Michael Atkinson edits

Hi Ammarpad - just wondering where I've gone wrong in editing the page of Michael Atkinson - you've removed an updated edit to current events; but I've provided a number of sources, and think that a position of neutrality has been maintained. (forgive me as I'm new to all this ! ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Atkinson Stavros Gamer (talk) 04:05, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi @Stavros Gamer: the reason is that "adding controversy section to BLP" is not as easy as other edits like correcting typo or expanding existing paragraph with sourced content. In this edit –which is also your first edit– you introduced something which is controversial fact. So I am not against complete removal or outright insertion and I agree you've sources, but the more appropriate thing to do is post at its talkpage and get some views from other editors and those who routinely edit the page especially since you've just started editing. –Ammarpad (talk) 05:03, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the advise Ammarpad - I'll do just that. Stavros Gamer (talk) 00:24, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Request on 12:30:57, 4 December 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by Ysholoh

Ysholoh (talk) 12:30, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

Good afternoon, dear Wikipedia administrators!

I am very grateful to you for your work and assistance in editing this article. I'm trying to add sources and links to the article that will make it clearer for the free encyclopedia audience.

Firstly, it should be noted that Ukraine is a European country that receives significant support from the international community. The National Bank of Ukraine seeks to integrate into the general European and world financial system. Many international companies and experts are following the reforms of the banking sector in Ukraine. In this regard, information about the head of the central bank of Ukraine is important information for business circles and the press, and its availability on the site of English-language Wikipedia is logical and makes a big sense.

Secondly, the significance of the person of the acting head of the National Bank of Ukraine is confirmed by the presence of pages in the Russian-language and Ukrainian versions of Wikipedia: Yakov Smoli's page on the Wikipedia ukr version: https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%BB%D1%96%D0%B9%D0%AF%D0 % BA% D1% 96% D0% B2_% D0% 92% D0% B0% D1% 81% D0% B8% D0% BB% D1% 8C% D0% BE% D0% B2% D0% B8% D1% 87 Wikipedia Yakov Smolia's page on the Russian version of Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B9,_%D0%AF % D0% BA% D0% BE% D0% B2_% D0% 92% D0% B0% D1% 81% D0% B8% D0% BB% D1% 8C% D0% B5% D0% B2% D0% B8% D1 % 87

Thirdly, in the English version of the free encyclopedia, there are pages of heads of central banks in a number of countries, for example: Russia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvira_Nabiullina Italy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignazio_Visco Germany: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jens_Weidmann

Below are some references that may explain our desire to create an English-language page of the current head of the Ukrainian central bank - Acting Head of the National Bank of Ukraine in May 2017 - Yakov Smoliy.

You are welcome here @Ysholoh:. The problem is that you didn't add these references in the draft when I reviewed it and it is generally not ready for mainspace then. Also note that Draftspace is temporary place meant for fixing such problems. Now I will start rewriting the draft for you using these English sources then you should cite the Russuian or Ukrainian ones to support remaining claims, with translation as need be.. And please learn inline citation in reference for beginners so as to use them; it is very important in biography of living people. Any more question ask me here while we work together to fix it. how do i create my own articles

I have tried creating articles, but i keep getting the speedy deletion notification. Perharps you can tutor me a bit — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobychampion (talkcontribs) 07:13, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

@Bobychampion: It seems your previous article where deleted for being promotional content. This means you should first these two important policy pages (WP:NOT and WP:NPOV). You can also read the Wikipedia's WP:5PILLARS. And when next you want create new page, make sure the topic/subject is already notable and write in neutral language with claims referenced to reliable sources. When you're all sure of that you can start your article from here. If you're unsure of anything ask question, and it is not necessarily for you to create page, you can start fixing typos and reading policy and guideline pages so as to integrate fully into the community, before you start creating pages. I hope you'll find this helpful. –Ammarpad (talk) 07:37, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey

I just wanted to take a break from the exchange at AfD to say that even if I don't agree with all your decisions, I do appreciate your contributions to the project (and especially AfC). I hope you'll understand that my arguments, reversions and pointing-out of mistakes were not made out of spite, but in hope that they would provide perspective and guide further improvements. So please don't take them personally. And I'll also try not to. Thanks. --Paul_012 (talk) 08:47, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

