade? is she a genius or something?", and then I found the translation that confirmed her grade and understood that it was a mistake.

And if there is anything that is OR, it'll be soon or later deleted by admins (who are only concerned about the "ribbon/reborn" mistake), so you don't have to just delete it without real reason and call it silly just because you don't understand what we're talking about. Yume no Kishi

Before we included this thing in the TE section, Ichigo's age in the main article was getting changed very often. People who edit this do not even read the TE section, so I don't think they would bother to read something in another article. That's why we're keeping it there. I myself was confused by this thing at first, so I know. Yume no Kishi

And seeing how you were confused at first, too, and tried to justify the 11-year-old thing on the talk page for Ichigo's article, even though it has an explanation, too... you know why other people delete this thing. And if anything, the OR banner is there because of the "reborn" mistake, not because of this one. And you obviously did not read what Angelofdeath275 wrote here: the TE section includes any translation errors that are found in the manga, and Ichigo's age is one of them, so it is an appropriate place. Yume no Kishi

I'm not relying only on fansubs, since I actually know a little Japanese, too. I made a note in the TE section, that the age was possibly changed on purpose, but since Tokyopop kept a refernce to her grade the same instead of changing it to match Ichigo's new age, it still can be count as a translation error. Yume no Kishi

Besides. Remember how I said that there are many sites that say about the age difference? Well, these people don't know that it was changed in the translation, so they think that it is a difference between the original manga and anime. Because of this, different theories appear: that the characters' ages were changed in the anime because the manga creators rewrote the story to adapt it for the anime version and such. Ichigo does not even look like an 11-year-old, IMHO. Yume no Kishi

I think I'll show you one citation from a TMM fansite...

AGE; 11 in manga, 12 in anime [sic]
GRADE; 7

Notice that the ages are different, but the grade is the same... that is what I'm talking about. And the anime never says she's 12 either: she introduces herself as 13 from Episode 12, and even if she was still 12 before this episode, it is never mentioned.

It'll be good to find a picture from the original manga that shows her age reference. She probably was introduced as a 12-year-old at the beginning of the manga, but it's still not 11. Yume no Kishi

And for the last time, I'm not arguing about her age either. Since it is a (very confusing) mistake anyway, it does belong here. Angelofdeath275 already stated it here. And this "being born before April" thing doesn't really work in the manga stories. I can give at least two examples from "Sailor Moon", if you wish. Yume no Kishi

And if you look at that page now, you'll see that I've removed a reference to the other Mews' ages... Yume no Kishi

OK, let me now explain why there was so much arguing. What did you do?

  • Removed the section two times without any explanation (for the first time), called it OR for no real reason and called it silly;
  • Did not explain properly why didn't you like the explanation. Used the "juuichi" thing even with kanji. I know about this "April 1st" thing, BTW (and I must say that in "Sailor Moon" it didn't work; can give examples);
  • Continued arguing about the TE section after Angelofdeath275 explained why we keep the info here.

Instead, you should have made a topic on the talk page for the main article, since it kinda became our headquarters, and explain properly what was wrong, before deleting anything. We'd have analyzed the case and think about how to put the info in better words.

Yume no Kishi

RE: Lettuce's Age[edit]

Calm down already, I removed the reference to her age long ago. ^_^;;; We did notice this, but it still doesn't affect the fact that one can't be 11 in the 7th grade. Yume no Kishi

Yeah, we could find a pic... but seeing how I don't have even translated manga (the main reason for this being that I'm not American), I guess I can't be of any help... I'm trying to find something on the Internet, though. And if it was a mistake in the original manga, then Tokyopop didn't notice it. Yume no Kishi

There aren't much scans from the original manga on the Internet... and also, such things are usually stated somewhere at the end of the volumes, after the chapters, so these pages are rarely scanned (I believe Ichigo's age could be on the back cover of the first volume). We need to find some person who has the Japanese manga, and can scan it for us. Also, such notes are usually written by hand and are kinda hard to read...

Off-Topic: I was watching random TMM episodes... apparently, these jellyfish-like creatures are called "Parasite Aliens" in the Japanese version. I can't say about the manga, but in the anime, episode 4, Quiche does call this thing "Parasite Alien"... and in the article, it is said they have this name only in the English manga... should this be corrected?..

Personal question[edit]

I hope you don't mind, but I noticed your userboxes that say you speak Chinese and that you're homesick, I was just wondering if you were living in the United States and what your background was? I was going to email you privately, but I don't think you have email enabled - you can write me at <removed email address> if you like! Dreadlocke 02:33, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for protecting my email address. Actually, there's no personal information in it, I created it specially for use on Wikipedia. Many editors do that so they can email without sending any personal information or identifiers. I wouldn't put my own personal email address in either, so I understand where you're coming from. Thanks for the excellent answer, I get it! You can delete this whole section if you like. I'm happy to be editing with you, you are a very fine editor. Dreadlocke 18:14, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
I love the Chinatown where I used to live. I lived in NYC for fifteen years (Manhattan). When my brother was visiting me, he and I would always make a pilgrimage to his favorite restaurant, Wo-hop on Mott Street, the best hot & sour soup in town! I miss New York; Florida is quite a different culture! (This stuff is ok to leave, I've already identified myself as a Floridian with user boxes!) I lived in California for a while too, the Chinatown there was magnificent - well, it was many moons ago when I was there. I'm getting old...;) Dreadlocke 22:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
