Wonyoung lead image

Hi, I previously reverted your CSD request for that lead image, and have seen the new deletion nomination discussion. However, where is the exact source for the image to proof Dubba_dd uploaded that image, because I have scroll through Dubba_dd entire profile feed but couldn't find that image at all, do you happened to see that because you didn't include the exact source in neither of your deletion request (CSD and nomination discussion). — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 08:22, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

The person who uploaded the images aren't the copyright holder. The uploader personally contacted the fansite and posted the pictures on their behalf. The original copyright holder needs to be the one to do it and not somebody else. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 08:26, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

@Btspurplegalaxy Yes, that's from my understanding from the various discussions (mostly through edit summary), if that's the case, then they will need to email Commons:Volunteer Response Team with the permission, of which one of their VRT member, will correct the permission, and at the same time, they will mark that image as approved. June 2022

There is one book by Kim which is cited 12 times in Harvard book format which should be in sfn format; could you change it over to sfn format? All the rest of the books are fully converted to sfn. The question of Forbes cites was dealt with extensively during GAN and Wikipedia policy is that Forbes may be used for articles written by Forbes-Editors only; this was all converted during GAN with over one dozen Forbes articles by non-editors removed or changed to other sources, though the current FAC reviewer believes that some of the Forbes cites are faulty. Thanks for that. The Kim Young book is already in the sfn list and it only needs the Harv-links in the article to be changed over to the sfn format. The FAC reviewer seems to be saying that the article has other references which fail to link to Harv-cites, though I can't see any of these on my screen at this time; do such "failed Harv-cites" appear on your screen? They are Euphoria, Lie, Serendipity and Filter. So I came to wikipedia to see if its mentioned here. Euphoria's sales record is mentioned in Jungkook's article. But the other 3 aren't. Ahin of Momoland

Btspurplegalaxy, your edits removed about 2/3 of the draft article on Ahin of Momoland; some of you contributions are good, but you removed every mention of the most important and most relevant 4 years of her career, which is preporsterous. This would be like removing all of mentions of Paul McCartney during his career with the Beatles other than the introductory album. While I can see merit to some of your points, the macro reduction is way too much, and removed 4 months of careful writing.

The article is particularly well sourced. Citiations include reputable sources from more than one dozen countries including CBS News, Chicago Tribune, Singapore Straits Times, Billboard, Rolling Stone, La Prensa Latina, NME New Music Experience (UK), and many magazines including Elle, Vogue, Consmopolitan, Nylon, and GQ, and you removed most of those.

Momoland has been an impactful group, but in very different ways than other Kpop groups. Part of the reason is that Momoland not only has fluent English speakers, but has the synergy between an actual Irish American member (Nancy McDonie) with a fluent English-Madarin-Korean speaker, Ahin. It is this synergy spread globally through social media that has created a niche international following, largely due to Ahin herself. To redact the most important parts of her biography out causes the loss of the most significant parts of her career, and robs the article of perspective.

All that said, some of your edits were good, and some of the edits could be moved into the main Momoland biography, but this should be done with a scalpel type precission, not a sledge hammer. Kops2222 (talk) 18:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

Ahin should be the only focus of the article, not the group's history or anything concerning them. The only exception would be mentioning that she debuted with them. Considering Paul's long and extensive career as a solo artist and The Beatles aren't just like any other group, the comparison you made is not even reasonable. You could certainly improve the group article, especially with those sources. Adding what you wrote to the group article would mean heavily modifying the wording to conform to our guidelines, WP:EPSTYLE. Hello, I noticed the original &AUDITION page was redirected to one without caps by you, "&audition", however this does not need to happen for "title of works", see page for M*A*S*H which is is all caps. I think we should respect the original branding. I think the same way with &TEAM's page. "BTS"'s page is also in all caps, since it's part of &TEAM's brand too, I think it's better if we do that. When adding archives

