The article was a stub. I am editing and cleaning it up. I am a man and not a bot. I am undoing the revert.

What is it that's causing the alarm? How do I ensure that I am not mistaken as a bot? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.227.207.12 (talk) 03:26, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I already undid the revert, Instead I've chosen to tag it as per verifiability with virtually no sources. The tag is dated June 2008. If you're editing the page, that's fine but be sure to add sources. Once you done that, you can remove the tag. Thanks. --Eric (mailbox) 03:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, I would recommend you create an account so you can edit Wikipedia with a user name instead of your IP address. It is much more efficent for editors so we can establish your contributions. If you have followed the steps on creating an account, you can notify me here so I can process your request and approve it. Thanks. --Eric (mailbox) 03:40, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah. I am actually planning to add the citation once I am done. Created an account. Username AlAlpai. Please do approve it. Thanks. -AlAlpai, from 22022720712

July 2008

Hi, I noticed that my comments were "not constructive". I found these videos online chronicling the history and culture of Chinatown based on personal narratives and interviews. Do you mind giving me some advice on how to make this information more constructive?

Thank you!

Waverider808 (talk) 03:28, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Sure, I posted the basic information in regards to editing on the top of your user's talk page. Read over the instructions and information on contributing to Wikipedia. Most likey the reason your edits were reverted by several Recent Changes patrollers was becuase the way they were written and incorrectly placed in the article. If you're interested in that topic, you can create a section in that article in regards to it and then properly cite the source you included. --Eric (mailbox) 03:41, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Rated R...

My comment was not to take sides; when you hear a radio ad for an R-rated movie, the announcer "always" says "under 17 not admitted without parent", which technically is true; however, a child under 17 can be admitted if attending with a GUARDIAN. I feel that since radio ads virtually always leave this out, it should be mentioned in the article, perhaps reworded. In no way is this meant to be vandalism. 216.179.123.145 (talk) 21:50, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I believe information like that should not be included in the article. It is irrelevant. Also, your edit was not reverted due to vandalism. Your edit did not follow Wikipedia's editing guidelines and was removed for that reason. --Eric (mailbox) 22:09, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Careful with Huggle

You restored vandalism here. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 00:35, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, I think it was becuase it removed content with out any explaination to why. However, when I look at the current revision the text in my revert is still there. Infact, it was reverted back to mine several times by another user before it was protected by an administrator. If the vandalism you believe to be is there, than by all means remove it. I'm not too sure who is in the right here. --Eric (mailbox) 07:25, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
You're mistaken that it's still there - it hasn't been since I removed it with this edit. As for not being sure who was in the right, the text you restored included was nothing more than a lengthy string of insults about the quality of the strip. I can't imagine that you read that text and were left unsure who was in the right - did you? Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:41, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
No, I only read part of the text. I see now that I fully read it. I guess me and the other people who put it back were in the wrong. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will pay more attention to non-blatant vandal edits. Ciao. --Eric (mailbox) 07:45, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
That's all I ask. Happy editing, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:45, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Not withstanding the tone above, the message is correct. If you're going to accuse someone of something, please identify specificly, so they'll have the slightest clue what you're talking about, eh? If they did something to an article, say which article, for instance. WilyD 19:59, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I sent the wrong template to the wrong user becuase there was a edit conflict when I was trying to restore the db-club tag and someone else already got to it. It would seem that the reverts and templates go through almost simataneously. Anywho, the tag was removed from your user page. Ciao! --eric (mailbox) 00:11, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, A3RO. You have new messages at Chetblong's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

No mistake

The subject matter deleted had nothing to do with the Peace Corps. It's relivance, I determined, was directed towards a positive-only article (approaching propaganda). The entire article stinks of thorough editing done by biased hands. I simply opted to rebalance.

Also, the sections not relating to the Peace Corps should have their own article, as they are not a representation of "Peace Corps."

Reposted in "talk" as to explain. Personally, my computer had troubles before I could write anything. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eristics (talkcontribs) 03:36, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Erstics, it's not Wikipedia policy to abruftly remove plausible material from an article without stating why, for future reference please state the reason in edit summary. In this case, as per non WP:NPOV would of been appropriate. Established editors might revert your edits in the future if you do not state the reason you edited the article. Also, if you feel any material in any articles are biased do not remove it, tagging the article and discussing it on it's talk page would be more nessecary or simply re-write the section or article removing any "biased" wording appropriately. By the way, I left some some information on the top of your user page, please take a look over it has it includes Wikipedia's policy and guidlines to editing. Thanks and happy editing! --eric (mailbox) 04:57, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: Please be careful when approving accounts

Hello, and I am sorry if I should not have approved that account, but can you tell me which account is too similar to Joyzheng88? Also, I saw that the IPs vandalism edits were in February which was five months ago, so I assumed good faith. But once again, I am sorry. Artichoker[talk] 00:53, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

