Yes, I was aware those are AOL proxy ranges. Unfortunately, there is a vandal who uses IPs in those ranges (.100.0/24 and .101.0/24) and a short range block is the only way to stop him. It's not even possible to leave a warning message on his talk page, since he's never on the same IP from one second to the next. -- Curps 00:54, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There was some sort of computer glitch that caused the blank page. I reverted to the prior page when I saw it. "misleading edit summaries"? What are you talking about? KnowName 01:24, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your "rv"[edit]

Hello colleague. May I ask you when you blindly revert next time (especially with skimpy summary "rv": [1]), please make sure you revert real vandalism. It looked offensive and condescending.

Note my summary: "RV Yuber: the title of this article is not Wickedness of Jews. See talk": [2]. There is indeed a discussion going on in Talk. A look at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Yuber could also help. Regards. ←Humus sapiens←ну? 07:58, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks ..[edit]

.. for the encouragement! Always glad to hear from another Canadian too. :) --PeruvianLlama(spit) 23:55, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your "rvv"[edit]

Like the editor above, I also found your "rvv" edit summary to me to be offensive and condescending. I was having browser problems which damaged the article, and was attempting to fix my edit when you showed up and reverted me with that summary. Please realize that people sometimes have technical issues which are not intentional vandalism. Preaky 20:58, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Message left on your user page[edit]

Mindmatrix scam adminship[edit]

File:CAD1000 Front.png

As fellow residents of this land, I feel it is my duty to employ my newly-granted priviliges to ensure that this politically unstable land may one day achieve a level of stability and functional governance that we all desire. To that end, please use the attached funds with the strictest confidence to accomplish this goal. (Yes, you're right, functional governance and Canadian politics is an oxymoron.) Thank you for your support. Mindmatrix 21:17, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gallians Back[edit]

We should just block him already. He's already made about 5 nonsense edits today. --Master Jay 21:42, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection[edit]

I saw you just reverted vandalism on George W. Bush, and wondered what you thought about the proposals to curb what's going on there. If you have time, check out Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, and weigh in (there's a bit of a large discussion page, so be prepared.) Hope to see you there. -Mysekurity (have you seen this?) 01:40, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Libellous RfC of Canaen[edit]

What you are doing is wrong.

Read what I wrote first and get back to me.

Thanks.

I am removing this page because it is a knowingly erroneous and dishonest libel of a Wiki user setting out to deliberately damage - and silence - a contributor to a topic by one particular opposing contributor, Viriditas, supported by two allies one of whoms constant nonconsensual revisions led to his contribution being moved off the page by consensus. The article is on veganism. Veganism is a provocative challenge to many individuals, as is vegetarianism to a lesser degree because it makes individuals and animal industries look at themselves. It regularly attracts fanatics, trolls, propagandists of boths sides. The libel of Canaen was started by Viriditas's associate Skinwalker based on the erroneous claim that I was at first Canaen using various anonynous IP address. Even when I wrote and made it clear to admins, even stating IP address, Viriditas associate Skinwalker continued to make their claim and use my actions against Canaen. Now that charge has failed, they try claim that I am his meatpuppet, even insultingly calling me " Mr. Meatpuppet ". To call a vegan " meat puppet " is a equivalent to calling a black person a nigger dishonestly claiming that I became involved after Canaen posted his thoughts to a Livejournal page. I say dishonestly because I wrote to both the antagonists for their comments and to engae in rational discussion many weeks before the Livejournal postings. Even the use of the accusation of " sock puppetry " was intended to hurt and damage the credibility of those that might not actually have a fixed IP and be held as some sort of crime.

Despite my reminding them of this, they refused to withdraw the allegations. Sorry guys, the date stamps are against you and you can censor them away like Viriditas does other contribution on other's talk pages. Let us be clear ; Idleguy attemtped to stop all development of the topic and ram home criticism against vegans using statistics that were actually from sources criticism the meat industry. [ i.e. deforestation caused by increase demands of cattlefood ]. He was defeated and the criticism moved elsewhere. Skinwalker is trying to ram home an agenda that associates anorexia with veganism using home page FAQs from non-vegans, discussion board material and comment about vegetarians. Consensus is that there is not sufficient evidence to relate this association with veganism. He refused to accept this and instead is using personal attacks against users to try and silence opposition to his POV. Skinwalker calls us " nasty ... veggiebashers " to another contributor on their user page trying to find another ally and so I think that clearly discredits his neutrality. Viriditas - who it must be said does contribute some good - sees himself as a defender of the two above's POVs and acts as self-appointed censor and revisionist - whilst refusing to engage in topic discussion or follow consensus - repeatedly revising the topic to include the above non-sequitors. In doing so, we are suffering a tirade of erroneous and dishonest, accusations, insults, wikitrick, banning and snitches from him ; " vandall [sic] ... attacker ... troll ... POV ... sockpuppet ... meatpuppet ... harrass ". It goes on and on. It appears, by the initial Wiki invite, that Viriditas and Skinwalker have some prior relationship. Skinwalker modus operandi is similar if not so strong.

So the question remains, why are the three of them continuing to attack Canaen when they know he is not their nemesis? Canaen has been reasonable beyond the call of duty, always willing to contribute to the discuss page in a good hearted manner and engage in discussion personally as, particularly Viriditas vomits his abuse in a scatter gun attempt to discredit him. And for the record, the only interaction user Canaen and I have had is for me to apologise for all the abuse he is receiving from Viriditas and Skinwalker on the lie that I was him. Oh ... that and a joke about Lord Huntly's suffering at the battle at the Hill of Fare. 195.82.106.69 00:43, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Your vandalism of Ido[edit]

Your edit of Ido linked here (Warning: NOT SAFE) is grossly inappropriate. Please don't do this again. -- KneeLess 20:10, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I did not intentionally vandalize that page. I was simply adding an accent to the French word "étudier". I apparently accidentally edited a revision that was vandalized by the IP address 81.173.186.179, so my revision contained the vandalized edit. Since featured articles are vandalized and reverted extremely frequently, it is easy to accidentally edit a vandalized version. That revision, incidentally, used a misleading edit summary ("reverted picture"). IPs from the 81.173.x.x range have been vandalizing Ido all day. Electronic ankle bracelet[edit]

True, Pro Tech is a company - but when I searched for an article on ankle bracelet transmitters there was none, but there was already a lengthy article on Pro Tech's bracelet, which apparently was for a time a unique product. I heavily edited it, and put on a Cleanup tag. See the Discussion for Pro Tech. A completely separate article is desirable, but I'm tied up in college work and an Arbitration right now. Leading vs. elected[edit]

The Elections Canada numbers you are using show which candidate is leading, not which candidate has been elected. -- Ray Oiler 03:29, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right. It's still better then simply putting down who's winning, unless you want to change the column heading to reflect that it includes leading as well as "elected" candidates. -- Ray Oiler 03:35, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YTMND[edit]

I would like to point out that your revert of the YTMND article was incorrect. objective Ministries IS a parody site. I have removed that section of the article, but if you can think of a better way to fix it, I am open to your sugestions. Thank you. 24.167.70.126 02:23, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available[edit]

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
