A tag has been placed on List of Maison Ikkoku media, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. RE: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:87.194.56.46&redirect=no Are you sure you got the right IP?

I don't even go to yu gi oh related stuff let alone make edits, is this a case of similar ips from the provider?

Request page protection

I've requested protection at the page you suggested, per the explaination on the help desk. Best regards, Rudget. 17:20, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I have gived it a week to see if they tire of it. If it carries on, drop me a note or go to WP:RFPP again. Regards. Woody (talk) 20:35, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
A range block could be attempted, though it seems to be quite a large range administered by "PaeTec Communications Inc.". Primarily I would open up a dialogue on the talkpage, try and talk to them. It worked for the Royal Navy article I worked on. An ip was warring, I got him to register and the article developed because of it. You just have to have the patience of a Saint.;) You've got a week to wait though, try and leave them a "hidden message" (<!-- Please discuss this -->), you only do so much after that. Woody (talk) 20:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Seems to be a highly dynamic ip, so it might not be on purpose, though it could be. That is why I suggest you try and get them to register, that way, you know they are getting the messages. That is where hidden messages in the article can sometimes be useful. Woody (talk) 21:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: STB lizard

I live in Stebbins right now. I don't know when it started, but there are references to the lizard / lizards in the house minutes going back at least two years. There are lizard stencils everywhere, the living room is named the "Lizard Lounge", and the house has a pet lizard. 208.201.238.208 (talk) 01:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Ranma Wikia?

I currently don't have time to be around to keep track more than very cursorily twice a month of so, but given our earlier discussion about this possibility, and the "notability" tags that are starting to show up at the character pages, which will likely lead to nearly complete wipeouts of the entire section within a few months going by what little I've seen elsewhere, I would greatly appreciate it if you, User:Derekloffin or others would be interested in moving our work, by creating a Ranma Wikia in the meantime, or at least back it all up to reinstall it there later. This would also give you tyhe chance to create additional sections and feature more images depending on preference.

Advice on Battle Angel Alita

The Battle Angel Alita article... looking for advice on whether it's a good idea to have the 9 books in the series listed in the article. I find myself having an argument with User:Dinoguy1000 on the Battle Angel Alita Talk page about whether to include the titles of the books on the article's page - but considering he did the original removal of the list of titles, and the creation of the list page was worthy enough to be noted on their user page, I'm perhaps interpreting bias and would like another opinion. My arguments for inclusion of the book's titles are listed on the article's talk page, in summary: useful for identification of the books, particularly of earlier printings; presumption that the titles in the series be listed on the article about the series (precedent in traditional book series, I thought this would also be common sense, though proven at least one person disagrees); style guide for lists of works indicates good practice to provide simple version of list when list is split.

Is the list of titles worthy of inclusion in the main title? 59.167.202.146 (talk) 14:32, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Why I don't like Wikimedia Commons

The main reason is that Commons' interface is, frankly, a huge pain in the neck to use. It's very difficult to manually set up links from Commons image descriptions back to en.wikipedia.org. I am very busy nowadays (especially since I just changed jobs) and I prefer to use the interface that I am accustomed to and which makes uploading as painless as possible (namely en.wikipedia's Special:Upload form). Compared to Wikipedia syntax, Commons syntax is a real headache.

The second reason is that it's hard enough tracking vandalism to image descriptions on en.wikipedia.org as is, and tracking vandalism on Commons is even more difficult. The third reason is that a large portion of my photos are not of interest to anyone outside of the English-speaking world (e.g., the photos of David Boies' law firm headquarters or of Peterson's headquarters). Thus there is no logical reason for me to waste precious time struggling with Commons' terribly difficult interface to upload photos that are only going to be used to illustrate articles on en.wikipedia.org for the foreseeable future.

