Reviewing "Nano (cryptocurrency)"?[edit]

Hello CNMall41!

I saw that you recently reviewed a few other cryptocurrency articles, so I wanted to get your feedback on the rewritten and resubmitted "Nano (cryptocurrency)" article. It was previously declined for lack of sufficient independent coverage, so since then we've rewritten the article and collected many more academic sources that should hopefully meet the WP:ORGCRIT guidelines. Is that something you might be able to review and give us feedback on?

Best regards, --Qwahzi (talk) 22:22, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it is in queue and should be reviewed by someone in time. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:07, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Nita Landry, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:23, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't create it. Just moved it from userspace to draft space. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:08, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ZeroDown[edit]

Hello, I saw you reviewed my article for ZeroDown. Your notes state that there was not enough independent coverage. I have added several references that are independent and robust in terms of their coverage. Is there anything else you would like to see to have this published? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelsutyak (talkcontribs) 06:26, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article Quality for Approval of Wikipedia Main Space[edit]

Hello there,

I did write one article on Wikipedia, regarding one of the company. It seems it declined by you. it's my first article on Wikipedia. please help me to understand what I did wrong, and how can I improve this article. I did also updated some of the article content, please check it out. please find out the article draft link below.

Answered at the draft page. Still don't see how anything other than the Forbes article meets WP:ORGCRIT. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:01, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Our Credo follow up[edit]

CNMall41 I appreciate your feedback on the Johnson & Johnson talk page regarding the Credo section. Can you take a look over my edits and new suggestions? Thanks in advance.--Chefmikesf (talk) 23:58, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chefmikesf, on the talk page, I suggested you use the official COI request process. You can request your changes without the need for a consensus. --CNMall41 (talk) 03:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Darryl Granberry, Jr.[edit]

You declined the draft for Darryl Granberry, Jr. as it "read more like an advertisement." I was wondering if you can look at it again. I removed everything that would sound advertorial. Thank you. --Bigeoxio (talk) 01:26, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bigeoxio, the tone is much better and draft was approved. I see that you had also attempted to create it under a different name a few years back. Please note that if you have a WP:COI or are somehow WP:PAID to create the draft, you must disclose it. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:09, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of DMarket[edit]

Hi CNMall41! Yesterday I provided a list of links to support my claim that there are enough sources that meet WP:ORGCRIT and establish notability of the subject. However, I had to go off to bed and when I woke up today I saw that the page was already deleted and I didn't even get to see your response. Thankfully, I had the message saved so I'll add it again below. I would highly appreciate it if you could go over it.

Well, off the top I could add these:
Popular Ukrainian Magazine - Pages 53-54, featured coverage in a print magazine.
VentureBeat - VentureBeat is considered to be a reliable source and there is significant coverage of DMarket
German Gaming News Site - Not a featured story, but a good portion of the article is dedicated to DMarket.
Argumenty i Fakty - "Argumenty i Fakty" is one of the top newspapers in Russia and Ukraine. Featured story.
Interfax-Ukraine - Interfax-Ukraine is also one of the most popular news agencies in Ukraine. Featured story.
Please let me know what you think. If anything, I can look for more. Aviatchan (talk) 17:26, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, you have some blacklisted link on your talk page that doesn't let people publish their edits. I had to edit a specific section to add this comment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aviatchan (talkcontribs) 17:29, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The only external links on the talk page are the ones you listed above. Maybe you were attempting to add a link that was blacklisted but there isn't anything on the page that would prevent a message from being left. As far as the deletion, you can check HERE for how to request the undeletion. Thanks and good luck. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:53, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your input needed for reclassification[edit]

I wanted to see if you could review the edits that I have made to the Yammer article and see if the quality of the article is above start-class according to the guidelines set in WP:COMPANIES. It appears the initial review was in 2015. Thank you! - FUMITOL ₪ LETS TALK 20:24, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fumitol, Thanks for reaching out. I did a quick search and don't see how this meets WP:NCORP actually. Which references specifically meet the threshold of WP:ORGCRIT? --CNMall41 (talk) 07:26, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Nita Landry[edit]

Hello, CNMall41. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Nita Landry".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 19:57, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mine. Likely moved it to draft for someone during the AfC process. --CNMall41 (talk) 07:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020[edit]

Hello CNMall41,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Draft: InfoBeans[edit]

Hello CNMall41,

Thank you for reviewing the Draft: InfoBeans.

Related to the comment of submission declined, could you please take a moment to review it again and suggest the specific changes required to make it notable for inclusion in Wikipedia.

Everything in the article is sourced from news articles, official reports of the company. If there are particular statements you object to I would appreciate you letting me know and I can rephrase them.

