3/22/08 trying to show notability to Johnny Depth article

Hi, ps I have been trying to search all over the Wikipedia site to find out how to prove Johnny Depth is notable, however with what I do find, I am having a difficult time understanding how to proceed. I appears I didn't code it the right way, with ((hangon)) or something but I am not sure, It is confusing. Can I just say that I find this person notable due to the number of books and magazines he has published and continues to publish under the name Shh! Productions similar to Hugh Hefner, and Howard Hughes in many ways.

What can I do next to have this submission included? Please share. Thanks, ```` (even signing name is confusing. Am I supposed to sign with ```?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shh3d (talkcontribs) 00:13, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Please read about notability, verifiability, reliable sources and secondary sources. That should give you all the information you need. Sign your posts in Talk with four tildes: ~~~~ Alexf42 00:44, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

1d black

Hi, just a quick courtesy note. You prompted the speedy deletion of the page 1d black. This is a widely used alternative to the term Penny Black, so I reinstated it. The abbreviation "d" was used for pre-decimal currency in the UK, and is not a typo for "p". Try googling 1d black. Cheers Dave (talk) 21:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

OK. Thanks. I learned a new on me. -- Alexf42 21:45, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Tony Ferguson

Im new to wikipedia and dont really understand it yet.

Im making a page for Troubadours bass player Tony Ferguson and it was deleted by you.

Can you please help me figure out how to get it back on? im still working on it aswell as learning how to use wikipedia itself.

Thanks

Tom Cutler

Tom, best is to work the article off-line until the article can pass notability and stand on its own, else an editor will tag it for speedy deletion as it happened. Please read WP:MUSIC for notability on your subject. Also read the Five Pillars of Wikipedia to understand how this works. Lastly, always remember to sign your posts in Talk with four tildes: ~~~~. -- Alexf42 23:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Would it be sufficient to start off the Zealandi Wave Power article with this sentence: "In the Earth's gravity at sea level, one Watt is approximately the power of one cubic foot of water in a one foot (peak height) wave crest filling the wave trough in one minute." - referenced to GEWP? Looks like you blocked this IP address based on a VoABot false positive. Please be more careful next time and READ the actual diff. Removal of trance.nu

Hi Alexf!

Trance.nu is a community with over 60 000 member, been online since 1999 and nets over 10 000 unique visitors daily. I'd like you to reconsider the removal of the page. As i firmly believe that it's of significance and worthy a spot on Wikipedia. Best regards, Tompalomp (talk) 23:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

It may well be, but the article as written, did not assert notability, did not have any reliable secondary sources, and read like an advertisement. An editor posted a speedy deletion request and as nobody placed a {{hangon}} tag and try to salvage it, the article was routinely deleted. -- Alexf42 23:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, i thought the speedy-deletion request was due to me using a text from the site itself. And removing that text would automatically remove the speedy request. I tried to write the article as neutral as possible, and since it was only online for a few days - its pretty hard for us to get any kind of secondary sources. I really hope you find it in you to undelete it so we can try and finish it. Best regards --Tompalomp (talk) 15:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Question on blocks

Hi, I've recently ventured into vandal fighting whenever I'm free. I'd like to know if only admins can block the users. Can I, as a regular editor, use these templates? Thanks! Mspraveen (talk) 17:09, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

No. Only admins can block/unblock. You cannot and should not use the blocking templates. You should use the warning templates (levels 1 to 4) and report vandals to AIV when needed so admins get notified. Thanks for your help. -- Alexf42 17:11, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying! Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 17:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, i thoroughly enjoyed reading your 'tips for the angry new user'. I found it very useful and heart-warming that wikipedia has such a responsible user like yourself (apologies if this sounded sarcastic, it was not intentional). Nevertheless, the rage got the better of me and i have decided to rant. Regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LeungM (talkcontribs) 00:14, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Sybris deletion

I'm contesting the deletion of "Sybris" The page should exist according to the wikipedia guidelines:

"It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1]"

Article from Spin magazine: [1]

Article from the San Francisco Chronicle: [2]

Article from Illinois Entertainer: [3]

"5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)."

