thanks for you note[edit]

of support about my photographs on wikipedia. I love the project dearly but learned long ago that in a democracy everyone gets a vote and they all count the same. I've also learned to pick my fights carefully (raising two girls helped on that one) and frankly fighting about my pictures, the copyright issues and that sort of thing is NOT time that I consider to be well spent. And, frankly, when I get pissed off (can we say that here?) my response is to often pluck out a few more pictures. I lookdt at your PA Military museum and it's quite a sight. Help please[edit]

{{help}}

See if this works. I just discovered and read about the much maligned userboxes. I would like to add four of them to my user page but the display is all wonky. Any assistance would be great. Thank you. --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 13:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've slightly changed it, both to display better, and to give you an idea of how to use the table syntax. I hope it's OK, :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 13:13, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reversed your edits again as Buzz Lightyear is showing up under the People currently in space Category. This is a category for Astronauts and not cartoons.--Npnunda (talk) 01:53, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See [1], no need to report him if he apologizes. --Stefan talk 02:16, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar from the Buzz Lightyear Incident[edit]

The Barnstar of Peace
I am awarding This user a barnstar because we both got mad at each other over something That was really small. he/she was the first to try to make peace. My appologies for accusing you of personal attacks and vandalism. Thanks for doing your part in keeping Wikipedia a peaceful place Npnunda (talk) 02:15, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reflist vs. References[edit]

Hiya, Aujourd'hui, maman est morte. Yeah, I saw your articles on the Prison Rape act and board on the DYK nomination page. So, why 'reflist' over 'references'? I have no idea. It's a personal preference, I suppose. I've learned about Wikipedia through seeing others' edits, and the really big, poular articles all have 'reflist' instead of 'references'. I've never bothered to ask the wiki community why I should use one over the other. Unless you've heard otherwise, I'd advise you to use {{reflist}} because it reduces the text size, which makes it seem more like a footnote, like the references actually are. Thanks for hearing me out, BobAmnertiopsisChitChat Me! 03:39, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're most welcome. BobAmnertiopsisChitChat Me! 03:43, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Camus would be proud[edit]

Hello! Sorry to bother, but I just wanted to say that you have the very, very, very best name I've seen on Wikipedia. I just discovered your account by accident and I let out a big happy laugh in seeing that Camus opening line. Bravo, monsieur! Ecoleetage (talk) 12:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did you ever see the film version with Marcello Mastroianni? It is more curious than interesting, but it is worth seeking out. Ecoleetage (talk) 02:28, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Buzz Lightyear at the Kennedy Space Center.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
