Slow it down a bit

I'm noticing that your work contains a lot of errors -- both grammar errors, and factual errors. You seem to do a good job with the stats tables, but when you describe the players' stats in the body of the text, you make lots of mistakes. Please try to slow things down a bit, and check over your work. Thanks! Zagalejo^^^ 18:02, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Brackets are commonly used to alter a quotation for the sake of clarity. (You've never seen this in a book or newspaper?) Anyway, it doesn't help readers if articles are hard to understand, or contradict themselves. I mean, look at the Kyrie Irving page. You wrote, "Over the season, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds for 27.5 minutes per game with 52.9% from the field." But in the stats table, all of those numbers (expect points per game) are different. You made similar errors in several articles. Just try to take your time with this stuff. It's going out, live, to people all over the world.
And for the record, I've contributed tons of content over the years. I've helped bring several articles to featured article status. Zagalejo^^^ 20:53, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Just so you know, I do appreciate your enthusiasm. Looking at what I wrote, I think I might have been a little bit too harsh. You do deserve some credit for trying to expand our coverage. Thanks. Zagalejo^^^ 21:10, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Here's a good article about the use of brackets. As for your other points, it's certainly more enjoyable to add content than to focus on proofreading. However, someone has to do the less glamorous work. Again, lots of content is good, but it also has to be easy to read.
I do appreciate your continued work with the stats tables. It takes a lot of time to get everything up to date, but it's great to see someone stepping up to help. Zagalejo^^^ 04:07, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Shaquille O'Neal. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Thanks for your general improvement of references in the article. However, the specific tag you removed was for a section that is still unreferenced for over half of its text. Perhaps you can elaborate further on your edit summary of "not needed".Bagumba (talk) 15:36, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

All right, my bad, sorry. I thought that section had enough references so I removed maintenance template (not templates because video games all fully referenced). Now my question, why don't you try to improve article (especially in that problematic section) by finding references as I did in another section? Thanks, AirWolf (talk) 02:18, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Editors here are all volunteers and they don't always have time/energy/effort to improve articles. If you look deeply into Bagumba's contribution, you will see that (s)he also works quite hard on improving articles.—Chris!c/t 02:44, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
No problem, I assumed it was a simple oversight. Thanks for your many contributions recently to NBA-related articles. As Chris mentioned, we are all volunteers at Wikipedia. However, I am not as active on O'Neal's article as I was in the past. Thanks in advance for your continued efforts.—Bagumba (talk) 05:16, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

LeBron

Just so you know, the NBA hasn't announced a winner yet. All the stories actually say is that an unnamed sources says LeBron will win. An announcement is expected tomorrow [1], so we can re-add things then. Zagalejo^^^ 23:44, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Euroleague stats template

I added PIR (rating/ranking) and overall field goal percentage to the stats tables. Because PIR is a major stat, probably the biggest one of all in Euroleague and is part of the main stats. I added overall field goal percentage, because no one outside of Europe understands that the 2PT% isn't the same thing as FG%. For example, everyone in the USA just automatically wrongly assumes that it is the same thing as FG%, which causes a lot of confusion. Like Americans think guys that shoot 40% from the field, are shooting 50-70 percent from the field. I saw thought hat you already added the stats to a bunch of articles and now the templates don't match up because the two extra stats are not listed. I will go through the articles and update the stats one by one, but it will take me some time. I just though I would let you know, so that you don't revert the template back to fix it, because I will update the player pages. Thanks.Bluesangrel (talk) 10:53, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