Sybris has two albums out, one on Flameshovel Records whose roster includes Make Believe, Russian Circles and Maritime and the other on Absolutely Kosher Records whose roster includes The Wrens, Sunset Rubdown and Goblin Cock.

"7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability."

Sybris is one of the top indie-rock bands in Chicago earning invitations to Lollapalooza and Virgin Festival.

These should be more than adequate qualifications. Sybris (talk) 01:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)eric mahle

None of this is shown in the article. I restored it but it will be deleted soon unless you can prove notability under WP:BAND. As of this writing all it shows are links to its own website, plus facebook and other social networks, all unacceptable as reliable sources. Also, as per your name you seem to have a WP:COI going on too. Please read the indicated pages. -- Alexf42 01:20, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

When / how long for IP blocks

You've previously twice blocked an IP 84.1.245.51 for vandalism, so you're self-selected as a good person to ask. ;-)

After looking through the most recent spate of edits I've left a "stop changing numbers to incorrect values" message on the talk page.

Their first vandalism was elaborate but was rejected, and they seem to have settled on just changing numbers on football player pages to hide their vandalism. That they have been reverted by various IPs doesn't affect them.

Anyway, I popped up when they progressed to changing the population of Madrid by a few dozen percent. Considering that I can't find one decent edit after checking more than 10, and they're up to about 50 since December, what would be an appropriate next block interval? They went away for nearly a month after the last block, but picked up again where they left off. Shenme (talk) 05:11, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Looking them over I'd say the next one would be for a week. Keep an eye on them and report to AIV when needed. Thanks for your help. -- Alexf42 09:41, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

You are asking about a reverted edit way back from December?
I looked it up. You are correct, it was not vandalism. It was an WP:NPOV violation. It was properly reverted but incorrectly labeled.
Please read on WP:NPOV and always add a sub-title to a new section in Talk, and add your signature by using four tildes: (~~~~). Have a nice day. -- Alexf42 18:40, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Albinism and I have had 3 warnings

Hi Alex,

I have tried to edit the albinism page to enter a website address in "Albinism in Humans" and have attempted to put in * Albinism, through the eyes of Bianca A look at albinism from a person with OCA1 and how it has effected her over the past 25 years.

But it has come back with last warning, you are vandalising the site. The web site is about my daughter who has the most extreme case of albinism and is used by Universities and schools for there projects, infact it was one of them that suggested that I put the link in, which is why I am a newbie..... got off to a good start there then. We have been helping families from around the world for the past 6 years (montage page)so hopefully you can allow this now you realise that it is a genuine site to do with albinism.

Any more questions and i would be happy to answer..... lookforward to your reply.

Best regards Mike Knolwton (Mikeyred) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeyred (talkcontribs) 22:05, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Mike, it is not what *I* allow or not but what Wikipedia's policies and customs say. The best thing to do is to start a discussion about this in the article's Talk page (that's what is there for). If there is a consensus that it is an allowable link (read WP:EL), then it will be fine. Other editors like myself should not have a problem when there is consensus. Asking one edsitor in his personal page will not resolve the issue. Goods luck. -- Alexf42 22:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Valentina Trevino article

In deletion log of this article you`ve written "Real person; doesn't indicate importance/significance". This way all articles about youtube celebrities should be deleted. I was even planning to make article about her, I think it should be restored. 83.24.124.157 (talk) 20:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

OK. I see your point. Article has been restored. It is up to you to place a {{hangon}} tag and assert notability, else it may be deleted by any other admin. Good luck. -- Alexf42 21:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Greenbooklive

Hi Alexf, I was wondering if you would reconsider Greenbooklive - it is a worthy cause towards providing information & sustainable sourcing for the building sector & consumers and was referenced. What was the problem for speedy deletion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Woolleymk (talkcontribs) 08:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