I also do appreciate your overall work to Wikipedia. My replies are only meant to reinforce my reason for nominating the article for deletion. They were never meant to call out anybody. Albeit I nominated it for deletion, it will likely close as merge, and I am content with that compromise (as you also agreed). We both don't own Wikipedia, we are only working to improve its content. Thanks. –Ammarpad (talk) 07:46, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

GREEK WIKIPEDIA = UNCYCLOPEDIA

Dear user,

I am writing to you because I randomly find your profile account in my talk page. If it's not a big deal, I would like to discuss with you, an english user, about the Greek Wikipedia "ΒΙΚΙΠΑΙΔΕΙΑ". In this greek version of wiki, admins do not allow users like me to make changes which are correct and documented but they still write untrue and false information. They don't use any trustworthy source but they find unreliable sources from blogs, unreliable sites or they write anything that they come up with. Unfortunately, there are not many reliable greek sources on the internet, so they are always telling me that I can't prove my claims and they also use those fly-by-night sources as evidence. What could I do about this issue? I believe that the original english wikipedia should find a solution to this problem, because greek wikipedia is like an "uncyclopedia", the parody of wikipedia, and this maybe also be defamatory for wikipedia too. I hope, you could do something about it or give me some advice.

Thanks, for your time

@ΔΗΜΗΤΡΗΣ Κ: You're welcome here. I will first advise you to go and talk with the administrators at your Greek Wikipedia and see if the misunderstanding can be resolved. However, if you still think your complain is genuine you should post your complain at m:Stewards' noticeboard. The page is in Meta Wiki, the global Wiki community that co-ordinate and is able to discuss such kind of problem about all Wikimedia projects, including Greek Wikipedia. –Ammarpad (talk) 01:21, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Dear user,

Thanks for welcoming and quick reply. I am a wikipedia user for many years and all this time I was discussing with those amateurs about this issue, but they were always deriding and turning me down. That's why I wrote to you. What exactly is this "Stewards' noticeboard"? How can I use it? Would you mind explain me? About the co-ordination that you mentioned, I think that a solution could be, if wikipedia stops allowing to anyone to become admin and set the same admins from english wikipedia to greek wikipedia, if is this possible. However, this issue concerns me as much as all of you, english and american users, because I can't deal with those unrepentants anymore. So, only a drastic solution may solve the problem or it will remain unsolved. ΔΗΜΗΤΡΗΣ Κ (talk) 01:49, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Just click on the link, you'll see where you'll land. And you can write all your complain just like how you write this now. –Ammarpad (talk) 19:16, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello,

I wrote to Stewards' noticeboard but a user answered me this:https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Stewards%27_noticeboard#GREEK_WIKIPEDIA_=_UNCYCLOPEDIA. It seems that he was bored to deal with the issue. I expected behaviours like that because the majority of people does not care about issues like that. But please, if it's not a big deal, tell me your opinion about the issue that I complain. Do you think that I am wrong? Ι just want someone else's opinion.--ΔΗΜΗΤΡΗΣ Κ (talk) 22:32, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

ANI

I interpreted your statement "arguing from authority", as somehow me wrongfully claiming I created the BMW E46 3-Series article or telling everyone to not edit there anymore, when that would be so detrimental to its quality or enrichment of new information. I haven't done that, so I asked you otherwise, to fully grasp what you meant. It is all about perception and as two different people, we will see things differently in text, until fully explained on both sides. The impression I am getting from you, is one of which I have wonder if is being fair & impartial, in not constructively highlighting the full context of why you perceive it to be me solely arguing from authority. I made that edit summary, under the impression that the other user assumed I am a petulant Wiki vandal there to "wreck articles" and needs to revert every edit of mine on that basis. They are knowledgeable and I am also knowledgeable, but I perceived that they felt otherwise by seeing their actions as condescension and observed it as them seeing an opportunity to sweep out what they saw as "an ignorant" user's contributions.

