Deliberately adding a redirect link seems highly irregular. The point of redirect pages is to lead the reader to the correct article. On certain browsers, the redirect doesn't even point to the subsection, but to the Wii Remote article as a whole. Just64helpin 17:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Strategic Air Command Wings

Hi BigHairRef; I'm a editor from New Zealand. R.E. Mixer is blanking sections in this page because it was a massive page and the articles listed are being moved to sub-articles for Air Refuelling Wings, Bomb Wings, Fighter Wings etc etc. That's why the LongPage tag is up the top. Platform game

Added a bunch of cites where you felt they were needed, and addressed the claims of original research, cleaned up the article a bit, and took new screenshots and uploaded them with a fair use rationale for each (a few of the old shots were mine, so I just added FU for them). Ok, I removed the "many felt" claim, because it was a little weasely, and replaced it with a more verifiable counter-claim. I explained a bit about the proto-platformer thing on the talk page. I'm not really sure it needs to be cited or changed. Frogacuda 23:33, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for all the help on getting the platform game article up to snuff. I removed the references to proto-platformers, as there were only two mentioned in the article, so writing around it was easy. Platform game is now the only game genre article with a GA. Lot of work. Removing dates from Harry Potter articles

Hey BigHairRef, I agree that birthdates don't belong in the lead sentence (too in-universe), but in actuality, J. K. Rowling has set a date on this, even disregarding Nearly Headless Nick's being 500 in 1992 -- see the Black Family Tree, which Rowling released for charity. Draco Malfoy is born in 1980, as the fandom suspected, making Harry and Ron also 1980 and Hermione 1979. But we'll relocate this farther down into the article as is appropriate. Away goals rule

Hello. I've undone your edit to Away goals rule; most competitions that use the away goals rule continue to apply it after extra time. An example from this year's UEFA Cup occurred between Hajduk Kula and CSKA Sofia: 0-0 on aggregate after 180 mins; 1-1 aet; CSKA advance on away goals (UEFA match report). In fact, I'm not aware of any competition where it only applies after normal time; the article gives the English League Cup as a reverse example where it only applies after extra time, not normal time; and the English League Playoffs abandoned away goals altogether from the same concerns mentioned in your edit. If you know of a tournament where away goals apply after normal time but not extra time, it would be a useful addition to the article. Cheers, jnestorius^(talk) 00:33, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Deletion

Hi BigHairRef,

So you delete pages posted by smaller companies who are putting up information about their organization, ones that are written without trying to sell any product - but you leave big companies on wikipedia alone. I guess you can't fight the big companies and you prefer to bully small companies who don't have the guns to keep their information on the site. There have been stories in the main stream press about how corporations are using wikipedia for blatant marketing - and i just looked at a few of them and its amazing what they get away with compared to what I wrote about my company.

So, do you like to help the rich get richer rather than allow any company to put up information about their history, background, inventions, etc. I agree, using Wikipedia for marketing or to simply try to get traffic is wrong, but if big companies or well financed small companies can put their info up, then any company should be able to put up their history and information without being labeled "blatant marketing". Who are you to say which company is or is not relevant to have their information on wikipedia? What are the criteria for one company to be here and another company to not be here - the rules are there, but they are not clear.

If a small company crosses the line, you should give them a chance to make edits and put their information up. I attempted to make edits, got no feedback, and tried to do everything i could to comply. And yet, my name is up as clear as day in this site as if I am a scoundrel just looking to abuse this great site. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I respect wikipedia, i use it regularly, and I don't like blatant marketing on this site as much as you do.

I don't want you flaming me again, so that's why you won't see my name - but this is really wrong. Also, I'm sure you will delete this immediately as you won't have this type of criticism on your page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.94.107 (talk) 21:51, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
