Restoration of John Sarkisian

Hi,

I'm writing in the hopes that you will restore the Wikipedia page for John Sarkisian. Here's the red link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sarkisian

Sarkisian is Cher's father (her given name was Cheryln Sarkisian), and he's noteworthy to anyone who wants to link Cher to her Armenian heritage. He was, by most accounts, not the best father figure, but that doesn't diminish the effect he had on Cher's childhood, and more importantly his role as her connection to Armenia. To this day, Cher speaks Armenian because of him, and her philanthropy to Armenia wouldn't exist if he was not her father. Information on Sarkisian is hard to come by on the web, and the Wikipedia page in question was one of the few resources available. If you could restore the page, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much, Rafi Guroian

152.130.11.197 (talk) 14:07, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

I know Cher is of Armenian ancestry. It is common knowledge. Unfortunately being related to a notable person does not confer notability. Each person has to be notable on their own. The article was deleted way back in 2010 for lack of sources to assert notability. If you had an account, I could userfy it for you to work on, but that cannot be done for anonymous users. If you have verifiable sources you can start an article on this person. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 14:39, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Alexf, I'm looking at this guy's unblock request, and I'm thinking of accepting it. I'm guessing you blocked based on the edit filter hit? I've asked him to take a look at WP:COI, WP:EL, and WP:RS, and agree to avoid linking that website again. Do you have any thoughts? Writ Keeper 22:11, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Go ahead. Yes, it was the filter. The website they linked to matched the user name. It was a clear case of spam the way I saw it. Let them continue. I'll add them to my watchlist to make sure they do so within policy. Maybe a change of name might be in order too. (I'm short on time right now and I have to go, else I might to it myself). Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 22:28, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Abaran

Dear Alexf, you deleted the page Abaran Bangalore. Abaran was started in the year 1935. It is one of the oldest jewellery house's in the city of Bangalore. Abaran is the first ISO 9001 certified jewellery house in the state of Karnataka. This wiki throws light on the History of Abaran jewellery and how it was first to get the ISO standardization certificate for its Quality. other admin told me to add third party reference. So i did it. Just now i added two third party references in the wiki. *As modernity meets tradition... this link is for an article in Deccan Herald News Paper. *Forevermark this link is to a famous jewellery website www.artofjewellery.com. So please undo the article. Rainmakersindia (talk) 10:44, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

The Deccan Herald article is a promotional piece. It does not indicate why the store is notable enough to merit an encyclopedia article. So is the artofjewellery article. Both talk about Forevermark. Neither one relates to the store, its history and its significance. You say it is significant, the oldest, etc., but you have not shown it. -- Alexf(talk) 13:00, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
A small thankyou for deleting instances of Category:Wikipedia usernames with possible policy issues from the pages of blocked users - I try hard to remember to do so, but I sometimes forget, and you seem to fix my omissions more often than even KingpinBot manages. Thanks. I try to keep CAT:UAA to one page, no more, so I check it daily for suspected vios that have been left there too long. -- Alexf(talk) 15:24, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

??

Why did you delete the Jakub Giersza page? I'm not asking you to restore it or anything like that but I was just wondering why you did that. In case you don't remember, he was the actor who played Dominic in the Suicide Room film.108.77.6.22 (talk) 10:50, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Er, I've no idea without a red link as requested in the edit notice at the top of this edit page. Also it would be nice if you complied with requests and added a new subsection, so these messages do not get lost in the clutter. It makes no sense to tag a message along an unrelated subject. Why would you go to pains to hide it? Why post in the first place? I took a quick look and could not find a deleted article of that name, and honestly I do not have the time to do your research for you, therefore the request in the edit notice for a link. -- Alexf(talk) 16:07, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Need a hand