Just wanted to caution you when using a Bot to add archives to a page. Your edit just now, added several archives for chart issues in multiple countries that are completely unrelated to when RM's albums charted. Ik many editors think manual archiving is tedious, but it saves having to make subsequent edits like this one I just did when the archives don't match. The Ireland archive is also pointless. I haven't checked the others yet, but thought it was important to mention to you. This is especially the case when the general url to a chart is used/saved (as was for the Aus, Can and Ire refs) instead of a week specific url. Weverse notice link re: The Astronaut

In the Release history table, I left the ref space blank for SK because per the WV notice titled "[Notice] Information on the Pre-order of Jin’s Solo Single “The Astronaut” (+KOR/JPN/CHN)", dd Oct 18, separate dates were listed out for certain territories, so I did the table accordingly. However, unlike for the Various and US entries, I can't locate the link for the aforementioned notice even though I can see it on the app. I tried the website, but idk if it isn't on there at all or if I simply missed it. Jungkook's perfect pitch

Recently came across Talk:List of people with absolute pitch and saw the ongoing discourse about Jungkook's lack of inclusion on the page. One of the commenters said that Kim Youngdae mentions it in his BTS The Review book. I vaguely recall that during the BTS FAR, either you or Ernest had access to the book. Editing awards

Both {{u|Ivana}} and myself have added nominations for BTS for the MAMA awards and the Grammy awards. If is usually the understanding at Wikipedia that such edits about nominations are normally updated with the status of the wins once the wins are announced. I'm assuming also that once any wins are recorded for the Grammys next year, that these wins will be added to the article. You have deleted the wins I have added for MAMA awards from the article; which policy should be adopted for the Grammy awards next Spring? @ErnestKrause: I sourced the last 3 Grammy noms just because we are mentioning the specific number on the lead, and after checking multiple articles of Grammy nominees with no wins that seems to be common practice. I don't really have a problem with not mentioning every single award (there is a separate article for that) unless it is exceptionally notable in some way (like when they had a daesang all-kill). @ErnestKrause: Agree with Btspurplegalaxy; his enlistment was a private schedule and media wasn't invited. It looks like BBC is also publishing the image of him as public domain. Since he is the 'author' of the image (the selfie) and since he has published it on his own website, then the international press has picked up the image as public domain. It's common for news outlets to use celebrities images for articles, but that doesn't mean the image is public domain. If you were to uploaded that image now, it would automatically be flagged as copyright, as it doesn't qualify under public domain. His image is protected by copyright. Same situation. It won't work. You won't be able to get a picture. The pictures you keep mentioning are all copyrighted. None of the pictures have a proper CCL, so it can't be used. Writers are allowed to use pictures for an article, but it's a complete different thing when we use it on here. We can't use the picture as we please. We need to have the permission from the copyright holder, otherwise you're using a picture without the copyright holder's acknowledgement, which isn't allowed on here. Nice set of edits by you at the article yesterday. Regarding the question of doing the math for the military service dates, then it appears that they would all need to enroll by June 2024 of next year, if a reunion of the band before the end of 2025 is to be possible. I'm mentioning this becuase I haven't seen much comment from the individual band members about the reunion in 2025; only the general announcement from Hybe. I haven't seen any specific comment made about the reunion, all I know is that the members will continue doing solo activities until they decide to enlist. I know Suga will be enlisting soon, as he doesn't have much time left. We can only take the word of the Hybe announcement. We'll see how things progress when the members make a move to regrading their service. For now, we just have to wait and see what happens until then. Why are Music Festivals not needed?

Since it is a list of live performances, not his personal concerts, I think it makes sense to have it in there. I don't think a comparison to other Korean articles is really accurate here; rather comparing it to other musicians' live performance list (like Taylor's list above) would be more appropriate I think. B.I's live performances

Hi,

I saw you deleted some information about fan meetings and festivals in the Live performances section of B.I's page yesterday, I hope it's ok to talk about it some more?