It's okay! :) This account is too similar to the current request. Just me, but I don't feel comfortable giving accounts to any IPs that have basically nothing but vandalism in their editing history all the way back to 2005 but I can't deny on that basis. The main reason is the name as per stated in the denial reason I e-mailed to the requestee. --eric (mailbox) 00:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see the user account Joyzhang. When I click the "List" link, it displays all of the users alphabetically starting with Joyzheng88, and I can't think of an easy way to view users that come before Joyzheng88 alphabetically other than starting at the beginning and going through hundreds of pages. Do you know of an easier way? In any case, thank you for the heads up. Artichoker[talk] 01:04, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
That list is very helpful but when I see dispositions in the history I run a user account name check on the web site to see if any matches come up in the search and that name did. Just type the name of the user in format of User:XXXX to see a list of similar or some what similar names. You'll see some people try to request an account similar to other people's name by changing the letters into numbers or by just adding numbers, which was the case here. Anyways, you're welcome and happy editing! Ciao :-) --eric (mailbox) 01:11, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Wait, where on the website do I type in the name? I tried it in the search bar and nothing came up. Artichoker[talk] 01:14, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes in the search bar is correct, manually. Just type "User: Joyz" and you'll see the user name in the expanded box below. --eric (mailbox) 01:17, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
OH ok, thanks. Happy editing, Artichoker[talk] 01:20, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Ciao. ;-) --eric (mailbox) 01:22, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

What

How coud you acuse me of vandaising when it wasn't?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darth Genusus (talkcontribs) 11:13, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, please do not edit articles if you are not familiar with the writing standards and guidelines. Both of your edits were reverted has vandalism, even though I undid it once. However, I am going to leave some information on your talk page so you can understand how to edit on Wikipedia. Thanks! --eric (mailbox) 21:37, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

I could not resist after the recent controversy re: the mayor. if you havent heard http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5g5zehtbYAg8-lmtMrstCGmSA_A9gD920R2SO1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.73.208.95 (talk) 22:25, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

That edit you made IS vandalism. If you feel that material must be included, do it in a professional manner by writing a section in the article about it, do not just add HOMOSEXUAL randomly next to his name. Read Wikipedia's writing guidelines and add the info. to the article, PROPERLY CITING THE SOURCE! Then your edits wont be reverted, especially if it is news, then you are good. Ok? Thanks! --eric (mailbox) 22:29, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darth Genusus (talkcontribs) 10:35, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I've notice that your reverting my edits

Do you know why your doing that??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by FuturestarMatt (talkcontribs) 00:40, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Of course I know why I am doing that, your edits constitute vandalism. Wikipedia is not a place to boast your work or web sites. Sorry, WP is not a social network. --eric (mailbox) 00:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: WWE

Shelton Benjamin won, (according to the report I read, I didn't actually see it) Yes, I think protection is a good idea, but I re-instated the fact the Benjamin won anyway, because until the protection comes through the page is going to be hit a lot anyway. It's best to just write down the champion, and let the IPs struggle over the wording. ;) ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 00:49, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not going to edit it anymore unless someone blatantly vandalises it again or I come across it on my Huggle check. I ocassionally watch wrestling when I can but thanks for telling me who won, I prefer Shelton too. Hopefully that protection kicks in soon. Anyways, ciao. Happy editing! --eric (mailbox) 00:53, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

RE: TGN NPOV

Thank you for realizing that. That is precisely why there is not an article for our TGN yet. All draft versions are obviously slanted and resemble advertising. An entry on a disambiguation page cannot be construed as advertising or a violation of NPOV as it is solely a definition. Feel free to change it or recommend changes to it that would suit your liking more thoroughly.

Thank you for your work here at WP. --CaptainKirk2000 (talk) 23:08, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Well sure it can't be if there is a link to the article on the disamb. page. I'm not familiar with TGN, nor have I ever heard of it, but if you are, which I believe started the conflict of interest between you and that other person, you might want to create the page first, with the proper sources. I was just noticing the reverts you and that other user were doing right after each other, hehe, putting it back up and taking it off. I hope you two came to a consesus and were able to figure out what to do. Good luck in the mediation! Ciao! Happy editing! --eric (mailbox) 23:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

July 2008

Please don't add SDTs to article that haved already been tagged. That page was already flagged for deletion per copyright vio. there is no need to pile one multiple tags. Thanks --eric (mailbox) 05:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