Hey, Alex. I was hoping to find a neutral admin whom I had no interaction with, but everyone I checked turns out to be inactive. :-) Since we haven't had much on-Wiki interaction, I figured you were the next-best thing. :-) I got a request at User talk:SarekOfVulcan#Could you review something? that I am far too involved in the topic, on-and-off-Wiki, to deal with. Could you take a look at it when you get a chance? Thanks. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:54, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Uh, I am not qualified as I do not know much if anything about Freemasonry and I do not routinely do article reviews. I took a quick look and see it involves more than one editor among many articles on the Freemasonry space. I am thoroughly unqualified, and it would take a long time for me to research and see what are they talking about and who's right, time I do not have. Sorry.
Ok, thanks for looking, anyhow. I was thinking that a lack of familiarity with the subject would actually come in handy in this case, but lack of time, I understand. :-) --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:08, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Alex. You blocked this user for having a promotional username, but after viewing their unblock request and doing a couple of searches, I've come to the conclusion that their username doesn't actually violate the username policy. I've therefore unblocked them under their original name (though I have pointed them to WP:CHU in case they're interested). I'm happy to discuss this further if you want to, just leave me a note. Yunshui  08:40, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Please Restore MY User Page.

Hello, Alexf. You have new messages at File Talk: eossipov.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Extra Link to be doubly sure :) (notice they're all red?) :)<wiping the moisture starting to drip from her eyes <sniff><sniff> Please? I even left you a special link on my talk page to where you deleted it initially. I wanted to save you the time looking for the edits.

Eossipov (talk) 15:24, 11 January 2013 (UTC); 15:24, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

The link you posted here goes to a nonexistent page. There is no page at File talk:eossipov. That is in the file (images) space, not the user space. If you are referring to your user page, it was full of spamlinks and that is why it was deleted. Per UPNOT, in Wikipedia user pages you are allowed tro write a little about yourself, but not link to and promote your website or your blog. Just for the sake of argument, I have a blog and a website. They have been active now for a long time (the blog for 11 years, the website for about 16 years), yet there are no references to them in my user page. Why? Because Wikipedia is not a place for promotion. -- Alexf(talk) 15:43, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Block of 70.63.132.194

Hi. You recently blocked this IP on my request - thanks. However, I'm not sure a 31 hour block is appropriate for vandalism conducted over four months. Per WP:IPBLENGTH, a block of months or years can be considered for long-term vandalism. I realise you are more experienced than me at this, but I would be grateful if you could take a further look. Thanks! MatthewHaywood (talk) 17:41, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

It had never been blocked before. IP addresses could rotate and there could be different users at it next time. It is customary to start with a short block. user is watchlisted. Should they not get the message, subsequent blocks will be more severe. -- Alexf(talk) 17:45, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
OK, I should have known you were on to it. Thanks! MatthewHaywood (talk) 17:48, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Almirante Brown.gif)

Thanks for uploading File:Almirante Brown.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:12, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

The elvis main wiki article

The elvis article in the beginning needs to read elvis is considered the greatest artist of the 20th century . Here are credible sources to validate that statement

1) in 1992 , the riaa proclaimed elvis as the greatest recording artist of all time "

2)in 1998 , Sony bmg issued a press release stating the following : unequivocally, elvis aoron presley is the biggest selling artist in the history of popular music "

3) the smithsonian declared elvis the greatest entertainer of the 20th century

4) TV guide on there cover declared elvis the entertainer of the century

Please change . All 4 can easily be verified as credible ~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.228.201.147 (talk) 02:41, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Don't know why you posted this here. A request like this should go in the article's talk page. Besides, you say these are credible sources. Nope. They are your claims. They are unsourced and need citations. Also, it would be nice if you posted a link to articles and signed your posts in talk pages as requested at the top of the edit page. -- Alexf(talk) 10:08, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

New page for Guerilla Tea

Dear Alexf,

The page for game developer Guerilla Tea was speedily deleted about a year ago as there was not enough content on the company back then to allow for a page. The company has enough of a track record now to warrant a page. I just thought it best to contact since I'm looking to create a new page with the same title and Wikipedia basically directed me to get in touch before doing this.

