Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. A tag has been placed on Adam J. Sims, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. coelacan — 04:10, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for all the help. As you can tell I'm pretty new to this, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You're right, I inappropriately placed that article. Feel free to delete it asap. I tried to delete it myself, but haven't had much luck in that endeavor.

Re:Redirects[edit]

The redirect was created as a by-product of me moving the article to Clockwork Universe (fiction). See our policy on the subject. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any help. J Milburn 14:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:RolandColor1.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:RolandColor1.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy cleared for takeoff 23:42, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

adoption offer[edit]

Hi there, I see you are looking for adoption. I have been around WP for awhile and can probably answer any questions you might have. If you would like to be adopted leave me a message on my talk page. Cheers!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 05:28, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

If you're interested checkout my user page and my talk page to see if you'd like to be adopted.Sam ov the blue sand 00:05, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clockwork Universe[edit]

You keep removing the notability and reference tags from the Clockwork Universe (fiction) entry. I'm afraid they were good faith additions and I expanded on my concerns on the talk page. You need to address them and clarify the nature of the project first. If you keep taking them out nand I keep putting them back in this will rapidly hit the WP:3RR limit which then requires intervetion and I'd rather fix things before it came to that. (Emperor 18:25, 13 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

It seems we were sendign each other messages at the same time. Firstly: I am unsure what you mean by references as I can't see that you've added any. This also doesn't not address the notability concern which is connected but separate and more serious. Please leave the tags in place and address my comments on the talk page. (Emperor 18:27, 13 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Could you direct my to those references, as I can only see one link to a DeviantArt page? Please familiarise yourself with these fundamental guidelines: WP:N, WP:V and WP:RS. The entry is currently failing nearly all the criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia and I'm trying to help you address these issues otherwise all your hard work could be for nothing. (Emperor 18:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]
As I can say I can see one link to a DeviantArt page but that doesn't meet the reliable sources criteria. It could qualify as an external link but that is all. So this doesn't yet go far enough to satisfy the verfiability guidelines and in turn the whole notability issue is not addressed as you'd require a number of reliable and independent sources discussing this. I'm trying to identify the weaknesses in the entry so they can be addressed as it is currently at risk of being put up for deletion and I'd rather address the concerns now than try and fix them during some future deletion process. So thanks for going and digging out further resources. (Emperor 18:43, 13 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Thanks for adding those links but they fail the standard as reliable sources and should be put under external links.
You also haven't explained what it is. The FAQ [1] says it is a fictional universe but what for? What is based on this universe? Games, comics, novels? And if so where are these available from? (Emperor 19:00, 13 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I'm new as well[edit]

I'm new as well, and have some suggestions (though the probably don't mean much cause I have only been here a tad bit longer than you.)

  1. I don't suggest big projects early on, be bold in smaller projects, then work your way up.
  2. Get adopted! Its so nice having a person you can easily ask questions to.
  3. Try to get into Vandalism and Typo-correction early, they help Wikipedia a lot and it helps get you used to the repetitive that a lot of edits are (unless your going on to bigger and better things ^_^)

Thats all. Leonard^Bloom 02:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
