Character articles created in 2020[edit]

Just dropping a notice about a discussion you were mentioned in: WT:FILM#Examples for review. There are editors in WikiProject film which are beginning to question the need for having standalone character articles which lack either significant coverage or a significant number of appearances in film. Quite a few under review were created by you, so you may want to weigh in. Thank you. -- GoneIn60 (talk) 14:57, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've officially nominated some of the articles in question, which can be debated here alongside other characters from the DC Extended Universe.--WuTang94 (talk) 20:30, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to what you put in my talk page[edit]

Since you didn’t put a reply button for me to reply I will put it in here. To me since 2006 ABC is just apart of ESPN overall as it has integrated all of ESPN’s production wise, and ESPN on ABC has then formed so since then all programming should be under ESPN "league" on ABC branding but prior to that I would say no since it would of fallen under the ABC sports branding which would fit better under "League" on ABC so use those 2 differences to differentiate the 2 different times (plus most of ABC’s contracts now are off of ESPN's contracts overall just ABC is included). Hoopstercat (talk) 12:25, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Again, if you want to be technical, ESPN and ABC are to the best of my knowledge, still separate legal entities. The rebranding to "ESPN on ABC" from "ABC Sports" in 2006 came about partially because ESPN by this time, was no longer bound to union contracts. If you read the 2011 book Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN, it goes a bit further into that detail.
Also, the contracts that ESPN signed with the various sports leagues like the NBA, NHL, NFL, etc. have a provision in which ESPN could request permission from said league to license their broadcasts to ABC for its airing on a case basis. ESPN branded events if I'm not mistaken, essentially air on ABC akin to an informercial or paid, brokered programming.
I would naturally assume that it was also such a case with Major League Baseball. Had the early playoff round (where there's a Wild Card series instead of a single Wild Card game for each league, thus ESPN had a lot more on their proverbial plate coverage wise) not been expanded in 2020 due in no small part to the COVID-19 pandemic, then I doubt that we would've had any baseball games on ABC that October.
Think about it this way, let's say Disney hypothetically sells ABC and they separate from ESPN. Don't you think that would mean that ESPN by default, keeps their broadcast rights with ABC out of the picture until the next round of negotiations?
Either way, Disney simply owns ABC as a subsidiary, and ESPN as another subsidiary. It's I guess, kind of like how Paramount Global owns both CBS and Nickelodeon. And while the live NFL broadcasts that air on Nickelodeon really CBS Sports productions (although unlike with ESPN and ABC, Nickelodeon has its own distinctive on-air presentation) they are still at the end of the day separate legal entities.
Or when the USA Network (which had originally broadcast the NHL during the first half of the 1980s) broadcast early round Stanley Cup Playoff games in conjunction with its NBCUniversal sister networks NBC and NBCSN beginning in 2015. Are you by that logic going to call the program The NHL on NBC on USA even though like with the case with ESPN not being able to broadcast every early round MLB playoff game hence using ABC, NBC and NBCSN not carry all of the Stanley Cup playoff games on those two outlets alone?