If you want to help me update it, I would appreciate it. I just realized how many articles you put it on.Bluesangrel (talk) 10:56, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I updated all of the stats then to all of the articles that you added the new Euroleague stats template to, So you don't have to worry about going back and updating any of them. Thanks.Bluesangrel (talk) 13:57, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
I saw the post a bit late, as I said, put 4-rows legend (it's too wide now), and also, maybe we should delete 2P% in the table, just like you said, it's confusing, I thought that when I created but.. I left it as it is. PIR gives more complexity, but it can stay (for the reason you wrote). Try adding to even more Euroleague players these stats, when I have time I'll add. I mostly put stats for Serbian national team players because I'm from Serbia. Maybe if we put in more articles, it will become more "popular" for other users to participate.
Another idea come to my mind when I was doing stats, why to don't put stats and for Uleb Cup (2nd biggest competition in Europe) in same tables? The reason I didn't, was to not mess two competitions, but it is not a bad idea as we have on the Euroleague site stats for that competition too. What do you think? AirWolf (unsigned) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.198.218.141 (talk) 23:31, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Hey, yeah I was thinking maybe we should have some for ACB and Eurocup. But then again, I think that this would confuse Americans who think of all leagues in Europe as "Euroleague". It confuses them, same way as the 2 PT% and FG% difference. But yeah, we definitely need to get some more of the Euroleague stats on articles. So yeah, I will try to add them to some of the player articles, as I have time. Then like you said, maybe others will copy and do the same.Bluesangrel (talk) 10:03, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
I see you removed 2PT% from the Euroleague stats template. Just tell me what you think we should do, either having it or not having it. So I know whether or not to add it to the player articles when I add the stats. Because if not, we have to go back and fix all of them one by one. Thanks.Bluesangrel (talk) 18:13, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
That's what I'm doing now, I'll fix "mine" articles, maybe it's better with just fg and 3pfg, not and 2pfg. It's confusing with both, I made 4row table, it's clearer now.. Is this way OK? AirWolf (talk) 18:16, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
All NBA players almost have their NBA stats listed. Even if they only played a handful of games. Can I put Spanoulis' NBA stats back? or will you revert it? Yeah, it's fine just having the overall field goal%.Bluesangrel (talk) 18:39, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

NBA rosters

You can either sort them by number, or alphabetically by name. I don't mind, as long as there's some logic behind it. Zagalejo^^^ 23:40, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Russian PBL is not supposed to be in existence anymore

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that the Russian Professional Basketball League isn't supposed to exist anymore, as the Russian clubs are now using the VTB United League as their domestic league, or at least that's what the PBL, Russian Basketball Federation, and VTB announced in July.173.216.233.111 (talk) 13:38, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

So what you telling me is that VTB United League and Russian Professional Basketball League are defunct now and merged into the Eastern European Professional Basketball League and is it just rumour or is it official? And please give me some good sources for your saying. Thanks! AirWolf (talk) 14:08, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

FYI... on talk pages, the "auto" parameter should only be placed by bots. It means that article was automatically assessed by a non-human (are admins are non-human?). Bgwhite (talk) 07:36, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know what does it mean, just copied it from another similar article in order to users can talk about possible issues of those articles. Further I will stay away from the talk pages and thanks for this information you left me there, otherwise I could make more mistakes like this one in the future. And yeah, maybe admins are from other planet or some super non-human creature, who knows? I was never sure that we are all humans there hehe. And one advise, leave more detailed message on someones talk page, I had more than minute to figure out what was the problem. Bye and thanks! AirWolf (talk) 23:22, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Ivana Maksimović.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Ivana Maksimović.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vanjagenije (talk) 09:28, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Basketball League of Serbia

Pozdrav!:) Naravno da moze na srpskom. Jesam navijac Partizana ali radim clanke i o rugim klubovima npr Radnicki itd. Nedavno sam uradio vaterpolo ligu i kup srbije. Treba da uradim kup srbije u rukometu i odbojci. The Euroleague pages do look nicer. Thanks for your work on that. I'll talk to Michael ksk. I don't think he's deliberately trying to cause trouble, but it would be nice if he could explain what he wants to accomplish. Zagalejo^^^ 02:27, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Listing the country/league next to the team in the infobox