Hope this clears up any questions you have.--Coolcaesar (talk) 01:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I just switched firms myself. My new firm has completed hiring for its California office for this year, so it's unlikely I could be of assistance to you. Good luck with your job search. AfD nomination of List of minor Ranma ½ characters (manga)

I have nominated List of minor Ranma ½ characters (manga), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of minor Ranma ½ characters (manga). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 19:27, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Soka University of America

This is not a "calendar of events" nor does it lack "notability." A calendar of events if a future-focused document; this is a selected list of past events. Many of the people on the list are noted scholars, and there are one or two Nobel laureates and former diplomats. Additionally, it represents a significant amount of work, and it is part of the description of the institution's recent history. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesunkenroad (talkcontribs) 23:38, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

I think you need a better rationale, frankly. It strikes me that your reasons for deletion change each time you are refuted. These were very prominent events and they were in some cases a year in planning. It also strikes me that you seem not to know the place and yet presume that you can tell what events were of what relative importance and therefore whether they are given "undue" weight or not. I'd like you to put back that text unless you can prove these are given undue weight. The student conference is a major event at the university taking time over a whole year for the planning by dozens of students. The faculty organized conferences are funded by a foundation and often take a whole academic year to plan. All these events are advertised widely and they speak directly to the core mission of the school as stated in the article. I compromised with you and moved it into the history section to make it clearer what its presence means. I think it vandalism to continue deleting the item. I will be replacing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thesunkenroad (talkcontribs) 04:46, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

PS please put answer on article talk page. THanks. RlevseTalk 16:02, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

His comments at Talk:United States Army Installation Management Command, were unrelated to the topic, would not have helped the development of the article in any significant way, and ran afoul of WP:FORUM. I believe your removal of his comments was justified, so no worries. On the Talk:Stars and Stripes (newspaper) page, all comments from the accreditation? section onwards also seem to be in violation of WP:FORUM and WP:MYSPACE,and I would support their removal. --Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:21, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Gallery pulls quote

Hi BrokenSphere,

you pulled out a picture gallery from Bank of China Tower, Hong Kong article in March 2008. I asked for the reason why you did so and you kindly replied with a very comprehensive answer. A picture gallery reappeared on the article recently, and I pulled it out with the same reasoning. I quoted your answer on the article's talk page.

I wrote this message on your talk page just to let you know that you've been quoted. --Siipikarja 09:24, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

USC vs. Cal, 10/3

Hi there! Unfortunately, no. I was at the Ohio State and Washington games (and have some good photos from each I need to upload), but this time (due to some work that needs to get done) I'm watching from a sports bar here in Minneapolis. Dear BrokenSphere. Having cleaned mentions of references to other films, you arrive very inconsistently. For example, two of three remained paragraphs of section Black Lagoon#Design are original researches and don't have references to authoritative sources. The first of paragraphs, besides, is overloaded by detailed and excessive explanations.

I will transfer the text to which you have paid attention, to more suitable place - on page "discussion". I hope, it will help to improve article. However, as plentiful citing of films in a serial - the obvious fact, it undoubtedly should find reflexion in article. I ask you not to clean, but to edit this information to the comprehensible form.

I ask to excuse me for my English language.--Toropyga (talk) 17:29, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Toropyga

Belated question re: Arisaka

Apologies for my tardiness in raising this, but way back in April you trimmed a number of images from a gallery in Arisaka. Among them was one that I had contributed of an Arisaka rifle with its chrysanthemum still intact. I added it as a companion to the one of a rifle with its "mum" ground off, as the text goes into some detail on the significance of those two variations. I'm wondering if you'd reconsider the deletion? Admitting that my photo was hardly the last word in professionalism, it's no worse than the others that remain on the page, and I think that if the article is going to make the distinction, it really shouldn't have an illustration of only one form. If you agree, I'd appreciate your help in putting the photo back--it's the only picture I've ever contributed to Wikipedia, and now that it's moved to the commons I have no idea how to find it, much less edit with it. Thanks for your consideration! Drhoehl (talk) 22:19, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your help! Drhoehl (talk) 23:03, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Can you go through and note anyone else who looks to be too minor to keep or should be moved around.

Also, someone recently moved Eri to main character and I reverted due to lack of discussion and the way we had decided which characters to place on the top. I'd personally rather move Kurasama to secondary rather than move anyone else to main characters if that's the issue.Jinnai 07:10, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
