Niklaren Goldeye[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Niklaren Goldeye, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. — iridescenti (talk to me!) 16:29, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It says that I should respond on my talkpage so I'll respond here. I've added more information to the page; a lot of it comes from the books themselves. I've also thought about merging this page with The Circle of Magic page under the section of Niklaren Goldeye. The only problem I have with that is the fact that this page seems more detailed than any of the sections there. If you could give me any feedback, that'd be great. I'll remove the prod for the moment since it's now clear what it's about. It still needs sourcing - to be a Wikipedia article, you need to show that the character is notable rather than just the book. FAD Assessments[edit]

We seem to be tripping up over each other, but just so you know - FAD does recognise Importance as well as Class, although it isn't in the Template - yet. And it's always a good idea to put in a {{reqphoto|food|in=the United States}} or equivalent tag if there's not one there yet. As it happens I'm just coming to the end of an assessment marathon of 1000 or so FAD articles, so you needn't worry about these last 30 or so - I've got them already loaded up in AWB and ready to go :-)) Cheers FlagSteward 01:50, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you took the above in good heart, it almost felt like I was trying to keep the assessments to myself - anything but. Your contributions are much appreciated, you just chose an unfortunate time to start just as I was in full flow with AWB, I just didn't want you to waste your time when it could be spent doing other things (boy does the Food project need things doing..... Which was kinda the point of nailing these assessments, to start setting priorities.) Anyway, I've got the statistics bot running now, so we'll see what it says. WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest[edit]

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