The infobox is just set so that the country and league (like first or second division) should be listed for players that are not playing in the NBA. It's not set to each specific league and country. So whether the player played in the same country or not should not matter, when using it to decipher the difference between a first division club and a second division club. I think it's worth noting the difference between playing Spanish first division and second division, Greek first and second division, etc. Due to the fact that no one from USA or many other countries is going to know the difference without it being listed. So they would think even playing in a third division club was playing in the top league. And yes, basketball fans in the USA will automatically assume all lower division clubs were the top league. So I really think it should be left if it stats what country and what division the team is in in the player inboxes. Of course, it seems that editors are removing that info all the time, so apparently other people don't find it pertinent. But it really is very pertinent. Because people in USA have no idea about lower divisions and different countries leagues.Bluesangrel (talk) 02:25, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

I was referring to the Vassilis Xanthopoulos article. I think it is pertinent to list first and second division on the teams they players played on. That is what I am referring to [2]. Don't get mad, your edits are superb and you are doing great for European basketball articles here. I am just saying that I think in this case, we should leave this info intact.Bluesangrel (talk) 21:06, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I forgot to list the diff I was talking about. I think it's fine to change the edits as you did, I just think that you should leave it if it specifies that a club is in the 2nd division. That's all I am saying. Because as I am telling you, Americans really do not understand how that works, since they do not have any such thing as promotion system in the sports leagues. So it's totally confusing to them as a concept. Hopefully that helps you see what I mean. And yes, I think your edits have been really good. If you have any idea you need help with to make the European basket articles better you can discuss it with me any time.Bluesangrel (talk)

Hi again. As suggest, wouldn't be good to save all the colors used in other years instead of deleting and adding? Gonzaka (talk) 07:56, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm strongly against such suggestion, because this template should have only current Euroleague teams. So, it should be updated season from season, just like I did for 2013-14 (still uncompleted, but will be soon). AirWolf (talk) 15:12, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey AirWolf

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:12, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Changing weights of players to very old team listings

I don't think this should be done. The weights of players on team listings can be many years old and outdated, and when you chance the player's weight to an old listing, it blocks out the newer listings and changes weights to numbers that are incorrect. Taking a 30 year old player to his weight at age 18 for example. I think this is a really bad practice to do this and I think we should have a discussion on it, because it is putting clearly very incorrect weight listings on many articles.Bluesangrel (talk) 17:31, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Name the articles and we will talk. AirWolf (talk) 23:46, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
It's on a whole bunch of articles. We should not be changing weights back to players from when they were 18-20 years old, just because some source might still be using that old weight.Bluesangrel (talk) 21:28, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
So, in that case, what do you suggest, to which sources can we belevue? AirWolf (talk) 14:32, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited Color Press Group, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Macedonia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Request reason:

Can someone please unblock me while I'm contributing on open proxies? Wiki can track me as I log on, I do no harmless work, u can see it in my contribution. I have started one big project at my home, but now I am far from it with no other device (even portable).. AirWolf (talk) 13:00, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Decline reason:

We can't handle that this way. Go over to WP:IPBE and use the email UTRS link there (you should be able to do it). — Daniel Case (talk) 18:04, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

OK, kind of I passed over this problem.. AirWolf (talk) 13:50, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, but your reasons for speedy deletion weren't ones we can speedy delete on. Speedy deletion is limited - please see WP:CSD. OK, there is a template db-reason. It rarely works for the majority of things. If you're going to give reasons that aren't in the CSD list, you're better to use WP:PROD or WP:AFD.

Thank you. I will complete much standardized form next time.. it will be soon.AirWolf (talk) 11:42, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Nationalities

What are you talking about?I'm not doing anything wrong with these two articles.I'm just placing shortcuts to the country they are from.Marin Cilic has that shortcut.Goran Ivanisevic also.Roko Ukic,Marko Marulić,Vladimir Prelog,Goethe has shortcut leading to Germany,Nietzsche also..So i don't see what is your problem here really..I don't see the point in your edits..If u really want to go to war over such a stupid thing then go for it.My edits are justified and are not forbidden and i'm not inventing some facts or doing something wrong to the articles. Scrosby85 (talk) 02:49, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