I am new to Wikipedia. Your assistance in this article would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!1994vd (talk) 05:37, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how to help you here. The page was deleted three times from the mainspace and already declined three additional times through AfC. It simply doesn't meet the guidelines of WP:NCORP, specifically as it relates to WP:ORGCRIT.--CNMall41 (talk) 06:52, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for looking at my query!

I am still not getting a clear idea about how this article is not meeting the guideline as I can see the similar articles in the mainspace and are active. Reviewed the below articles and many more with the similar flow of content and third party references used:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persistent_Systems https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HCL_Technologies

I have gone through the comments for the earlier page deletion from the mainspace. Article content of current submission is completely factual about the company than the previously deleted version with relevant third-party sources.

I'm willing to work with you to remove or rephrase the article to meet the notability guideline of Wikipedia. Please help me in editing the content.

Thank you!1994vd (talk) 12:47, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Mike Love (country singer)[edit]

I received a Speedy Deletion notice from you today (3/2/20), the day I created this page. Please delete it ASAP as I made the wrong type of page. I am trying to create one for my country music artist client Mike Love. His website is MikeLoveBand.com.

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Churilla14 (talkcontribs) 22:06, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Churilla14. Thanks for reaching out on my talk page. I see the page you created for Mike Love is now deleted. I would suggest working on drafts in your sandbox or draftspace prior to moving them. This way you can make sure they are complete and avoid any issues. Also, you state you are working on this "for my country music artist client." This would be a clear WP:COI and you will need to follow the guidelines of WP:PAID prior to editing further. Please read through those guidelines and make the proper disclosures. Thank you again and good luck with Wikipedia. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:24, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Peeple (company) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article. No evidence of notability per WP:NCORP or WP:GNG, in article or in a WP:BEFORE - the latter mostly shows other organisations of the same name.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Editing Draft:ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground[edit]

Dear CNMall41,

Thank you very much for your work of reviewing my article. Actually, the reasoning of your declination is ambiguous. You only says that "This draft is written more like a brochure for the test track than an encyclopedic article" but you do not indicate the points in which I failed. In this way, it is quite hard to correct the text that I would definitely do as I'm a new and still enthusiast contributor to Wikipedia. I'm actually over 100 scientific publications in my life (most of them published in IEEE and Sciencedirect), so I think I can correct it if you help me exactly what are the main problems. (When I'm writing a scientific paper, reviewers indicates the criticism in bullet points.)

Thanks a lot and waiting for your response! Nicosia98 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicosia98 (talkcontribs) 06:35, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not a scientific peer-reviewed journal. If I go through the entire draft and list out each point then I may as well clean up the draft myself which I don't intend to do. I will give you a few tips that may help and suggest that you start with WP:FIRST. Just looking at the opening, there is an issue with the WP:MOSLEAD as it starts more like a history section than an overview of the overall content. Next, make sure to watch the use of WP:PEACOCK words ("test cutting-edge automotive technologies") {emphases added}. Think of how you would read about something in a paper encyclopedia instead of something you would find on a website. That should hopefully help you get started. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:42, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 16:56:45, 16 May 2020 for assistance on [[Wikipedia:Cycas Hospitality]] submission by Curly Adventurer[edit]

Hi there, I have revised the Cycas Hospitality page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycas_Hospitality - multiple times since it was created yet someone keeps flagging that the content has multiple issues, even though I have repeatedly addressed them. It is definitely not written like an advertisement (I've compared it with many other businesses - eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patron_Capital - and it is very matter-of-fact in comparison), there are no inappropriate references to self-published sources and all sources are verifiable and neutral, as they are written by journalists.

Please can someone approve it once and for all, or be a bit more specific about what needs to be done? Much of the content has been stripped so there really is very little left to be deemed controversial and it's starting to seem like someone has a personal vendetta against the entry!

Thanks in advance

Curly Adventurer (talk) 16:56, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am guessing I reviewed the submission through AfC as I have never edited that page. I am inclined to agree with the tags. There are links for each notification that will take you to the relevant guideline which talks about what you will need to do to clean up the page. I would also ask you read WP:COIN and WP:PAID and make the proper disclosure if applicable. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:48, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice[edit]

Hi CNMall41, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

I am assuming you are reaching out as I have approved a lot of these in the last week. However, the ones you cited above all have comments from other editors about issues that need fixed. Prior to reviewing these for you, can you tell me if the issues have been addressed? GoingBatty, Ahh that makes sense now. Thanks. The script I was referring to was Twinkle. When you nominate a page it automatically notifies the creator. Since I didn't create it I thought there was an issue with Twinkle. Thanks for clarifying. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:52, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying. I do not use Twinkle. I was manually following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion#After nominating: Notify interested projects and editors. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 01:24, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About article Ave Fenix Pictures[edit]