An editor tagged it with {{db-spam}} and {{db-web}} as it read like advertisement and did not assert notability. I looked it up again and see that it may have merit and with some work it might be usable. I am not an expert on the subject and cannot guarantee that a rework might pass muster with other editors, but if you are willing to give it a try I could move it to your user space for you to work on it. Also, please remember to sign your messages with four tildes: ~~~~. -- Alexf42 09:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Mystery vandalism

Alex, I received a message from you asserting that someone using my computer's IP address had vandalised the Dmitri Mendeleev page. I've checked the history of the page and, indeed, it shows my IP address as making a change in early March. Clicking on that IP address also shows two other changes on the same day to another page. I am puzzled and disturbed by this, since I had nothing to do with either change and have no interest in either subject. No-one else has access to my computer. I am a registered Wikipedia user and here is my contributions page [[4]]. How can this happen? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chudditch (talkcontribs) 19:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I can't say without knowing your IP address and ISP. Best guess is that you do not have a dedicated IP address (few people do). Your ISP (telephone company, cable modem, etc.) has a pool of IP addresses that they share with their customers. Every time you connect or reconnect you may get a different one. Some other customers of your ISP are vandalizing Wikipedia using one of the addresses you had shared. This should not be a problem for you if you always log in with your named account. When and if you are traveling and log-in from elsewhere (or from work) and do not want to use your named account, you'll get a different IP address anyway. -- Alexf42 20:57, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

WALL-E Builders

5 April 2008 Hello, I was trying to create a Wikipedia page concerning the WALL-E Builders Group. I am new to Wikipedia and tried to create a page with information that is correct and gives a base to allow for further information.

I included links to the information that shows my facts are correct.

Very shortly after I posted the page it was marked for deletion.

Could you please help me understand why this was marked and is there anything that I can add to keep it from being deleted again?

I also wanted to connect my page to the WALL-E page.

Sincerely,

OhioAstromech I can supply my name if needed

Hello Alex!

Hope your having a good day. Recently I was trying to upload an article and it ended up getting deleted. I am new to Wikipedia (as in this is my first article) and figuring out how to appropriately put my ideas across is hard when it is constantly deleted by someone else. mind you there are various musicians throughout wiki at the same level as me whom retain Wikipedia articles and nothing happens to them (they DONT get deleted), I mean these are articles (the ones I mentioned others having) that were made when they were kids and unsigned and not doing anything that 200000 people haven’t already done before. I have a friend that lists like 3 shows done all as a kid and all the band members were kids and were unsigned and not professionally recorded, (the only tapes of any of these shows are privately owned vhs home videos) only the people who were at the shows or whom were close friends with them know who their band is, if this is enough to get on wiki than how come mine isn’t? I work very hard and travel a lot, play heavily and support drug reform. I am a SERIOUS musician trying to put the basics of myself (which can be cited- if I could figure out how to fully cite things and not get things deleted halfway through on me) up on a domain that’s open to public access. that’s all, im not going to profit in any way from this, these are things that are written elsewhere about myself both by myself and other individuals and if you want to listen to my music, it’s ALL OVER the internet. which is sort of the main reason im writing, I met a few people that work for wiki and they told me they do what you do (here at least), but the thing is they have to make sure your not self promoting/promoting others but it has to be something that is citable- there other places backing it up/talking about it (the subject).

How could I make this article presentable in a way that is satisfactory to both the standards of Wikipedia and the author (I)?

Also; how can I fully cite things????

Thank you so much for reading and helping maintain of wikipedia, Alex.

Take care. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canvaslovedrops (talkcontribs) 18:50, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a business directory or a promotion site. If your busines is notable then it might be ok to have an article on it. Please read WP:BFAQ and WP:COI before you continue. -- Alexf42 00:11, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Please explain

Can you please explain why you deleted the Quantic Designs entry I made today? (Quantic_Designs)

They hold the registered trademark for 'Quantic' in the UK so it is appropriate to list them under the Quantic page.

There are lots of company entries in Wiki less valid such as: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S2blue

Can you please explain how this was advertising when the only thing cited was the registered trademark and no advertising content whatsoever? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JonahBaxter (talkcontribs) 13:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

WTF?

