If you look at Wikipedia:Vandalism#Blanking, illegitimate, you will find it defined as "removing encyclopedic content without any reason" and that it is "not considered to be vandalism ... where a non-frivolous explanation for the removal of apparently legitimate content is provided, linked to, or referenced in an edit summary". My edit summaries contain explanations of my edits, namely the argument that the same information should not be presented twice, and nobody who stops to think for a second would call that vandalism.