Regards, Chuck — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuck1986 (talkcontribs) 16:07, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

It would help if you linked to the page as requested at the top of this page when in Edit Mode. I've no idea and could not find the article to be able to answer. Please remember to sign your comments in Talk pages. -- Alexf(talk) 18:58, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

The page is Guerilla Tea 84.12.11.155 (talk) 11:13, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Ok. I looked at it. The page had only once sentence as follows:
"Guerilla Tea LLP is an independent video game developer based in Dundee, Scotland."
That's it. No sources, no citations, no references, nothing. If you think the company is notable and you can provide reliable sources, then go ahead. -- Alexf(talk) 14:05, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Reinstitute William Claflin page

Hi Alexf,

I'm writing in the hope that you'll reinstitute the page you deleted in '09 about William (Willy) Claflin, the singer/songwriter/puppeteer/performer. He's a prominent individual in the children's storytelling crowd around New England, and you can find some of his videos on youtube as evidence of such, or much of his work available for purchase on the internet. He is certainly an individual that is prominent enough to warrant a Wikipedia page. Thanks for your consideration - — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.100.111 (talk) 07:12, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

If you think you can provide reliable sources to assert notability, by all means, go ahead and write an article. You made some claims but that does not constitute a verifiable source. Also, next time please follow the instructions at the top of the edit page here and provide a redlink and don't forget to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 16:49, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Alex. Having looked over this user's unblock request, it looks as though they simply didn't choose their username very well - there's no promotion of the library anywhere in their edits. Since they've requested a rename, I've unblocked them and sent them to WP:CHU. It was your block originally, so I thought I'd let you know, but I figure you'd be fine with it. Elysian Shadows Tank

To Alexf,

Please reinstate my article about the alchemist tank, it was made in good humor and actually took me a while to make. It was the first article I made, and I would really appreciate if it wasn't taken down. I actually made an account specifically to write that article as a joke, but the creator of the tank replied with this on facebook: "I actually am somehow connected to page on wikipedia. I feel...proud D:..." Elysian_Shadows_Tank Thanks for your consideration: Oblivionkey21 (talk) 04:51, 29 January 2013

Page Deleted

I understand that the page Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. was marked for deletion because it seemed more promotional rather than factual.

I read the rules about companies generally should not post their own pages, but it is allowed if the text is kept factual.

Could you be more specific on which sections and/or wording were too promotional? I would like to correct it and have the page published, if possible.

Thank you for your time!

Eddie Ploma (talk) 17:47, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

As indicated in the notice you received by the nominating user, the page was promotional. It included POV material like Mission Statements and such. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Read Your First Article to see what and why is needed, and if you have a connection to the organization, please read about the issues with conflicts of interest and the Business FAQ. It will answer many of your questions. The page has been userfied at User:Eddie Ploma/Educational Credential Evaluators for you to work one. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 17:59, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Re: your block, looks like this user took the advice to open a new account but then added back the same old spam. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 18:19, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks but the proper way is not to tell one individual admin who may be off-line, but to revert the spam, warn the user and if they continue, report them to the appropriate Admin Board (vandalism, spam, or whatever the case may be). It is not a case of sockpuppetry when they were told to request a name change or start a new account but it may well be a case of a simple spammer as you said. Thanks for the heads up. -- Alexf(talk) 20:08, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

deleted info on poet ryunosuke satoro

I'd like to include a quote by Japanese poet Ryunosuke Satoro in an article I'm writing, and would like to include his dates of birth and death. I cannot find this info on the internet, and his wiki page was deleted with your assent.

I do not wish to have that article reinstated. I merely wondered if you knew his actual dates.

He is best know for the quote: "Individually we are one drop. Together we are an ocean."

Thanks for your help.

A cursory search of my last 500 deletions did not turn it up, so it is your onus to provide a redlink as stated. In any case I do not know the gentleman nor would I know his DOB. Hi Alex. Having just told Orange Mike that I've unblocked this user, I've realised that the block was actually yours - to reiterate what I said to him very briefly: the username isn't related to a real-world company, and there seems to be no promotional intent. Given the information you had to hand I'd probably have blocked as well, but having heard the user's explanation I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hope that's alright with you; as always, please do tell me if you disagree. Cheers, Yunshui  11:02, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