You have sent me a message about a page I have not edited. Not only that, but you reprove me for editing another page I haven't edited. Indeed, I have not contributed to Wikipedia for some considerable time, mainly because of the squabbling and petty backbiting that goes on here.

When someone begins vandalizing again as their first edits after block expiration, isn't it normal procedure to simply extend the block? Why would you go back through a warning cycle?Kww (talk) 17:35, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I understand your frustration. Believe me, as a vandal fighter I have it too, but it is an IP, where the users are most likely not the same that did the original vandalism to begin with, therefore at least level 3 or level 4 warning (one that says they will be blocked) is customary. As soon as they trap themselves in they will get a severe block. -- Alexf42 18:16, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Could you please block this user, as this person constantly changed important items on film articles such as confirmed release dates, and also gives irrelevant external links. I've tried putting comments in the infoboxes and relevant sections to warn people not to do it, but apparently this person doesn't get the message.--EclipseSSD (talk) 21:44, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

User has no warnings whatsoever. Needs to have at least a level 3 or level 4 warning (one that says they will be blocked). Furthermore the place to ask for blocks, once properly warned is at AIV. -- Alexf42 22:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

my deletion

you deleted my article about sam shallah. i understand why you deleted this, but i assure you this is not a personal attack or joke. sam shallah is a character in my short novel called "Sammy's Sewage Adventure" for my junior english class. i'm new to wikipedia, and as he is a funny character i wanted to make a page about him. i was going to add more depth to the kind of dynamic character he is in the book tomorrow during class. i understand if you think this is a form of cyberbullying or something, but please just look into it and message me back when you have time. Thank you, gb4580. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gb4580 (talkcontribs) 02:07, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

good move

I was going to ask for a block, but he got a final warning by another editor. So I posted the diff. Igor Berger (talk) 02:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Hope you realize that as you have not posted a link or a diff, I've no idea what article/user you are talking about. -- Alexf42 10:18, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I guess you block thousands of them everyday..:) User_talk:Yermel Thanks for the mop and the bucket! Igor Berger (talk) 10:25, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I see now. Not thousands but dozens. -- Alexf42 10:30, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Well keep up the good work. We need admins with watchful eyes. Saves us patrolmen from go to AVI. Also, I always check their edit history when I catch one, so if I see a vandal only account I mark them, even if they do not get blocked per AVI, they are on my radar. Igor Berger (talk) 10:34, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your help in protecting the project, and do report them to AIV when needed. -- Alexf42 10:36, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

O'Connor's Landing

Hi Alexf,

You just deleted my O'Connor's Landing article. There is no promotion as it is a defunct business from last century, yet it is an important part of Indian Lake's history as it was one of the original lake resorts and meant fond memories of the area for generations of families. Some have heard of it, but I can't find any internet information on it, so I thought of Wiki. I do have a good reference for much of the information, but was going to edit it once the article was posted, along with adding some photos. Considering this additional info, do you 1. have any suggestions on how this would be wiki-worthy? or 2. would you suggest a wiki alternative for this type of article?

Thank you for your time,

OconRecon (talk) 14:25, 12 April 2008 (UTC)John

"OconRecon"—Preceding unsigned comment added by OconRecon (talkcontribs) 14:13, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

The article was not deleted as promotion (Wikipedia:CSD#G11) but as non-notable (Wikipedia:CSD#A7). If you can make the article's subject notable so much the better. I've restored the article to your user space at User:OconRecon/O'Connor's Landing for you to work on. Good luck. -- Alexf42 15:46, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

FC Barca

Actually the changes made were correct..Check it yourself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.112.137.197 (talk) 22:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

This edit messed up the layout, and if you know about Barça, you know that Ronaldinho hasn't played in weeks, is in some kind of problem with management and likely on the way out. -- Alexf42 23:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Regarding my YouTubePoop Article