Out of frustration, I reinstated what I read from BMW E46 designer Erik Goplen's resumes, Chris Bangle's design patent, and Wolfgang Reitzle's commentary from interviews and asserted that I wasn't making things up out of thin air by establishing my professional background. It was unnecessarily done by me in a very brash manner and very much didn't need to be, but are you really being fair here?

At least against my own previous ANI page naive observation and question towards you? Especially me as someone that has made so many contributions to this site, while originally having to encounter terribly uncivil users at times over the years, that were never reprimanded for verbally abusing me in the past? That really sours someone young over time, if all they deal with is vandals and editors that might attempt to micromanage articles and entirely push others out. Then see the work of vandals in some cases, spread across the internet as supposed fact, in being missed (not reverted or corrected) by other users quickly.

I can correct very easily my behaviour and help to create an excellent editing environment. However, I am not the only user on Wikipedia unfortunately. Particularly when several curt and condescending personalities try to intimidate many of the rest of us, without administrator intervention to ease our concerns. I base this on talk pages, where I cannot help but feel bad, for other users (well-meaning) that have been bullied into not contributing by select users, who are getting corrupt support in some cases.

In a much more differing case, I have felt a bit targeted, considering how very toxic editors remain unchallenged in making some of us uncomfortable and never raising an eyebrow with administrators. Being "tough" was unfortunately my way of ensuring troublesome IP users coming as trolls and vandals, stop abusing Wikipedia articles with deliberate errors, plus desperately defending the removal/dumbing down of my contributions. It is seen as me being egoistic and uncivil, which I understand. That clearly doesn't work and is too controversial I am now seeing, so that isn't something to be continued in any way, present or absent. It is not my job to police Wikipedia articles, which was quite silly of me to think so. If there is a WP template for policing (a la incivility) I can read up on, I would like to learn from it. As I have been very ignorant of many WP templates (ie WP:TRIVIA), which is inexcusable after all these years.--Carmaker1 (talk) 07:58, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Even in my comment I didn't say you're not good editor in general, as I've never communicated with you to know. But with the several diffs of your inappropriate edit summaries in the ANI thread plus the fact you have been subject to similar complaint about this, it is reasonable to deduce in communication with fellow editors you unarguably score very low for both breaching WP:CIVIL in the greater percentage of your edit summaries and the the sustained argument with your claimed "insider knowledge", which is well " arguing from authority and incompatible with collaborative environment like this. Nonetheless, I know it takes two to tango, so I decide not make further comment but on the limited knowledge of both of you, but I hope every decision reached by the community will bring an end to the problem. –Ammarpad (talk) 12:25, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

Amity Shlaes

I've taken note of the fact that you twice reverted my minor edit.

Let it be known to you that she was summarily dismissed from the Financial Times after her "coverage" of Katrina. It is also widely known that she is little more than a soft-boiled version of Ann Coulter (in my more serene moments, I'd like to think that in WikiSpeak, "controversial" merely is a synonym for "stupid".)

As regards potential accusations of "vandalism", I should like to point out to you that I have a history of hounding out vandals on WP, to the point where I was asked to become a regular contributor (I declined, because the very thought of ochlocracy - which is the essence of WP - fatigues me.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.0.189.132 (talk) 18:29, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Why did you change your phrase from this to "summarily dismissed" on this talkpage?! Is it now that you know "dismissed" exist, or you don't have confidence in your edit? –Ammarpad (talk) 18:34, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
I'll be as gentle as I can: "summarily dismissed", "unceremoniously sacked", "got rid off without further ado", or simply "fired" all mean the same in English - it's merely a matter of registers - and I chose the latter for the sake of brevity, being fully aware of the average Wikipedian's attention span. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.0.189.127 (talk) 21:01, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

ACC tool access request approved

Ammarpad, thank you for your interest in the account creation process. I have verified that you are identified to the Wikimedia Foundation and approved your request.

You may now access the interface here pending a tool root marking your account as identified in the tool database. Before you begin handling requests, please ensure you have read and understood the account creation guide and username policy to familiarise yourself with the process.

Please subscribe yourself to the private ACC mailing list following the instructions on that page. I also advise that you also join us on IRC #wikipedia-en-accounts connect where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and you can get real time advice on how to handle requests.

