Welcome!

Hello, Anna2123456789, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Philip Graham Scott, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! A tag has been placed on Philip Graham Scott requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. JamesBWatson (talk) 17:37, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Phillip Graham Scott, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phillip Graham Scott. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CynofGavuf 10:03, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Joe Maw, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joe Maw (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CynofGavuf 10:27, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Joe Maw, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

April 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Joe Maw. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 19:45, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Phillip Graham Scott. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 19:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Joe Maw, you will be blocked from editing. CynofGavuf 06:50, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits.
The next time you remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Joe Maw, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 21:10, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:London_2009_007.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:London_2009_007.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 08:07, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kristal Lau has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I can't find significant coverage for this actress.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Joe Chill (talk) 21:15, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Carmen_Howle_Newcastle_summer_2009.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Carmen_Howle_Newcastle_summer_2009.JPG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 03:27, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Kristal Lau[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Kristal Lau. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kristal Lau. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'Replace this image' template[edit]

Please do not add the "replace this image" template to biography articles as the template is no longer used. Please see this discussion for additional information. If you would like to request an image to be added to a biography article, please go to the talk page and add the needs-photo=yes parameter to the biography project banner. An example can be found here. --Jezebel'sPonyoshhh 17:45, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anna - I'm going to ask you again, politely, to please stop adding the deprecated "replace this image" template to articles against consensus. I've advised how to properly add a photo request to article talk pages above, please use this format in the future. Please also ensure that any information you add to articles is reliably sourced or it may be removed. Thank you --Jezebel'sPonyoshhh 17:57, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Restoring information or templates to an article against concensus is considered disruptive editing. If you continue to add this template without regard for consensus and without discussion you could be blocked from editing. I undestand that you are likely a younger editor and may not completely understand how things work around here, but you have had several individuals point out how Wikipedia works and the expectations with regard to editing articles and there has been no acknowledgement or discussion on your part. I strongly advise that you take a break from editing until you have a chance to read the information and advice given on this page. There are many people here who would be happy to help you with regard to editing, however you cannot continue to simply edit and create articles in your chosen format without regard to concensus, policy, and guidelines. Sources[edit]

Anna - As has been requested previously, please ensure that any information you add to articles is reliably sourced. You are adding the school year that some child actor happens to be in without sources - this is both a violation of WP:RS and the Manual of Style which states "Avoid statements that will age quickly". AfD nomination of Amy-Leigh Hickman[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Amy-Leigh Hickman. Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amy-Leigh Hickman. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

License tagging for File:RamonaMarquezNationalMovieAwards.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RamonaMarquezNationalMovieAwards.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:RamonaMarquezandFreyaWilson.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Coekon (talk) 21:30, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images[edit]

You have received many many warnings on this talkoage regarding the uploading of non-free images. It is very important, critical actually, that you understand what constitutes fair use with regard to Wikipedia's licensing and permissions policy. You cannot simply download an image from a website, save it on your computer, then upload it to Wikipedia for use. The website must explicitly state that it is compatible with Wikipedia's licensing terms. Please read Wikipedia:Non-free content and Wikipedia:Copyrights. Please do not continue uploading any files until you are positive you understand these policies. If you continue to upload non-free content despite all of these warnings, your account will be blocked again. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 15:25, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:CarmenHseries3.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CarmenHseries3.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Replaceable fair use File:Adrianna Bertola.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Adrianna Bertola.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. David1217 What I've done 16:11, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Only warning[edit]

You have again uploaded an image under fair use rationale that does not meet fair use criteria. You cannot use screencaps and stills from television shows and movies and use them in the biography articles of the individual's who portray the character depicted. The amount of copyright warnings (and final warnings) that have gone unheeded on this page is simply unacceptable. If you continue to violate Wikipedia copyright policy you will be blocked. I strongly suggest you either find a mentor to help you or you cease uploading images altogether. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:45, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

October 2012[edit]

Hello, I'm Sandstein. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Kerry Ingram, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.  Sandstein  12:53, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let's learn about Copyright![edit]

Hi Anna!

  1. I've added a unit on Copyright at User:OrenBochman/Adoption/Anna2123456789. please review it.
  2. Regarding the above note. It looks like you are cooperating nicely with Sandstein on the article on Kerry Ingram. Doing research on the net is a good idea. Your edit was reverted for a couple of reasons. First of all you did not back the fact you added with a good citation. I also did a google search and found an article about another Kerry Ingram but this one was a baby and not the one in the article. So it looks like Sandstein not only fixed the mistake but took some time to updated you. Anyhow I suggest you drop to Sandstein talk page and leave a note - that way people realize that when you make mistakes you read their comments and that you are trying to improve your skills. Try to answer the question I posted on your adoption page, and then we can discuss issues related to images you upload. For example what would be better fair use notices for images like: File:MaraWMatilda1996.png. BO | Talk 22:56, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lily Laight has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of satisfying the notability guidelines. One source does nothing but show that someone of this name was born at the time and place specified, and the others are both limited local coverage.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You are not too late - but these are a bunch of stuff we got to do.
  • I have a unit on deletion which you should cover and
  • once it is done we can chat about what can be done in each deletion situation for each of the articles,
  • then we can work out what should be improved
  • finally you need to learn how to respond.

P.S. You did not do the test on copyright. What was the problem, I thought you are interested in law - was it too difficult ?
P.S.S. Anna if you are not interested in mentoring let me know as well and I wont trouble you no more. BO | Talk 16:24, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