You have a keen sense to your editing. But that topic is not a un-needed article here on wikipedia. If you have a problem that is too bad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DragonX83 (talkcontribs) 03:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

ray miller

hello alexf, you just deleted my page Ray Miller UK. This is one of the first entries i have made so it is highly unlikely to be perfect. the reason for my inclusion is due to the fact that i am a senior communicatior in europes largest local government authority and people wish to know more about me. Is that enough for you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iprcom (talkcontribs) 20:41, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

It is not "what's enough for me" but rather what complies with Wikipedia's policies. To write about any particular person (let alone yourself) you first need to read about notability. Also I'd recommend you read about conflicts of interest and as per your last comment, you should understand what Wikipedia is not. Maybe you'd be better served by having a blog or a page in Facebook or other social networks perhaps? -- Alexf42 21:26, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Frankie Valli Edits

Alexf,

I see this occasional editing of genres for the Frankie Valli article and am a bit puzzled.

This artist has performed standards (I would call this Pop), performed R&B (as far back as when he recorded Otis Blackwell material as part of The Four Lovers), performed Doo Wop as well as Rock as part of The 4 Seasons. It could even be said there is a Motown influence (never more evident than on The 4 Seasons recording, "Opus 17"). I suppose one could combine Pop and Rock into Pop Rock, but I find that category over done.

I would state the genres for Frankie Valli as Pop, R&B, Doo Wop, Rock.

Also, I would capitalize the genres as Doo Wop, Pop, Pop Rock, Rock, etc. I think there's precedent for that.

I make this comment knowing it is somewhat subjective. Since I wrote some of the text, I have an interest in this.

Thank you,

Bbrownlie (talk) 23:29, 24 April 2008 (UTC)bbrownlie

Sorry but that subject is way out of my editing expertise. The only edit I ever did in that article was to revert vandalism from a known vandal. -- Alexf42 00:48, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I apologize. I guess I'm getting used to the history tab and how it shows who did what.

You.

Alexf.

Your pessimistic attitude and harshness towards new members of Wikipedia is not a part of this website I appreciate. Rather, your frequent bans of IP addresses and deletion of select pages is confusing and misplaced. I don't understand why not only you shun new people away from Wikipedia but encourage them to go to other websites. Of course, I do not expect you to take any initiative off this statement. You will probably just delete this post as soon as it has passed your prying eyes. I'll wait for my vandalism ban. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.237.26.205 (talk) 01:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. First of all Wikipedia is not a website but a Wiki. Very different. Secondly, there's no attitude as you allude, just my job to protect the project as part of my admin duties. Third I don't do bans, but blocks, also a different concept. Lastly, there is nothing wrong with exercising your right to comment. If you have any issues with my performance as admin and want to make a complain, I'll be happy to point you in the right direction (you can start at ANI). Also, please don't forget to sign your posts in Talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf42 01:47, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

use of material with permision

Alexf, I recently had my Tao HsieH Wu Shu wiki deleted because of copy right infringement. I am one of the mojor contributors in the creation of this new art and have express permission to use this information from the Founder Joel Geniesse. I fail to see how this is copyright infringment. I would like to keep the page up please.

Ggama (talk) 11:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC) GGAMA

I have restored the article you mentioned (it is not a Wiki but an article) to your user space as User:Ggama/TaoHsiehWuShu for you to work on. Before continuing you should read Wikipedia's policies on notability. The article was deleted because it was a violation of copyright which WP takes seriously. If you fix the article and assert notability it might be able to stay. There are no guarantees that any other editor may or may not challenge its notability, so be prepared to respond and fix whatever is necessary. -- Alexf42 11:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I am new to wiki and will do my best to work on it

exposer

Dear Alex,

I saw you marked my article entitled "exposer" for speedy deletion, because you felt it was an ad.

I would like to spotlight the fact that it is an article about a free program, not a product. Nothing is for sale here.

Another thing I noticed just before you deleted the article is that an example (fake) URL I typed for explanational purpose was displayed as a real URL by the wiki editor, which maybe has misled you to think the article was an ad.

So, In case you don't change your mind, could you please at least let me access my article as I do not have a copy anywhere else.