Please note failure to correctly assess requests will result in suspension of tool access. Account creation is not a race, and each one should be handled diligently and thoroughly. Releasing personally identifying information (such as IP and email addresses), whether intentionally or unintentionally, is treated very seriously and will generally result in immediate suspension.

Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day, and you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked as "Flagged user needed" on the interface. However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM/ACC.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome!  Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 09:33, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

Submitting for approval

I made changes to the Wikipedia entry "Where Are We?" and I think it is better now but I do not know how to resubmit it for approval. Can you help me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjsbff (talkcontribs) 17:39, 19 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi @Mjsbff: when you're done just copy this {{subst:Submit}} and paste it at the top of the page, then save your edit like you normally do. But before that I am advising you to read guideline MOS:PLOT and this essay then use the guidance and improve the plot section of the draft. Also you provided unconfirmed budget without source, it will soon be challenged by other editors. If you can't find source for something you want add, just better leave it till when the source become available, there's no deadline here. Thanks. –Ammarpad (talk)

20:24:12, 5 December 2017 review of submission by GeminiWriter

Hi. I'm requesting a review because 2 of the sources (Houston Press and Houston Chronicle) are major newspapers in the Texas market. Please advise what other sources to use for pop culture.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeminiWriter (talkcontribs)

Hi, @GeminiWriter: Bear with my belated response. Now on your question; you are not asked to change the source you used but to add more. You only provided one reference from Houston Press and another from Wikipedia. After I suggested you removed that from Wikipedia and you did now remain only 1 reference which is not sufficient to support an article. You can use the "Find sources" links in the draft to find more sources. Also if he has alternate name use it for searching too. –Ammarpad (talk) 08:24, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Recent edits and reverts

I don’t intend to get into an edit war, but I don’t understand why you cut three entries in the subject’s filmography. The entries are supported by a secondary source (IMDB). Maybe you can explain to me the logic of your edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.214.108.251 (talk)

Thank you for your recent Keep on Bruce Maitland Carruthers. In the case of Alan Colwell he was deleted in a few days after two comments. I wonder if you had a view on that bio. Castlemate (talk) 06:29, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

@Castlemate:. No I haven't, so I don't know its content. I followed Adsfvdf54gbb's case at AN, that's where I came across your few AfD'd pages which I tried finding sources and succeed in getting some kept. Although his action is suspicious leading to this ban, I hope if you should recheck guidelines before creating any biography, or any article for that matter, it will help a lot. It is also helpful to refrain from creating biographies which are called "bare minimum", i.e people who are half-notable. Such articles can remain on Wikipedia for long time but once nominated for AfD, their chance of survival is near zero, and I think that's the case of (some) of your article which he targeted. –Ammarpad (talk) 14:57, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

James Levine article lede section

The material on the cutting of ties with Levine by the Metropolitan Opera, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Rivinia Festival because of multiple detailed allegations published in the New York Times of sexual abuse by Levine of teenage make music students is highly significant to this article and is fully sourced in the body of the article. Footnotes and citations are not normally included in the lede but appear instead in main article. Do NOT delete this consensus supported material again. If you have an issue with it you must bring that up in the article's Talk Page first. Centpacrr (talk) 16:32, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