XVirus: Hi Alexf. This is about my comment on P versus NP problem page

Hi, I know that was not a good Idea for typing a comment on P versus NP problem page but no one respond to me. Indeed. I talked about this with User:Avoided too. I need help. I found a new way for reading a hierarchical structure using a single loop (solving P versus NP problem) but I cannot publish it over the net because it is so dangerous. It can be used for controlled nuclear chain reactions too and cause of that I cannot publish it over the net. I found this solution in 2009 but since now, I did not talk about it with anyone because I am afraid of results. I am leaving in Iran and therefore, I cannot publish it until solving problems between Iran and America. I need some advice and help. This is very important. By using my method, you can read a huge hierarchical structure very fast (It will not work very fast on small structures). I solve it using quantum mechanics laws and relativity. Many theories used in this structure like black holes, black material, dark energy etc. Cause of these problems finally I edit P versus NP problem page and I wrote that I solved this problem on 2009 but everyone delete my comment and no one helped me. I'm a system analyst but I didn’t have any academic degrees and cause of that everyone think I'm lying and no one want to hear my voice in my country cause of my education level. If you can help me please send me an email on <email address removed>. I cannot publish my name because I cannot trust anyone and I believe that you can understand my situation. If you can help me please do this and If not please do not delete my comment on P versus NP problem page. :). I believe that it belong to the human kind and I cannot let governments use it against human civilization.

Hi. I made a page called `Vishalakshi Mandap' but somehow you deleted it. Can you please restore it. That is not an ad or not a promotional thing. That is Art of living's international centre. Please restore that page so that I can edit Sameer 00 (talk) 10:40, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks but that is not a Barnstar but a request, which not include a redlink as requested. I did your search work for you and found that the article in question was duly removed under A7 because it had no sources to assert notability whatsoever, not because of advertising as you said. This was of course explained in detail to you in your user talk page so I am baffled as to your confusion. Did you read it? Also, please do not remove maintenance templates, especially CSD notices until you resolve the underlying issue. This is considered vandalism and might lead to a block of your account. -- Alexf(talk) 12:18, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Dude...... why the hell you delete my articles? You know what its worst updating Wikipedia.. I was planning to donate 5000K but its useless...

Sameer 00 (talk) 12:25, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Sameer. There is no need for "why the hell". The reasons why the articles were deleted is plainly explained in the Speedy Deletion notice left in the article itself, and also in the nice and handy notification the original editor that requested the deletion was kind enough to post in your own talk page to inform you. Did you read them? I know you saw them because you deleted a CSD notice and were warned for that. That is vandalism. Please don't do it again. If an article you started is tagged for speedy deletion, there are clear instructions in the notices on what to do to save it. Just follow the directions which generally state that you press a button to ask for deferral and then start working on addressing the issue. The issue in both as a lack of assertion of notability. In the second instance it was an article for a band. Did you read the minimum requirements for notability for bands? If you did, please state in the article, with verifiable references how does the band assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 12:36, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

RE: AN/TPS-43

I'm not an admin, Materialscientist (talk · contribs) protected it. I requested its protection at RFPP. Also, If I were an admin I'd protected it, because even when we can handle this by blocks, it has no sense to allow him to edit this page (and talk page) over and over again if a) there will not be good edits by him/her, and b) after multiple years the article still being an stub, with no new editors editing in good faith. Considering this article and its talk page are his/her only target, and that his/her trolling began when the article was basically new, we don't need to feed him/her other 6 years letting him/her trolling around, and blocking dynamic IPs from (maybe) good faith editors is not a good solution either. Perhaps PC would be enough. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 00:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Ah. Good points. I am always reluctant to protect an article due to the idea of openness and anyone can edit, but I have protected articles in the past when I see no other solution. Thanks for your input. Please watchlist it as he is now targeting the talk page. Most probably we will have to semi-protect this one for a long time. -- Alexf(talk) 00:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

User talk:Antibaro requesting unblock

Hello Alexf. Please see the unblock request at User talk:Antibaro, since you are the blocking admin. He is now asking to change his account name, and he has responded about the spamming. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:02, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Go ahead and unblock. I will watchlist to make sure he goes in and requests CHU as promised. -- Alexf(talk) 19:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Unblock Request

User:tru3f4ct

I can't edit the talkpage for that username, which is why I couldn't request there. The username was b& quite a while back, and I find find any specific instances of vandalism-- but perhaps I am doing it wrong? Just let me know what I need to do.

