If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Michael Tuts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. More Info Wanted on Tom Reardon[edit]

Hi, I would be interested to know more about what he is up to. Does he publish on blogs, forums, etc? Do you know where his PhD is going and when he is expected to defend it? Does he has plans on what he will do afterwards? Please just answer here if you want to avoid making the article longer. 84.14.175.12 (talk) 17:36, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for your interest in the article! I don't know Mr Reardon personally but you can probably learn more about his research by reading about his lab (which is linked in the references) and searching for publications in his name on Google Scholar or a similar engine. If you find anything of note (with a source), feel free to add it to the article! I have no objection to the article being expanded or edited by other users. Astro interest (talk) 04:03, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Thanks, I will keep looking. 84.14.175.12 (talk) 07:58, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hello Astro, I saw from your user page that you're at Columbia. I'm looking for someone there to take a free photograph of Emma Sulkowicz carrying her mattress on campus, for use in the article about her (assuming she is okay with having it taken, which she usually is according to interviews). If you'd rather not, for whatever reason, please ignore this request. But if you're willing and able, it would be very helpful if you would release it under a Creative Commons Attribution licence, and upload it to Commons or Flickr (and ping me, please) or email it to me. All the best, Sarah (SV) (talk) 02:55, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I would be willing to do this; however, I personally have never seen her carrying her mattress on campus, and as a grad student in applied physics do not frequent quite the same regions of campus as an undergraduate visual arts major! Still, I'll keep an eye out. Astro interest (talk) 15:06, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Astro, that would be great. I'll try to find out when she's likely to be at a particular place. I don't have an email address for her, but I can email someone who I know is in touch with her. I'll get back to you if and when I know more, and thanks again. Edit request: Robert Birgeneau[edit]

Hello Astro interest,

I found you on WP:Biographies and thought I'd contact you since you're interested in physics. I'm working with a conflict of interest editor, Amy Hamaoui (Director of Public Relations at UC Berkeley), teaching her basic encyclopedic writing style, and guiding her through Wikipedia conflict of interest guidelines. She has information she'd like to have added by a neutral editor to the article on former Chancellor Robert Birgeneau regarding his physics career prior to becoming Chancellor (being a COI editor, she does not plan on editing mainspace). Would you potentially be available to look over her sandbox, suggest changes, and incorporate new information into the article? If not, do you know any other neutral editors with an interest in physics biographies who might be available to do so? Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions!

- Eekiv 04:56, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, this sounds find, let me know what you need me to do. Astro interest (talk) 22:23, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, Astro interest! The work Amy did is in her sandbox, under "ADD CONTENT". Would you mind reviewing this section for bias or anything else that would need to be changed in order for it to meet encyclopedic guidelines? You could make suggestions to her sandbox or talk page...whatever makes sense to you. If it looks good, could you copy her work into the Robert Birgeneau article itself? As an extra layer of transparency, you may want to leave an edit summary about how you are a neutral editor who reviewed the work and copied it from her sandbox. Let me know if you have any questions, and thank you again for helping out! - Eekiv 01:49, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again! I just wanted to see if you got this message and if it made sense to you. Anyway, I hope you're having a good week! - Eekiv 23:05, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 17[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yannis Tsividis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MOS. Speedy Deletion and WP:BITE[edit]

Hi there! I very much appreciate your work patrolling new pages. However, I'd like to draw your attention to Wikipedia's policy on biting the newcomers. Tagging a page for deletion moments after creation is considered uncivil and may drive away newcomers whose edits are made in good faith. It's generally a good idea to give a page no less than 10 minutes before tagging unless, of course, it's an attack page or some other sort of vandalism. If I can be of any assistance, you know where to find me. --Non-Dropframe talk 02:31, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I do try to evaluate new articles holistically though, taking into consideration if there is a chance that it could be improved and waiting in case there is (or trying to improve it myself!). In some cases however I'm not sure there's much of a difference tagging it immediately or waiting 10 minutes. Was there a particular example you thought was uncivil? astro (talk) 02:59, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Surya Semesta Internusa[edit]

The article Surya Semesta Internusa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

After cleanup, this would appear to be just a regular construction company, and not one that is particularly notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. HappyValleyEditor (talk) 04:12, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's a puppet-drawer. No need to rationalize the content any further:) DMacks (talk) 03:06, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Though it baffles me why someone would sock to insert correct information (with a random reference to something in HK?) to an article... astro (talk) 10:32, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The information is even already in the article. Their goal is to over-emphasize the fact that HK the test wants you to know (slanting article to make that the primary topic term, etc.). DMacks (talk) 14:13, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NPP[edit]

Hi. Thank you for patrolling new pages. However, I'd like to draw your attention to Wikipedia's policy on biting the newcomers. Tagging a page for deletion moments after creation as you did at İlayda Çevik may discourage newcomers whose edits are made in good faith. WE usually allow give a page 15 minutes to develop before tagging unless it's an attack page, spam, or vandalism. For more information please read WP:NPP and if you're stuck, ask me on my talk page. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:29, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, should have been more careful there! Thanks - I'll definitely keep that in mind. astro (talk) 18:16, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Journal of Global Health[edit]

The article The Journal of Global Health has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources about the journal. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.
