Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GB Christmas Aerogram.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GB Christmas Aerogram.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:13, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Biology prefixes & suffixes[edit]

Hi. I've just discovered that -phyte, phyto- etc. have been moved to wiktionary. I've no problem with that decision, however, I'd like to check that all of the relevant data from the source articles have been transferred appropriately. I don't appear to be able to find the original articles here, or there, or at Transwiki, however. Would you be able to help me track them down. Thanks SP-KP (talk) 13:57, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for Phyto. I think I've tracked down the editor who transwikied -Phyte, so I'll ask him/her about that one. SP-KP (talk) 16:37, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Jeff, Someone has "tagged" this with a personal note, "hiya nerds". This needs to be corrected, but I don't know how to edit this. Can you help?Fconaway (talk) 03:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Email[edit]

I have sent you an email; a response would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time, Knepflerle (talk) 13:19, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

I have sent a further email, as I still require outside assistance - any you can provide will be much appreciated. It may be worth speaking to User:Gauss at en.wikt. Thanks in advance. Knepflerle (talk) 18:48, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Content site[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Content site, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Content site is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Content site, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Sister links[edit]

Just a friendly FYI: links to Wikiversity (and similar items) belong in the last section of an article, ideally under ==External links== if such a section exists, but otherwise in whatever the last section is. WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:33, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, wassup with that[edit]

Hey brud, why you be blockin' our school IP address from editing on Wiktionary. It ain't nice. So what if i was writing on my friend's user page. What is the problem with that? I am going to report you and get your account suspended on Wiktionary if you do not revoke the block. My friend Bulldog180 allowed me to use his talk page. You have no right to block the school from editing and you need to talk to Bulldog180 or me if you have ANY issue with us because this is unreasonable and shouldn't have happened

Unblock request from Wiktionary posted over here[edit]

Just a note: A Wiktionary user who says you blocked him there has posted an unblock request here. I declined it, but is there a way this can be made known to other WIKT sysops for review? He doesn't seem to want to email you. Daniel Case (talk) 09:36, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Wiktionary unblock request[edit]

I dont know why I have been blocked, apparently by yourself (? User:SemperBlotto), from editing a Wiktionary entry. The word was "suck", and I was intent on adding a derived term "suck up" which action seems reasonable to me as I did not find the term in the article. The message was that you blocked ip address 62.30.249.131 which is not me (I am 82.43.177.219 User:p0mbal), and I have never spammed promotional material: therefore two things mistaken. What has happened is totally mystifying to me, and "random" as they say. A little about me. I have never before tried to edit a Wiktionary page, though I have edited well over 100 articles in Wikipedia - I have over 100 in my watch list. I have enormous interests, having added at least 50 articles just on the music of Edward Elgar and countless varied others including starting pages on among many my cousin French Resistance fighter Agnes Humbert, my aunt Jane Drew, Ricard Lamote de Grignon, and Holloway Sanatorium, and even some edits to French Wikipedia pages. My interest are music (playing and composing), ancestry, various European languages, and everything. I have no commercial interest. P0mbal (talk) 23:34, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Handle with Care (album)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Handle with Care (album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Sampler without notability; no notability is even asserted, and the only content is the track listing.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
