Please help me with... I am an autoconfirmed editor, but Wikipedia is not letting me edit pages marked as semi-protected. I've thoroughly searched through my notifications, but haven't found any reason why this is happening to me. 888888jdog 22:55, 25 February 2018 (UTC)888888jdog
I'm trying to add a section on the Vine (service) page that talks about notable vines that gained popularity and went viral.
- Well I don't see why you shouldn't be able to edit the page. Are you getting any specific error messages? In any case, editing it for that reason doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Random facts like that is not really what we are looking for in a summary style encyclopedia entry. If you do want to include such things please start a conversation on the article's talk page, Talk:Vine (service), to see what other people think about it. --Majora (talk) 23:19, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
I don't know if this is a glitch or anything, because I'm relativley new to Wikipedia, but unless I switch to mobile view, it will not allow me to edit semi-protected articles. I'm wondering if there is any forum where I can report this type of error.

Speedy deletion nomination of List of 2004 Songs[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on List of 2004 Songs, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at articles for deletion. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) A belated welcome[edit]
Hi 888888jdog. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.
Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

Oxford University typos edit[edit]
Hi, I reversed your edit because you made a lot of changes, many of which were unnecessary or incorrect. For example in the Students section, you changed own to unique and after life to the afterlife in a quote, which should not be changed as they reflect nineteenth century British English. You also changed per cent, which is British usage, to percent. I have reposted the corrections which I thought were necessary. TSventon (talk) 02:12, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
Poor edits[edit]
I recently came across your edits to Catholic University of America. Unfortunately, many of them were very poor: you removed words from a direct quotation, altered meaning in wrong ways, broke subject-verb agreement, etc. Moreover, you did this under a false edit summary "(typos)". Similarly: this is not a typo, it's a standard construction in written English; this was not a typo but was the result of vandalism that you should have reverted (I've done that now); this broke the grammar; and this had sufficiently many errors ("shot-put" (compare shot put), inserting "for" that changed the meaning, inserting commas incorrectly) and sufficiently few mitigating positive features that I've reverted it. Please stop using inappropriate edit summaries, and please don't do this kind of gnomish copyediting unless you can do a much better job of it. --JBL (talk) 14:51, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
Sand Island, Oregon[edit]
I am curious why you made this edit. Clearly Sand Island is not the northernmost location of the state. Did you get it confused with something else?