WP:KO/FANMEET is inconclusive. It's an interesting discussion, but I don't see any reason to indiscriminately delete information about fan meetings everywhere based on it. B.I's 2022 fan meetings were small scale concerts held in several Asian countries. They were actual live performances (as shown in the referenced news articles) and clearly the first step before he could organize actual offline concerts. So yes, it is meaningful to include these particular fan meetings in the list of his live performances. Rest assured they wouldn't be there if he had just talked and played some games during these events. Would it be fine if his 2022 fan meeting tour was listed under the Other live performances section instead? This Fan meetings subsection wasn't meant to be a list of all his fan meetings, rather a list of his live performances that happened to be called "fan meetings", but I can see why it bothered you.

Festivals are important to any musician's career (maybe even more in B.I's case, considering it's also the only kind of large scale promotion he had in the first years of his solo career). Saw your talk with @Bostonite01310, and I strongly disagree with the point you made there. Sure, if the list of his live performances gets too long, a dedicated page should be created for it, as per WP:WHENSPLIT. But, in the meanwhile, the absence of such a page is not a valid reason to omit relevant events from the list. It would be misleading instead, since Live performances lists usually include festivals. Why would we let readers think B.I didn't participate in any festival when he did? Nonetheless, if you think the Live performances section is too large compared to the rest of the article, maybe we can consider splitting it soon? The right way to do it would be to create the new article first, then delete the duplicated information from the original article. It would mean to restore what you deleted until the article is ready, but would that solve the issue?

Fan meets aren't of any value. Wikipedia isn't a WP:NOTDATABASE. I wouldn't include music festivals as of now, like I mentioned to the other editor. If you want to create an article for that, do that as you please. You can create in your sandbox, then go through the reviewing process of your article draft if you create it. These particular fan meetings are valuable information about B.I's career, because they were his first concert-like events after he debuted as a soloist, both in his own country and abroad. And by all means he performed his songs live in front of an audience there, nothing more should be needed to include them in a live performances list, no matter what they're called.

I don't understand what you're trying to achieve by deleting the information about the festivals he took part in, when you also agree it belongs in a Wikipedia article. If someone is to write a dedicated article about B.I's live performances, it will be a lot easier if the list on his artist page is complete and they can just split it into a new article. I'm not sure either why you would think that it's acceptable to have a "Live performances" list where half the performances are missing. As far as I'm concerned, that's the real issue here, and the only reason I'm writing all this. We can't leave that list as it is now, and writing a new article will take some time, I'm sure you're aware of it.

In brief, your changes made the article worse, and I don't see any way to solve this in the short run except reverting them. Would you let us do that, or do you have another solution to offer?

Birth dates

How about putting the birth dates in small font in the Infobox by their names. This is the only way to learn about the range of their ages in the group which seems like useful info? ErnestKrause (talk) 16:40, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

We can't do that because there isn't an existing format for the Infobox to include that. If the reader is curious, they can click on the member's Wikipedia article link and found out more about them. As you said, Dimash should be mentioned by his last name in the article.Dinmuhammed is his first name. he should be mentioned as "Kudaibergan" or "Qudaibergan"

Suga news

I'm reading one dozen RS articles which state that Suga must be enlisted in military by his birthday next month, and now I'm reading one dozen RS articles telling me that he has scheduled a solo concert tour in USA in April. Are you making some sense of this? One other article talk about his having a possible medical issues deferment as an exemption from military. As far as I know, Suga will still carry out his mandatory military service. As long as he enlistments before he hits 31 he should be good to go. He will have time to do his solo tour, as he will still remain 30 until then. Even though has a sustained a shoulder injury, he can still serve. Your current Talk page set-up is putting my references above into nowiki format, which does not allow you to read them. Regarding Suga and military, the version you state is the opposite of what happened with Jin where newspapers were stating that he must go into service before his 30th birthday, which he did do. Now for Suga you seem to state the opposite, namely that it is not before becoming 30 years old, but you are adding an extra year. I'm not sure that works, since the reliable sources need to be consistent for Jin on the one hand and for Suga on the other hand. Because of the postponement, Jin could have enlisted up until the 1st quarter of 2023, but he opted to cancel his postponement and enlisted. Where Suga has not canceled his and will fully use it until it expires. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 20:42, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