The CorenSearchBot notice is not a speedy deletion tag. 206.116.63.240 (talk) 05:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
The article is tagged and will most likey be deleted becuase of it. If it a copy and paste then allow the creator time to correct the problem don't hastly put deletion tags on it, give them a chance to correct the problem. The article was just created. --eric (mailbox) 05:44, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
An article that is a candidate for speedy deletion is still liable to be speedy deleted whether or not a bot has posted an unrelated concern that is not a speedy deletion tag. CorenSearchBot's notice says "Hey, there *might* be something up here, come check it out" to anyone who is looking; a SDT says "Hey, there *is* something wrong here, delete the article as soon as you can!" to admins who are monitoring the categories made up of speedy candidates. The latter, by definition, has already had human scrutiny by the time a deletion-minded admin comes along. Important distinction, and one that makes retagging articles visited by CorenSearchBot important and appropriate. 206.116.63.240 (talk) 06:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
I removed both tags and put a speedy deletion tag of copyright infringment. The bot just made it easier for me to copy and paste the URL. Your tag was irrelevant. You should still allow the user some time to fix the problem if they choose too in a case like that, otherwise yes, adding a speedy was appropriate... and yes, I have seen articles deleted shortly after that bot has tagged the articles. It is a very valuable tool. Happy editing! Ciao. --eric (mailbox) 06:40, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

You won't even respond to me?

Nice.

Excuse me? --eric (mailbox) 06:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, you deleted one of my edits and sent me a pre-made message. I responded and asked why my edit constituted vandalism, and my question was deleted. If you would, please answer my question. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.199.15.153 (talk) 12:54, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

No it wasn't deleted, it was over-written becuase you were edit conflicting my page when other people were trying to post, including me. You edit was changed becuase you made two different posts that was already reverted by someone else. Hi

I think you are mistaken, as I was not altering the form of British. I was labelling the Maltese equivalent as such. Cheers. 78.146.213.236 (talk) 09:53, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello, you changed a word from the article's title to another different type of word, shown here. Please do not change the wording in the article than that of the title. Also, the message I sent to you was not about British english but displayed an example that different kinds of English have different writing for it. Thanks ----eric (mailbox) 09:56, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
According to the naming conventions, should we not move the article name to the English one? 78.146.213.236 (talk) 09:58, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
No, most of the time they are redirected, it saves time. The name of the article is Qormi not Curmi. It is best if it is the English variant that it stays in the article, since you don't have an account you can't create an article to redirect the page to that one. ----eric (mailbox) 10:02, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Is Qurmi not the English variant and not the Maltese word? ----eric (mailbox) 10:03, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I could make an account... And the official English equivalent is "Curmi". [1] 78.146.213.236 (talk) 10:05, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm, are you writing Curmi becuase it's the pronounciation of it? That is not neccesary. You are more than happy to edit the article and add a Etymology section with the different pronounciations or even mention it briefly in the beginning but that first word has to stay becuase that is the title of the article and pronounciation is irrelevant. I think I understand what you are meaning now. Also, I would recommend that you did set up an account so you can establish your edits. It makes it much easier. Happy editing! Ciao! ----eric (mailbox) 10:16, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
No no that's not what I mean. The English spelling of the word is different from the Maltese one. The Maltese spell it Qormi, while the English is "Curmi". It is like "London" (English) and "Londres" (French) - the French wikipedia does not use the native name (London), but their French equivalent. Hope that makes it clearer. 78.146.213.236 (talk) 10:25, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Ohhh okay! I see now. Yes, the title is the Maltese version, although I don't know why the creator didn't also make a page for redirection for the English spelling, must of forgot or didn't bother. Anywho, this is what I'll do. Following Wikipedia's editing guideline, I will create an article with the title of Curmi with a redirection to the created article. That should make things easier. It is customary to keep inclusion in writing the article the specific title of the article and not use a whole bunch of other words when including material. Anyways, thank you for telling me this considoring I don't understand a lick of Maltese. Thank you. Happy editing! :-D ----eric (mailbox) 10:32, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

I Don't Kow

Hey I Don't Why Your Trying To Delete emc X's Page? What Its The Problem Everything it's true

While it may be true, Wikipedia is a world-wide encyclopedia. On that note, we can only allow articles about notable people. Wikipedia is not a place where you can promote yourself or your band. Sorry. Per notability guidelines, your article mets the speedy deletion critera. While I am led to believe that this article is infact about you, a personal page, I can only go by the critera for article creation. This decision will be based on an administrator and he/she will make the final decision. In the meantime, don't take any tags off that I or anyone else placed on it or else you could be blocked from editing. Thanks. ----eric (mailbox) 18:09, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Look at the reason why. It is poorly written. It's just a paragraph of rambling, not the mention the link does not redirect to a source about the subject. Anywho, the decision will lie with an administrator unless you wish to contest it. Thanks. --eric (mailbox) 04:22, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Wow man.