@Centpacrr: If when you reverted me here, you used meaningful edit summary I wouldn't have reverted again. Check the the history of the page and see what caused my first revert. In fact I came across the IP's edit via possible BLP issue or vandalism tag, that's why I thought the IP is introducing it, and I had to act fast. But your uncivil edit summary is particularly unbecoming of you Ammarpad (talk) 16:45, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
I apologize if you found my edit summary "uncivil" as it was certainly not intended to be so. Your first reversion removing this material actually gave no reason at all to delete the material that had been restored after 146.52.252.124 had removed it giving no reason either. Your second reversion then claimed it was unsourced which it was not as citations are not normally used in a lede and the information is fully sourced and cited in the section of the entry on the sexual abuse allegations, This reversion of yours was actually the third time in less than 12 hours that this relevant material had been removed without adequate reason given, and so that's why when I restored it I felt it was appropriate to include "DO NOT DELETE AGAIN WITHOUT DISCUSSING IN TALK" to avoid getting in an edit war over including this essential information in the lede. As I said it was not intended to be "uncivil" but to prevent a potential edit war from developing. Centpacrr (talk) 17:52, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
@Centpacrr: I understand your point and you're right. But let me clarify it with timeline better, I hope you'll get me too.
  • I am patrolling the edits tagged with possible BLP issue or vandalism as I always do. Then I saw this edit. My immediate thought is that, the IP is introducing the content after someone removed it as unsourced. I never thought it exists before, I never edit the page before.
  • To answer your question,on why my first revert have no edit summary, it is because it was marked minor edit since my intention was removing (what I thought is) "defamatory content" restored by IP. But in the second revert, it wasn't so, so I did explain clearly.
  • Then after several hours, I just saw my edit was reverted as "vandalism" i.e your revert. So this is what makes me did the second revert largely because of characterizing my edit as vandalism because as far as know even when I am fresh newbie I never did the slightest of what can be categorized as vandalism here. And partly because the text is too large without supporting citation.
  • After your second revert, even if you don't write anything in edit summary I will not revert you, because I never editwar, and have personal policy of avoiding it at all cost, even if I am right, since it will neither be meaningful both to me and to Wikipedia.
  • So I hope you'll understand it is not my intention to remove (or censor) something from the page (which is likely what are you are thinking of). But generally to remove what I thought was unsourced in BLP. And alll in all, this is just little misunderstanding and I assure it's over as per as from my part. Thanks. Ammarpad (talk) 07:38, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Agree with Centpacrr. And Cent may be annoyed because an IP is deleting that same language, without cause.
That said, a tag - even on what an IP wrote - is not reason to not make certain that your deletion is warranted. Which here, as Cent points out, it was not, it just so happens. Thanks. 2604:2000:E016:A700:48AD:F0AC:6ECD:35D6 (talk) 04:04, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Frank C. Craighead, Sr.

Hi there, sorry but I couldn't care less about you not accepting Draft:Frank C. Craighead, Sr. and frankly I had not expected otherwise from the *cough*community of experts*cough* at Wikipedia I've given up on the usefulness of contributing to Wikipedia long ago. I corrected a stupid mistake that Wikipedia was broadcasting into the world for years and even gave you an article stub on the icon of entomology that you should have linked, and linked to this from the article on his sons (that was erroneously linked in the error I corrected) and even added references. Now, Wikipedia could possibly just be happy that someone takes some time to correct your stupid mistakes and even provides you with a stub for an article on the correct person, including references (and all this in spite of an intangible mess off editing conventions for references or whatever, that frankly no occasional "editor" who is just trying to help you correct your own mistakes should ever be required to look into), but no: Instead of gladly accepting what is given to you and work with it, Wikipedia insists on nagging about bull shit procedures and rules and prefers to toss away what is given to them. Good luck with your project :o) Cheers, Arp — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.204.141.198 (talk)

Please sorry for your bad experience here. (I will reply you in detail soon, please bear with me now.) –Ammarpad (talk) 22:02, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

I will add sources and improve the draft myself. I just want you to understand on Wikipedia there are no seniors. We are all equal and we are all volunteers. I understand your grievance and hope you should understand the reviewers of the drafts and the processes involved. Reviewers are not employed to find sources and add content to drafts submitted but only to review those that meets the minimum standard and topics with clearly notability. Thank you for correcting that mistake but I am not the one who you helped and don't expect me to pay you back. But you indeed do help the the largest repository of human knowledge, you edit is counted and logged and is among the bit and bit that made up this encyclopedia. That's the reason must drafts are rejected because of not complying with either policy, lack of notability, or clear focus. I hope you'll shelve your decision of quitting and even decide to create an account so that you can help in writing this compendium of human knowledge. Thanks. –Ammarpad (talk) 23:48, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
I do have an account that I used to use, but editing WP is a total waste of time. Not because WP is a bad idea per se, but because 90%++ of effort is wasted in utterly senseless discussions, procedures and bickering about the two, as opposed to trying to improve content. We have already spent more time and letters on _nothing_ here than on the whole article. Enjoy your time at WP, I can donate my time more efficiently and positively elsewhere. Sources

