Columns[edit]

Thank you so much for fixing the columns on the 2006 Penn State Nittany Lions Page. I tried week after week to figure it out and nearly lost my mind! Thanks Dincher 16:34, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Miami Orange Bowl[edit]

I received a message saying that the Miami Orange Bowl edit was reverted. Why was my Miami Orange Bowl edit reverted? I simply deleted a portion that said that the players might have been referring to Dolphins Stadium when they voted the Orange Bowl the best stadium to play in. Why in the world would they be talking about Dolphins Stadium? I think Sports Illustrated fact-checks enough to know that when the players say the Orange Bowl...they mean the Orange Bowl. Right now, it would be encyclopedic to speculate on this fact any longer.

Thanks. 67.188.43.41 00:45, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I didn't mean to revert that edit. I agree with that edit, and that the speculation was unnecessary. What I was attempting to revert was this edit: [1] where you added TEMPLATE:BLANK to the top of the article. Sorry. -- Billma 01:03, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright thanks. no problem at all. The template: blank thing was just an error that i forgot to change. 67.188.43.41 02:29, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had been adding the Coaching templates to some coaches pages, when I noticed that the template said it was deprecated in favor of the Yearly template.

My question is, the coaches template had a column for Bowl Opponent, is there any way you could add that column to the Yearly template?Cogswobble 16:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2007 game times[edit]

  • Is the Ohio State game on ABC? I noticed that you added times and TV for ND and Wisc., but just the time for OSU. Dincher 20:43, 1 May 2007 (UTC) Never mind. I just read that the network is undecided as of yet. Dincher 20:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I listed the time for the Indiana game because it was officially announced by Indiana. [2] I do not know why the Big Ten and PSU have failed to include it in their announcements.Ltv100 16:45, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help with table on OSfuBS[edit]

Thanks with fixing that table on Oklahoma Sooners football under Bob Stoops. I looked at it for about an hour trying to figure it out and I guess never saw that field. z4ns4tsu\talk 15:37, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little Brown Jug[edit]

I've included a reference stating that the Little Brown Jug is college football's oldest trophy. I agree that there are other trophy series that predate Michigan-Minnesota, but trophies were not contested until the 1909 Michigan-Minnesota game.Gopherbone 16:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little Brown Jug[edit]

How about checking for a fact before reverting it? Because you don't believe it to be true does not make that assumption correct. Skankboy 20:46, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you add a citation when you add a fact, it wouldn't be a problem. Gopherbone worked it out. -- Billma 22:50, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:MSUlogo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MSUlogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 20:55, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2007 Games Notes[edit]

Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I didn't even notice. I'll go back and fix it now. I think that "hiding" the notes until after the game is a good idea. Dincher 23:43, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bowden article[edit]

Hey, you may have noticed that the Bowden article is edit-protected because the same carping that's infected Paterno's article has been going on there as well. I've just proposed a resolution on the Bowden talk page. Could you, as a sensible PSU fan, check it out and let the admins know if it makes sense to you? Thanks! College Football Yearly Record Table[edit]

Hello, Bilma. I noticed you took a significant role in building the CFB yearly record template. Though you had done an excellent job in building it, I have one suggestion as to how you may improve it further. Why not create an option to add "free footnotes" to the legend? See the record at Bob Stoops' article. Footnotes can reduce the unnecessary clutter in the box. For example, the word "South" appears near every conference standing, so if there's any way to eliminate this redundancy, maybe by starring (*) conference and putting a footnote in the legend to explain it's the Big 12 south ranking, that would be great. Obviously, I'm not familiar with the code, otherwise I would have done it myself. BlueAg09 (Talk) (Talk) (Talk) 04:47, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PSU logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PSU logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:18, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beer category decision[edit]

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. Notability test for individual player articles?[edit]

I see you've done a lot of work on the Penn State Nittany Lions articles. I wanted to alert you that there's been a recent proliferation of articles on individual players from this team that probably wouldn't pass a notability test re: WP:ATHLETE since they haven't played pro yet. See Kevin Kelly (American football), Navorro Bowman, and most of the others that are Wikilinked in 2008 Penn State Nittany Lions football team#Game notes, since by definition they're still amateurs. The articles are beautifully written and documented, the only issue is the Wiki definition of notability for the subjects. Rather than nominate all these for deletion at WP:AfD, I wondered if you or some of the other College Football project members would like to archive them offline, use the Proposed for Deletion template, then re-add articles once the players get to the NFL? You've uploaded File:PennStateNittanyLions.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles.
