I'll fix your userpage![edit]

Hello! I noticed your "Fix my userpage!" tag, and I am willing to help. I only need to know what you want changed, and, of course, your permission. If you would like to know some of my *clears throat* credentials (sorry, couldn't find a better word), here they are:

 1. I am a member of Wikiproject: Userboxes, and know my way around finding, placing, and creating userboxes
 2. I am handy at wikimarkup, which you might know as this stuff:
linkname
template/var.
external link name
<span class="plainlinks"></span>

and the rest of that stuff on the bottom of the editing screen (I know, I get confused to).
If you would like my help, contact me on my talk page.
Have a good Wikipedia experience (sorry, I just can't think right now),
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 05:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a suggestion:[edit]

I would place the tag usertalkpage at the top of your talk page, just like you placed the tag userpage at the top of your user page.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 05:56, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll get started right away![edit]

What I am going to do is create a subpage of your userpage that will be called User:Brennerdlinger/User page/Sandbox1, which I will copy your userpage to and apply changes there. This is so your true userpage doesn't get messed up. All work will be contained in the sandbox.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 21:31, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now that work has begun...[edit]

Now that work has begun, I will make changes one at a time and let you know when they are made. Tell me what you think here, and I will make the relevant changes. When you are completely satisfied, I will replace your old userpage with the new one. --FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 21:52, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First edit[edit]

I was able to get your userboxes into droplists, but there are a few problems with these.

 • You can only put so many userboxes into each category. However, you may have as many categories as you want
 • It is tricky to format, but follow my example and you should be able to add more categories if you wish

Other changes I can make to improve the droplists:

 • Allow it to have multiple columns

If there are any other changes you would like me to make, don't like the changes I have made, or like changes I made, tell me below so we can discuss them.
If you are completely satisfied with the new userpage, tell me below and I will move the new one and replace the old one seamlessly.

It's Good[edit]

It's pretty good, thank you. It feels more organized, and I'll individually sort out what boxes each userbox goes to. Thank you very much, it's much appreciated. Brennerdlinger 23:35, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like me to move the page?
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 00:45, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please. BTW could you also add the button thing on your page signalfying if you're on line or off line on Wikipedia? And how do you do colours in your name? Brennerdlinger 01:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do it for you, and I will also give you the handy Navagational Popups. However, to make it work, you must use the Monobook theme, and first do this:
1. Open your monobook.js file and click "Edit this page" (it may automatically go into editing mode, however)
2. Paste this to the file:

// User:Voice_of_All/Addtabs/monobook.js

importScript('User:Voice_of_All/Addtabs/monobook.js');

// User:Misza13/statusChanger.js

importScript('User:Misza13/statusChanger.js');

// User:Lupin/popups.js

importScript('User:Lupin/popups.js');

Now refresh Wikipedia (you may have to clear your browser's cache, Ctrl+F5 in IE, Shift+Reload in Firefox). When the page finishes reloading, you should see three buttons to the left of "Log Out", "In", "Busy", and "Out". Clicking one changes your status accordingly. Try it, and see what you get in each mode! Now, just add on the top of any page you want your status displayed on! To do colors, go to preferences and in the field for signature, check "Raw Signature". Then, format your name like this.
<span style="color:#228B22">brennerdlinger</span> (<span style="color:#228B22">Talk</span>|<span style="color:#228B22">Contribs</span>)
And will give you this: brennerdlinger (Talk|Contribs)
Wherever you see #228B22, you can input a new value to represent a new color (see List of colors). This page might help too: Customizing your Signature.
Your page will be moved shortly, please be patient.

Thanks for all the help, FastLizard. I couldn't have done it without you. It's more organized and it's easier to surf around without all of those boxes. I can divide up the boxes etc. now. Thanks.

brennerdlinger (Talk|Contribs) 02:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The renovation is complete! The old userpage is located at User:Brennerdlinger/User page/Archive 1, go ahead and add to the top of any page you want your status displayed on. --FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 02:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have. Once again thanks for the help. brennerdlinger (Talk|Contribs) 02:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NBHS[edit]

Hey there. Thanks for your interest in the article. I don't think a reputable third party source that tells me that Richard Shine attended NBHS would exist and I wonder if the statement is controversial enough to demand it? For the record, he went right through school with me, but then who am I? But since you are the second editor who has mentioned it, perhaps you are right. If this is a sticking point it may be necessary to delete. Pity, he is a good guy who has done notable things. Rumiton 10:24, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, how are things at Normo these days? Rumiton 10:24, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Liverpool F.C. wiki[edit]

Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki --Coffeeclub213 (talk) 02:13, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Please sign up on the editathon project page if you can participate either online or in person with other Wikipedians. Hope to see you there!