Hello, can you please add your sources to Moira Gatens? At the moment, it seems to be an unreferenced biography of a living person. 'External links' means 'suggestions for further reading' rather than sources - if this was your source, please change the heading, and, for all living people's articles, it needs to be WP:INLINECITED. It is also only a primary source. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 07:45, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

@Boleyn: Your template is for articles that don't have sources completely, read its documentation. By the way it is under construction, and the body text (which will have inline citation) is not yet added. –Ammarpad (talk) 08:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. I'm not sure what you mean by my template, I haven't used one. My message was for a page with no clear sources (which this is) and an explanation about external links in case you had added your sources, you had just mislabeled their heading. Glad it's under construction - you may want to add an {under construction} banner so it isn't tagged for deletion. It's usually easier to work on these for a while in draftspace or your sandbox, otherwise it goes straight through to New Page Patrol with red writing next to it flagging up its lack of citations, and that makes it more likely to be tagged. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 11:21, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

Sources

Hello, can you please add your sources to 2018 in Ghana? Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 17:41, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

@Boleyn: Tag exactly what needs to be sourced with {{citation needed}} which is made for that purpose. –Ammarpad (talk) 19:10, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Ammarpad, I'm confused by your response. It would be redundant to add these - the entire article is unsourced and the WP:BURDEN is on you to add sources to every piece of information you add. Boleyn (talk) 19:29, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Then what exactly should be sourced?? Can you copy the exact statement?. If you, who ask for source can't show what should be sourced, how can I? –Ammarpad (talk) 19:31, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
I've replied at my talk page. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:30, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
You still didn't answer my question on what actually needs to be sourced but I see you oddly tagged President of Ghana, Vice and CJ for sources. Fine. You should've have told me that straight when I asked you exactly what needs sourcing. Now you're fundamentally wrong. 2018 in Ghana is not article but you wrongly thought it is. We don't cite the sky is blue. That's why 2018 in the United States, 2018 in the United Kingdom, 2018 in France, 2018 in Iran, 2018 in Canada, 2017 in Thailand and over 100 pages in Category: 2018 by country, None of them have given citation for the standard incumbents, because of common sense. But all these pages you didn't tag them with {{citation needed}} and you didn't send their creators your accusatory semi templated message titled "source". I only created 2018 in Ghana for the first time; some people create them (2018 in x) in bulk because they're pseudo-categories and standard pages to maintain information about countries and use standard templates, they are not articles as you wrongly assumed. They are index to other pages. That's why when I plainly asked you what "exactly" needs sources you you can't give me "plain" answer except to return sophistic response. Now if you are still going to add additional {{tl|cn} to 2018 in Ghana, then you should use Category: 2018 by country for easier work, because all the 200+ pages need that also and then also from there track all their creators and send them your semi-templated, incriminating message –Ammarpad (talk) 13:32, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

Maximiliano Korstanje

Hi Ammampard, my name is David, I tried unsuccesfully to edit some wikipedia items. We are part of an university project which aims to improve the content of wikipedia filling the gaps with information. We are students and academicians and experts in the field we are participating. We have ethical protocols to avoid self promotion. unfortunately respecting Korstanje m and other scholars we found serious mistakes. we have no direct relation to Korstanje or Altheide but notedtheir biographes were wrong. Some editors as JZG made our job impssible, we do not know why. We have nothing with him but I feel he is obsessed to boycott Korstanje biography. We have filled and presented his publications and his main outcome in the theory of terrorism and on places. In google scholar and scopus you can find evidence of his contributions. He published notably almost 1200 papers in the top ranked publishers as OXP, Elsevier, Routledge, Springer, CABI; IGI and so forth. to our end, he is a valid candidate for wikipedia item like many others. JZG says many of what we added are not reliable sources, we explained he is wrong but he did not pay attention. We will stop editing this biography because it can affects korstanje reputation, even he is not cognizant with our task but i ask you intervention to avoid JZG edits unilaterally the content we the academicians create. JZG disruptively arguments that our sources are vanity pess, but our sources are indexed in the most prestiges indexes as Scopus and WoS. If you ask me, it is easy for us to publish in peer reviewed journals and leave wikipedia to editors, but the fact is that serious mistakes are being commited in the biographies, errors that harm the credibility of Wikipedia. thanks for your time. David 181.29.44.20 (talk) 14:46, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