Thank you in advance, Yours

Parakeet59 (talk) 11:56, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Note that I did not mark the article fror deletion, some other editor did. Besides advertising it did not assert notability. I have restored the article to your user space as User:Parakeet59/exposer for you to work on. Before continuing you should read Wikipedia's policies on notability. -- Alexf42 12:03, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
You wrote that you did not delete my article, then I let you verify that wikipedia wrote on top of it: "10:13, 25 April 2008 Alexf (Talk | contribs) deleted "Exposer" ‎ (G11: Blatant advertising")
So maybe something is misconfigured in your software.
No. Read carefully what I wrote. I did not mark it for deletion as you had said. I did delete it but did not place the CSD tag on it. -- Alexf42 14:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I still don't understand why it was deleted. I re-read it carefully (and the notability guideline) and I found that although unfinished, it already gives usefull information (that solved once my problem when I wanted to host file on my home computer). Too bad.

Thank you for making it available again, I made a copy so you can delete it for good now. I will use another place for this article and forget about wikipedia.

Yours, Parakeet59 (talk) 13:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

If you mean the article, it was already deleted. If you mean your subpage, please place a {{db-userreq}} tag on it to request deletion of the page. -- Alexf42 14:10, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
I mean I am not using WP any more. Ciao. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Parakeet59 (talkcontribs) 16:08, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, and oops, on Deadbeat parents

I just realized I needed Deadbeat parent (singular) deleted, not the plural. No harm done, as it was a redirect with only one bot edit. I'll do the moves and make the correct redirects, but could you also delete Deadbeat parent? I marked it as G6 speedy as well. Thanks for the double mop duty. JackSchmidt (talk) 21:15, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! All fixed, including the double redirects and talk page move. JackSchmidt (talk) 21:23, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Martin's Brandon Church

Would you please undelete Martin's Brandon Church so that i can develop it. That was just too abrupt.

It was a one sentence stub with an infobox already and a Talk page pointing to references to add, and it was documented that the site is listed on the U.S. National Register. It was not "incoherent" or "patent nonsense".

Check my edit history if you like.

Please undelete. doncram (talk) 21:27, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Note, the apparently ungrammatical name is not a mistake, that is the historical name of the site, as in Martin's Brandon being an alternative name for Brandon Plantation. doncram (talk) 21:33, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Are you there? Are you same or different person than User Zginder, who provided notice of the deletion pending to my talk page, seconds before or perhaps after it was already deleted. doncram (talk) 21:40, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I was not online when you wrote. You can always check user's contributions to see when was the last time they edited. That'll give you an idea if they are online or not. I see you restarted the article and possibly asserted notability. I am not the same user that tagged the article for speedy deletion. I'm the admin that deleted the article as it did not assert notability and seemed like a hoax. Your original indication that it was listed in the US National Reg of Historic Places only pointed to the main page of that agency. You should always point to a link that validates your claim, not a general link to the website in question. -- Alexf42 22:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Kai (drummer) just came back.

Kai (drummer) just came back after speedy deletion. Suggest deletion and salt. --John Nagle (talk) 01:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

On second thought, please wait. From the The Gazette (band) article, this musician does meet WP:BAND. It's just that the new editor didn't put in enough info. Sorry. --John Nagle (talk) 01:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. A fan created a band article as their first edit, but didn't put enough in it, and it was flagged on RC patrol. It's a reasonably successful band, apparently. Four entries in Gracenote, so they meet WP:BAND. I put some info about their most successful album in the article as an indication of notability. --John Nagle (talk) 01:34, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! Johnbod (talk) 10:45, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Rachel Elizabeth Dare

Just a friendly note: you might want to double check the wording for G1, which you gave as a reason for deleting Rachel Elizabeth Dare. I can't see any way that article met the criteria. (I'm not saying it didn't need to go -- I'm sure the AfD would have resulted in deletion as non-notable. Just that this article wasn't speediable.)--Fabrictramp (talk) 23:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Point taken. Thanks! -- Alexf42 01:16, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
