June 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Iman Vellani does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Sariel Xilo (talk) 19:18, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and sorry about that, my bad! Sam0006 (talk) 19:21, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Ms. Marvel (TV series) into Iman Vellani. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Sariel Xilo (talk) 14:51, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Noted, thanks. Sam (talk) 15:06, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sofia Carson. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Substantively doing the same edit after you were previously told to just readd the new role is classic Disruptive editing. Please don't do something like this again. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:09, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Heya, Can you please take a look at Template:Did you know nominations/Bejeweled (song) as a major contributor -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 14:55, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Bejeweled (song)[edit]

On 6 November 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bejeweled (song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the music video for Taylor Swift's song "Bejeweled" hints that her 2010 album Speak Now would be her next re-recording? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bejeweled (song). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Bejeweled (song)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Smile emoji Hi Sam0006! Thank you for your edits to Speak Now (Taylor's Version). It looks like you've copied or moved text from Red (Taylor's Version) into that page, and while you are welcome to re-use the content, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 20:25, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary[edit]

Hey there, your recent edit at Selena Gomez said "ce" in the edit summary, but I think it was not a copy edit, as it included the changing of information and references. Just wanted to let you know! A more accurate summary may have been simply "update" or more specifically something like "Calm Down charts update". Thanks! Wracking 💬 18:39, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 1[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Guts (Olivia Rodrigo album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cassette. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

July 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ss112. I noticed that you made one or more edits to an article, Jaded (Miley Cyrus song), concerning the updates of review statistics, box office numbers, sports statistics, or some other frequently updated data with a fixed web address, but you did not update the |access-date= parameter in the citation template. The |access-date= parameter is the full date when the content pointed to by the URL was last verified to be working and supporting the text being cited in the article. This means that the parameter needs to be updated whenever the content is updated. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ss112 09:50, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One link per line on disambiguation pages[edit]

Hello. Per WP:DAB, please keep one link per entry on disambiguation pages as more than one link is considered to be confusing to readers. Also, we need to show the disambiguation of the entry, so that means do not pipe out the disambiguation, e.g. still show "(song)" in the piped link like so. A better explanation can be found at WP:DAB. Thank you. Ss112 13:40, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, will keep that in mind! Ben | he/him (talk) 13:47, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm MaranoFan. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Vampire (Olivia Rodrigo song) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. NØ 09:48, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure who told you to remove links to websites and publishers in references but they lied. I do not want to see this happening again. Also, changing "work" to "website" or vice versa in a reference has no functional purpose. Also, stop trying to "equal" my edits on the page by separating your minor changes into 10 different edits. I have this page on my watchlist and more of the same after the warning will be responded with strong action.--NØ 09:49, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, got it! Very sorry about that; and thank you for the heads-up! Will keep that in mind.
Ben | he/him (talk) 10:02, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also consider stopping the spam edits and use more descriptive edit summaries. You will also find a box stating "This is a minor edit" on the edit screen, that is meant to be checked when the edit is something minor, like changing a parameter. And this is just a personal thing of mine, but no need to "thank" me for my edits to pages created by other users, as it is patronising.--NØ 10:43, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm sorry about it, and really apologize. And yeah, I'll take care of it. Also, I don't mean to offend you or anything, but about the publisher thing, no, I never unlinked anything; only added the publishers a few weeks ago. So I'm sorry if there's any misunderstanding, and thank you for the guidance.

DYK for Guts (Olivia Rodrigo album)[edit]

On 3 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Guts (Olivia Rodrigo album), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that when discussing her album Guts, Olivia Rodrigo said she "grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Guts (Olivia Rodrigo album). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Guts (Olivia Rodrigo album)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
