November 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, List of United States fighter aircraft, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 15:46, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste move[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into List of United States fighter aircraft. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Changing wording[edit]

I noticed that you are changing wording on many articles. Be careful that you do not change the meaning of the sentence unless you are bringing it in line with the sources. In this edit, you changed the wording in a way that implied that the 30 submarine kills were shared, while the original wording made no such implication. - ZLEA T\C 21:10, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any reason why you are shortening the wording of articles? There is usually no need to do this. - ZLEA T\C 21:17, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

November 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, BeeboMan. I noticed that your recent edit to Yakovlev Yak-25 (1947) added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:05, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I was using an image that was from the Vietnamese version of Wikipedia. BeeboMan (talk) 18:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New articles[edit]

You might want to add any aviation articles you start to Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft). This makes them more visible to editors who might want to help improve them. - ZLEA T\C 05:09, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion! BeeboMan (talk) 12:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Real Engineering (Youtube Channel) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hm ok, I'll keep in the sandbox to improve it then. BeeboMan (talk) 00:12, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mustang[edit]

You might want to double check before making edits such as this. Mustang is an article on the horse, not a redirect to North American P-51 Mustang. - ZLEA T\C 00:29, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of United States military helicopters. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:19, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I've removed the copy-paste tag because it's a backwards copy. Additionally, please make sure that the sources you are using are reliable. The book you cited, World War 2 In Review No. 45, is published by lulu.com, a self publishing book publisher. Unless written by an expert, self published media is generally prohibited as a source. Thanks for your work, though! ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 23:40, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
