Congratulations!

Congratulations! I'm in the process of promoting Sentence spacing to Featured Article status. It's a very well-written article - I'm glad you tackled it. Unfortunately, I have zero idea how to classify this according to the FA categories. For now, I'm going to put this under Culture and Society. If you have a better idea, will you please let me know and I'll move it? Thanks! Karanacs (talk) 02:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

My congratulations too! Well done, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:42, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll try to tackle something a little less "niche" for the next article, although I thought it was an interesting topic. I would classify this under the "Language and linguistics" FA category. That makes the most sense to me given the subject matter. --Airborne84 (talk) 02:52, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Congrats from me too; it's a niche article in a very underrepresented topic at FA. Karanacs, I went ahead and moved the article. Dabomb87 (talk) 03:15, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Dabomb! Karanacs (talk) 12:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your thanks, but I think you did much, much more work on this than I did. Glad to know I helped. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:26, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

In case you had not seen this: Wikipedia:Today's featured article/August 4, 2010 - congrats again! Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:13, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

And thanks! Based on some "conversations" here on Wikipedia and some of my research (when people post this topic on Twitter, it generates huge responses, for example), I suspect that the 4th will be a long day of reverting vandalism. Looking forward to it though! --Airborne84 (talk) 18:54, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for this interesting article — I'd never realised there was so much to this subject.--86.74.186.220 (talk) 07:21, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. I enjoyed writing it. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it! --Airborne84 (talk) 10:53, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Telengard gameplay - monster encounter.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Telengard gameplay - monster encounter.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:54, 21 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 04:54, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Sentence spacing

I will take a look at it - thanks for the heads up. Will take me a few hours, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 19:22, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I think you have been remarkably patient - no one should be removing your regular posts from an article talk page, though you can if you want to. I have not read all of the talk page, but looks like the IP user RB has a definite POV. I will post on the talk page and on the IP's talk page next. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:45, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi. The sketch of Galula you added to the article was in it at an earlier date, but was removed because of its amateurish quality, so I've removed it again. I've looked for a photo of Galula without success, but perhaps you might have better success than I did -- so if you want to give it a try, please do! Best, Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:35, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

I see. If you've already tried, you've probably canvassed most of what I'd try in the time I have available. Don't you think that the photo might be the best solution for the interim? I'll admit that the lack of an image might be more of an incentive for someone to "find" a better image that is available for use. But, if it's been a while since the image was first deleted, maybe that's an indication that the sketch is the best we have for now.
This is probably better for the talk page there, but I don't see a lot of commentary there... --Airborne84 (talk) 02:46, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I think the image is of very poor quality, and since we can't find a photograph of him (even one that we can't use), how are we to know that it's even an accurate drawing of Galula? (It was made by a Wikipedia editor.) Having it in the article makes us look amateurish, which the lack of a photo doesn't. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:42, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Something Unuusal

I've got this my discussion reverted[1] and this weird legal threat[2] from 69.31.68.51. I think this is rather unusual for removing a sentence in Public opinion on climate change. Maybe you can have a look and offer your opinion, because I'm a little taken aback. --CaC 155.99.230.57 (talk) 21:58, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the statement "I can accuse in court" meant. I also didn't look into the reliability of the source that you added. The important thing is that you are right in that no one should be removing your comments on talk pages (except for some very narrow circumstances). If someone disagrees with your additions to an article (including the reliability of a source), they should discuss their reasons on a talk page, not delete your comments. I recommend that you revert your comment to reinstate it on the talk page, add a comment for others to please not delete your comments and ask users to adhere to Wikipedia's talk page guidelines. If it happens again, find an admin and show him/her the diff you noted above. It should be speedily handled. If you need help in finding an admin, let me know. I'll be happy to help. --Airborne84 (talk) 00:57, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Seasonal Greeting

Thanks! And the same to you!! --Airborne84 (talk) 16:30, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Seasons Greetings!

<font=3> Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and all the best in 2011! Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:54, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Open GAR

Hi Airborne84 - I just wanted to remind you that there is an open GAR at Talk:Battle of Wanat/GA2 that was initiated by you on June 24 and has had no comments since. Thanks, Dana boomer (talk) 19:35, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I've made some changes and the original issues I saw are largely resolved. I'll check to see how to close the GAR out. --Airborne84 (talk) 22:44, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Done. --Airborne84 (talk) 16:13, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Advice

Hi Airborne84, sorry I have been slow in commenting on the Sentence Spacing talk page - have been busy in real life, and I also share your weariness. I will leave a note on the FAC talk page and let others active in the process know what is going on and ask for their advice (and assistance at the page, if they feel so inclined). Will also weigh in on the talk page again. This looks like it is heading twoards an edit war and protection is an option there, but I am reluctant to protect it as 1) it is not quite at an edit war yet and 2) I am an involved editor and it is better if an univolved admin makes the decision to protect or not. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:50, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in here, but if either of you thinks I'm acting out of bounds in the discussion, please feel free to smack me with a trout. I am responsive to seafood, and can alway use advice. --Nuujinn (talk) 16:32, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Ruhrfisch. You are right in being circumspect in addressing the talk page. I think Geoffrey.landis is making good faith changes, although I also think that sweeping changes on a contentious, Featured Article should gain consensus first.
Nuujin, please continue to bring your thoughts and input to the article. This weekend I'm going to sign off of Wikipeida for a few months. Besides affecting my IRL writing projects for publication, this article is just taking too much of my time. I won't sign off until making any changes I think are necessary and reasonable though--depending on how others react to the recent changes. --Airborne84 (talk) 17:41, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
I hope you enjoy your time off, it's good to take a break now and again. See you around and look forward to working with you in the future! --Nuujinn (talk) 18:55, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
I left a brief note at FAC talk, here. Airborne, I hope you enjoy your break and come back rested and refreshed (and soon ;-) ). Nuujinn, please continue to act as you have - I for one greatly appreciate your input. Once more into the breach. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 22:30, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Enjoy your break. I think we have some more eyes on the article, which is (usually) good. My primary concern is maintaining FA quality and preventing edit warring on the page, which is a lose-lose. --Andy Walsh (talk) 05:06, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your note. It was timely, as I'm signing off now. I don't mind if there are changes to the article that improve it, but I'd certainly like to return to an FA-quality article. Glad to see there are additional experienced eyes on it. Best, --Airborne84 (talk) 05:09, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Feel free to delete it. Thanks! --Airborne84 (talk) 18:07, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I have opted to quick fail the article, as I feel that the work required to fix the errors would take a while. It requires a reception section, better referencing, and less guide content (such as a list of treasures). - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 01:55, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