If you're truly "part of an university project which aims to improve the content of wikipedia" as you claimed; then you should obtain static identity by creating an account first and encouraging your course mates/fellow academics to do the same. There are special education programs through Wikipedia which then you can be affiliated to and contribute positively in better organized way. –Ammarpad (talk) 09:51, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
I would if this corrects something, but JZG is not an objective editor and he will block my user, he did in the past with others. He is deleting the biography now arguing IGI global is not a legitimate publisher. here is the list of well credited Publishers, which is in the most prestigious databse in the world. IGI like many others, he bemoans as vanity press are there, http://wokinfo.com/mbl/publishers/ the best, john 190.104.232.132 (talk) 19:52, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

This was a content fork see WP:CFORK. It's the same topic. Maybe you can make a case to split off the literature portion as a separate article, but please discuss first on the talk page of Nigeria Prizes for Science and Literature. At the very least you should develop Nigeria Prize for Literature in Draft space before making a proposal, particularly when most of the content is simply copied from the original page without attribution. -- GreenC 16:23, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. GreenC 20:11, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

  1. It wasn't fork, it was correcting of age long mistake. There are was never prize called "Nigeria Prizes for Science and Literature", they only share similar affixes, but administered by different people, in different places, using disparate standards and at different time. So I see no reason to forcefully make them the same on Wikipedia. It is in fact WP:SYNTHESIS against policy. Various things mangled and called the same without any supporting source. And Although you hastly reported me to ANI few minutes after your post here before I could even be able to say anything. I am replying to keep this conclusive, as I said at ANI, I already drafted this when I saw your ANI notification.
  2. Even before you suggested; I worked it in the draft: (see Draft:Nigeria Prize for Literature). I didn't even take that as "the least" priority as you did. The final move to mainspace was done via procedural request at WP:RM/T
  3. Your third point is plain baseless accusation, although now it is over. There's nothing substantial in the stub that's worthy of copy and the history of the page is enough to show that. I only ditched several unreliable sources that existed in the previous version. Moreover it is pertinent that names of award winners (which make half of the stub) are immutable and therefore must be replicated. –Ammarpad (talk) 13:08, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

You can use any source that is reliable. Read about reliable sources and general notability guideline then continue improving the article. When you are thorough; click the submission button at the top of the page, it will be reviewed and moved to article space or you'll be advised if there are other issues. –Ammarpad (talk) 17:49, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Yakov Smolii

Hello! The website of the Verkhovna Rada introduced information on the registration of the draft Resolution on the appointment of Yakiv Smoliy to the post of the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine http://w1.c1.rada.gov.ua/pls/zweb2/webproc4_1?pf3511=63337 and the Draft Resolution on Dismissal Gontarevoy V.O. from the position of the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (No. 7500). In view of this, I ask you to find a way to speed up the procedure for creating a smtp site about Yakov Smolii: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yakiv_Smolii Thank you in advance! Disambiguation link notification for January 21

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Solomon Arase, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University of Benin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

13 cats on the hot gabled roof (Film) - Issues solved.

Hi, Thanks for your attention and care, I surveyed the issues and provided the article with proper references and citation along with a disambiguation in the title in a way that it is separated with an earlier production with a similar name. Just posted it for another review. Hope everything works pretty well. Regards Soso freak (talk) 04:51, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

@Soso freak: Since it is in the queue it will soon be reviewed, remember many people are also waiting for their articles to be reviewed and there's no deadline for submission. But I will advise you to prune this rather extended list of everybody associated with the film (almost 60 people). Just list the most important five or 7 people associated with the production. See for example these simple articles of Iranian movies (ABC Africa and Ballad of Tara). –Ammarpad (talk) 14:15, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
@Ammarpad: It sounds pretty correct, I will now edit the page to reduce the rather long list of cast and crew into a more concise form of it. It is great to have your recommendations and hints, wikipedia will grow larger with the help of experienced editors or administrators like you. Soso freak (talk) 12:33, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
That's good. –Ammarpad (talk) 13:11, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