Dude, you are really on top of things. My edits were made in good faith, based in many cases on first-hand reports from 1960s era principals (e.g., David Gerrold, Ruth Berman, members of the Star Trek Welcommittee) and my own early fan efforts (my boyhood club, Where No Fan Has Gone Before, was mentioned in numerous 1970s/1980s books and magazine articles on Star Trek fandom).

I really do not know when fandom became an insular subculture closed to the outside. But in my day, it was open to all for discussion, debate, and acceptance of ALL PERSPECTIVES (IDIC?), not simply ideological reductions that do not reflect the truth or the facts of the matter. That's why it was so popular with the general public. I guess those days are gone and that's why the new movie needs a "reboot" to reach the mainstream again. I suppose that's threatening to some. I should have trod more lightly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeames (talkcontribs) 04:19, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

You really need to read over Wikipedia's editing guidelines and the position it takes on nuetrality of articles. Considor yourself lucky for being unbaned, you are the first I've seen been cleared of a ban. Don't continue to edit articles if you are not familiar with Wikipedia's Manual of Style, it will really help if you read over it first. Thanks. --eric (mailbox) 04:25, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Well done

Nice catch on the Prince William article. You gotta admit, though, that was one of the funnier bits of vandalism in recent memory... Prince of Canada t | c 04:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

LOL, yeah lookin' at it now. I seen it all. Haha. --eric (mailbox) 04:37, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Hehehehee. Funny thing, if s/he'd been a little less over the top, it might have passed for a while... Prince of Canada t | c 04:43, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah man, which is disturbing becuase I see IPs taking vandalism out of articles that have had it for days, but oh well. There is only so much you can prevent. :-D --eric (mailbox) 04:45, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
True. Sad, isn't it? I try to keep an eye on what I have on my watchlist, but that's only ~80 articles out of 2MM. I really never will understand the mindset of people who vandalize anything. Prince of Canada t | c 04:47, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Mmhmm, I guess it makes them feel rebelious, even though I have a rebelious attitude myself but not on Wikipedia, LOL. The rushhh! Haha. Yup. --eric (mailbox) 04:49, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Rebellious is one thing. Destruction for the sake of destruction? I just don't get it. Makes me sad, more than anything, really. Prince of Canada t | c 04:52, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Awww, :-). Yes, I agree with you. --eric (mailbox) 04:53, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Why so slow?

Is it me or is Wikipedia going like I was on dial-up? I took me 2 minutes to open up an old revision on a talk page and not to mention that I keep getting Wikimedia Foundation error messages and 'database locked' templates when I try to edit pages. I surely hope it's not me. eric (mailbox) 20:50, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Informal Mediation started

I have requested Informal Mediation related to the comments you have left to me on both my and other user's talk pages. Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2008-07-31_Forridean. Hopefully, we can resolve this matter in a civil manner without further insults. Forridean 19:18, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Maybe you can actually learn how to sign your signature and no, I don't partake in cabal mediation, they are not official. You can leave now. Thanks. --eric (mailbox) 19:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I am proceeding through the required process. If the cabal is not effective due to your refusal to participate, then I will continue to take the matter to the next step. OR, you can apologize for your immature comments and leave me alone, which was always an option, both before and currently. From this point forward, I will not acknowledge commentary by you outside of mediation or any elevated processes that may be required. --Forridean 19:18, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
No, you're prohibited from any furthur communication. Good bye. --eric (mailbox) 20:46, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Soccer?

Soccer is not it's name, it is Football! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.156.236.152 (talk) 21:20, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

July 2008

Please stay off Forridean's talk page for the next 24 hours; if he adds your name to the MedCab case, don't edit war to remove it for 24 hours (it's existence on the page does not require you to do anything); and if he leaves another message on your talk page, you can just remove it with no comment. I am leaving a similar message at his talk page. The first step in dispute resolution is to stop escalating. AIV report declined. --barneca (talk) 23:09, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Now, would you like an uninvolved 3rd party to see what your argument is about, do you want to drop it, or do you plan to pursue another method of dispute resolution? I'm perfectly happy either way, and you're within your rights to decline MedCab, but edit warring on each other's talk pages and throwing around the term vandalism isn't going to solve anything. --barneca (talk) 23:13, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I've already selected to ignore his contributions and warned him not to post on my user page; which I stated will be reverted, since then I have not even bothered to look at his talk page but he continues to add my name, not only that but he doesn't know how to use warning templates either. Anywho, thank you for your intervention per stated on the AIAV board. I can't see his edits, so in my eyes, he's been blocked :) Ciao, Happy Editing! --eric (mailbox) 23:17, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
If he leaves you another message on your talk page today, I'll block him. If he asks for my help, I'll look into things, but won't bother you anymore unless it looks like he's got a point. --barneca (talk) 23:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