Thanks. 24.148.57.45 (talk) 09:45, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

The account was blocked in 2010 for vandalism and questionable communications with another editor as evidenced by this edit, and for creating pages like one titled "List of occasional jerks who are very sorry". If you tried to be funny, you need to understand that Wikipedia is not a joke. I opened access to User talk:Tru3f4ct page to make your case there, but it will be watched by admins to see what your request is. Unblock requests have to be very specific and within guidelines and cannot be done by an IP address. See Wikipedia:Appealing a block. -- Alexf(talk) 12:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Check the discussion. BenficaNNossaPaixao (talk) 13:23, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I do. Just make your case there and please do not make invalid repotrts/requests at AIV. The board is busy as is. No need to clog with supposed vandals that only have one edit and that one is over 6 years old. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 13:34, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Please check the discussion again about the 2 offensive redirection pages. Thank you. BenficaNNossaPaixao (talk) 16:19, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

I did. I am not going to comment there due to lack of intimate knowledge of Portuguese football. I do concur with the comments that it should be taken to RFD. Until then, keep the discussion at FOOTY. -- Alexf(talk) 16:29, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Report at WP:AIV withdrawn

Hello Alexf. Regarding this edit, which follows this other one, I reconsidered the report of Jordy Vaca (talk · contribs) at WP:AIV and withdrew it. Let's see if the comment I left at the user's talk page makes him/her understand the difference between blogs and reliable sources. Cheers.--Jetstreamer Talk 20:30, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

I saw it at AIV and thought a block was not warranted nor helpful. I am glad you reconsidered. It seems to me it is an eager editor that needs some guidance. -- Alexf(talk) 23:36, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

No idea what are you talking about. Can you provide a diff? Also, it would be nice if you followed the simple directions stated at the top of this edit page, and started a new section, and signed your messages. Thank you for your attention. -- Alexf(talk) 00:31, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for seeing that your block of Knhswiki was an over-reaction and for changing it to an account name block only. Yes, the user is a SPA, yes the user is a fan of his/her school but there are also other editors on the page (including me) and this person is a newbie and has made efforts to conform the article to WP standards. The article still violates some guidelines but I feel confident the community can work with this person to develop a neutral article. We have to be a bit patient with newbies while they are learning about the WP rules and culture. So thanks again for having the insight to know when you have made a mistake and the for having the courage to correct it. Cheers! --KeithbobTalk 16:14, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

An error between the chair and the keyboard!

I have just joined in order to add my supper club to the existing Wiki page on Underground Restaurants.

I added one line.

Then I got a message from Edgar181 saying, due to my user name, he had blocked me because he thought I was a commercial organisation (I'm not).

I have re-registered with a less ambiguous name and Edgar181 is happy with that. However he said that you had deleted ALL the supper clubs that had previously been listed.

I'm really sorry that I can't add a 'red link' - I don't know how to do that. And I don't know if it applies because you only deleted some of the information? This is my first day as a member!

Edgar181 told me how to re-instate the information, which I have done. But I wanted to be polite and explain why I have re-instated it.

This was a long standing Wiki page, showing useful information on the supperclub/underground restaurant phenomenon, until I came along and caused you to delete ALL the clubs.

Whatever I did wrong (hence the title of this post) I am very sorry to have caused you to delete the info. These are all private individuals who entertain guests in their own homes. They are not commercial restaurants.

Please, please, please don't re-delete the restored info. Thank you for your understanding. LHBmypc (talk) 18:24, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

I see the issue. Yes, the name was seemingly a violation of the username rules. The issue with the article is that the restaurants are all unsourced. I could make up a so-called underground restaurant in Albania or Timbukthree and you wouldn't know the difference. This is why we require verifiable reliable sources. I am starting a discussion on the article's Talk page (that's what Talk Pages are for). Thanks for the info. -- Alexf(talk) 19:03, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. I've posted a reply on the Underground restaurant talk page (at least I think I have???) LHBmypc (talk) 20:25, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Polite request to reinstate my article

Firstly, I am the owner of the hyderabadi.info. Just thought it would be nice to feature on wiki. I did not know how to give myself permission to use my content. Even though i did read it, all the referencing was very confusing. I have enhanced the material and feel it would be different now. Batam-Island 23:05, 26 February 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramseas (talkcontribs)