I know that placing links is not necessary but i'm placing it because it is not forbidden. There are no more links behind "Croatian" so it is not confusing or something like that.Yes i know that major locations and cities don't need to be linked but Croatia is not major location and it is not popular in whole world. That's why i placed it..If Marin Cilic,Ivanisevic,Goethe,Nietzsche,Krleza,Mestrovic can have it i don't see a problem why this shouldn't have. Scrosby85 (talk) 01:02, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

AirWolf asked me to comment on this topic. Without looking into the specifics of each article, generally speaking, WP:OVERLINK applies, and major countries do not need to be linked. Care should be taken with "other stuff exists" arguments, as sometimes existing articles may need to be cleaned up as well.—Bagumba (talk) 02:42, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Nikola Peković

Thanks for seeking dispute resolution on Nikola Peković. Like the other editor, you were also involved in edit warring, which you're aware is not condoned on Wikipedia. I could block both of you, but would prefer the situation work itself out, and you've appeared to stop with the reverts. Cheers, and thanks again for initiating discussion.—Bagumba (talk) 00:22, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

The article Radoslav Milenković has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. m8e39 10:52, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Improved, described.--AirWolf (talk) 13:01, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Novi Pazar demograhics

Hi AirWolf, please note that I did not have any bad intentions by inserting the "citation-needed" tag. I am grateful that you have now provided sources, however none of the sources seem to give any info on the etnic data of the censuses spanning 1953 to 1991. The "comparative overview" source only gives general population numbers, not ethnic ones. Praxis Icosahedron ϡ (TALK) 21:22, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Why don't you for a change put some work there, other than just indicating others what to do. You lazy worm.--AirWolf (talk) 22:04, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
Satisfied now? Suggestion: Go to any municipality in Serbia and put "citation needed" tag in demographics. That's the easy way. The harder way is to update all of them using the sources I provided in Novi Pazar's demographics. Now there is logic question I am asking myself, which way will you chose (if any)? I am 95% sure you'll chose the easier one, as you are that kind of person, person that won't contribute truly, willing only to give orders, indications and s*** that has to be done, but won't do anything by him/herself. And that made me mad here, this was just an expectation to show you how you should contribute in the future. Just adding these tags won't help in lot of cases in Serbia-related articles. Trust me, I've been seeing them hanging for 5+ years w/o anyone willing to change something. Peace.--AirWolf (talk) 23:41, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry Wolf, it was certainly not my intention to upset you. I apologize if the tag rubbed you the wrong way. Will keep your words in mind before tagging again! Praxis Icosahedron ϡ (TALK) 00:41, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Template:List of Serbian companies by revenue

Template:List of Serbian companies by revenue has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. The Banner talk 22:06, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

There was nothing wrong with your deletion request per se. It was just in the wrong form. In the future, to request deletion of a page you have created yourself, please use {{db-author}}. That will place the correct deletion template. Thanks. Safiel (talk) 00:56, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Merge reverted

I've reverted your merging of Jat Airways into Air Serbia. The talk page thread you pointed at clearly shows no consensus.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:24, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

AirWolf, a personal note: I'm not angry at you, nor do I intend to scold you, but you are coming across as too pushy and aggressive in that discussion, and that usually just causes people just to be spiteful and aggressive in return. As Jetstreamer said, you asked for opinions, and opinions you get, and all of them so far were given in good faith and with better or worse arguments. I did note that FkpCascais advocates merging, and I quoted him just to show that his apparent second choice is my first. Please assume some good faith. Yes, reasonable people sometimes disagree, and some battles you win, and some you lose. Whichever way the debate ends, the material about the company will still be there, in one, two, or three articles, so what. It's just a fucking article on a fucking website. Chill out a bit. No such user (talk) 12:01, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
P.S. I did note your recent good work on articles about Serbian economy and I'd like to thank you for that. Good work, unfortunately, often goes unnoticed. No such user (talk) 12:01, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
Ah, so, that aggression was not just a temporary lapse, but a trait of character. Whatever. I won't bother you anymore. I've been always lousy at peace-making anyway. No such user (talk) 20:22, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