It seems you have not read the big and prominent notice at the top of this edit page as you have not supplied a link to the article. If you are talking about a specific article, the least you can do is point to it. There are over 4.1 million articles to search through. You know what you are talking about, I do not. It is your responsibility to follow through. As per copyrights, you say you own, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you do not understand it, go to the help files and ask. If you are unsure on how to create new articles that stay, you could read Your First Article or you could ask at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. ref my "polite request to reinstate my article"

Dear alexf,

Here is a link to the deleted article http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_hotels_in_Hyderabad&action=edit&redlink=1 . Now I cant decide if i want you to reinstate it or not. I leave it upto you. I have a few observations:

1. wiki looks for contributions from the public for free and expects us to extensively "educate" ourselves about your various rules before we do it. You really expect people who go to all this trouble to do so without an agenda? 2. whats with the brackets and slashes and tildes. Why cant you just be normal with reply and quotes and sign? 3. Charles darwin would never have written a page had he had to leave red links or references. I understand that you guys delude yourselves about being an encyclopedia. encyclopedias are written by experts. 4. You are of course free to go about your "trigger happy" ways and / or quote a hundred other rules i should follow to post this message. Truly does not matter. I will not be coming back as i am sure are thousands of others who feel the same. 5. Wiki was built on unsubstantiated stuff..it was brilliant see where it got you. With success comes arrogance and even alexander fell..you should review your page. It reeks of arrogance. Enjoy it while it lasts.. Lastly..those who beg for alms usually do so politely..may be wiki is forgetting its origins. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramseas (talkcontribs) 17:05, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

1. By "Wiki" I take it you mean Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Wiki is a type of software of which Wikipedia is but one of the thousands of implementations. As per the rules. yes. They are there for a reason. it would be chaos otherwise, wouldn't you agree? We want people to contribute, but everybody, including you and me, must follow the rules.
2. Read Help:Wiki markup. You did not use it, therefore you message is all garbled into one long and unreadable sentence as you can see above this.
3. Your opinion on what constitutes experts, not mine. If you know about a subject and want to contribute, you are welcome, as long as you follow the Cardinal Rule.
4. Again, your choice.
5. Again, your opinion. -- Alexf(talk) 17:14, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

1. Thanks for a quick reply. i wrote a 48 page website (Alexa Rank 97k) without writing code purely on voice recognition.I suffer from Parkinson's disease making it difficult to to multiple press keystrokes. So as per your "rules" somebody like me has no rights to write for Wikipideia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramseas (talkcontribs) 17:32, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Not at all like that. Sorry about the disease. You do have the same rights as everybody else. If you do not, or cannot do all the proper formatting, that is not a problem, as someone will come along and fix that. The issue is not formatting but creating new articles that are acceptable. That means notable subjects with reliable sources. -- Alexf(talk) 17:46, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Please consider the following: 1. I put up a "list of hotels in hyderabad". I was building the list from 60 hotels to 180 hotels. This would include full address and contact details. Before i got a chance to show notable content, the post was deleted. Ive lived in this city 24 years. Do I make it notable by referring it to expedia/tripadvisor or to my own knowledge? 2. People like me dont want help. We want things to be user friendly. Do you think Wikipedia is user friendly? 3. How would you go about wring an article titled "How to learn bicycle balance"? Who would you refer to? Brgds Ramseas Batam-Island 18:24, 27 February 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramseas (talkcontribs)

(talk page stalker)1. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory; we have no place for things like directories of hotels in a particular town.
2. We are working on an easier-to-use editor; it's more complex than you'd think, to create something like that which won't break the current version.
3. If I were writing an article like that, it would be for some place which accepts such articles, not for Wikipedia, which does not. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:28, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Here is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hotels_in_Manila a link and here is another http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hotels_in_Dubai list of hotels in manila and dubai. Are you getting desperate or are you really that ignorant mate? Just type in "list" into your search box and then come back and talk. Maybe after you have done that we can discuss point number 3.Batam-Island 23:30, 27 February 2013 (UTC) Ramseas — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramseas (talkcontribs)