Hello CNMall41, you created the Ave Fenix Pictures article in 2018. I clarified at that time I was an employer of the movie studio Ave Fenix Pictures out of Chicago. I wanted to ask your opinion and hopefully guidance about the deletion of the article you approved. Why did that happen? (Highlighting the fact that the same editor proposed deleting all our movie pages on May 11th)
The article appears to be deleted because it lacked references that showcased significant coverage with in-depth information, but I do contend that the references were always significantly obvious and multiple in relation to the article. I do not understand how a group of references can be enough for a reviewer and not another?
I do need to mention what strikes me is that two days before this happened an email was sent to our film studio asking for precise wordage to be removed from several of our Wikipedia articles in relation to a movie. Within 48 hours all of our studio and movie pages on Wikipedia were proposed to deletion. I would like to know to whom I have to escalate this fact, which seems to be an organized act for the deletion of all our articles.
Also, I would be grateful in your assistance to recover the article if that possibility still exists, and improve it, if that is the legitimate reason behind its removal.
(I am sending the same message to all reviewers who approved the Drafts of the articles). Thanks!--Michael.j.schwartz (talk) 06:01, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Michael.j.schwartz, I really don't remember the page but I can see the deletion discussion where it was found not to be notable. If I did approve it, that doesn't mean it is automatically goign to stay in Wikipedia. Articles approved through the AfC process are more than likely going to pass AfD, but that does not mean they are guaranteed to. Wikipedia works on consensus and it appears the editors involved in the deletion recommendation and discussion came to a consensus that it doesn't meet guidelines. You would need to ask for undeletion of the page if you feel it was not deleted within Wikipedia guidelines. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:56, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help on this matter, I appreciate it Regards!--Michael.j.schwartz (talk) 04:15, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CNMall41,

Your help can make a difference

NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.

Discussions and Resources
  • A discussion on handling new article creation by paid editors is ongoing at the Village Pump.
  • Also at the Village Pump is a discussion about limiting participation at Articles for Deletion discussion.

Primary topic for Radisson Hotels?[edit]

Hi CNMall, I noticed that you've edited Radisson Hotels, and wanted to ask your opinion as to the primacy of the name. I improved content on the early history of the hotel in Minneapolis, and was struck by the degree to which newspaper hits for "Radisson" are almost entirely about the hotel, with close to a million hits, easily 99% being for the hotel. I am thinking of proposing either to move "Radisson Hotels" to "Radisson" (the chain is occasionally referred to without using the word "Hotels"), or to move the Radisson disambiguation page to a disambiguated title, and redirect the title to "Radisson Hotels". What do you think is the best option? BD2412 T 21:33, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added the logo as it appears there is some confusion which what brand falls under what other brand and it didn't appear correct. Let me take a closer look and get back to you. --CNMall41 (talk) 03:11, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@BD2412:, The Radisson Hotel Group page has two Wiki-links for "Radisson" that go directly to "Radisson Hotels" which tells me others see what you do. I would think that the disambiguation page be made into a redirect to Radisson Hotels. My search on Google also pointed to the same and we should keep it to the main name people are likely searching for.--CNMall41 (talk) 03:36, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AfC declined[edit]

Hi! Certain Issues were raised on my draft which were more on the deletion part not on the addition part. 1 of the points raised was that my user name happens to be 1 of his son's name, Which I would like to clear that my relation to the subject is that I'm his student. Please don't decline the AfC , as I'll fix up the issues raised. Yes I have read all about the AfC of Biography & in accordance I have cited all the sources acceptable by wiki ( nothing from blog or unreliable source ). Most of the citations are from Google, Goverment websites, international journals etc . I will make it more viable & present it again. Thanks for the guidance Shekhar in (talk) 20:45, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Now there's no problem. I am sincerely thankful for asking me about it. Hope I am clear now. Thanks again Shekhar in (talk) 16:04, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Deepfriedokra:, how much time do you have? It's been long term abuse in relation to AfD nominations. I believe user was initially blocked for spam or had an article deleted (possibly was a sock at the time based on the comments in the AfD). After that, they have been on a deletion spree with nominations that contained no policy based reasons, defends them by saying they have a high percentage of deletions at AfD, then continues to engage in the same behavior. This goes back to 2016 and even had associated ANI reports.--CNMall41 (talk) 04:09, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Kent[edit]

Hello,

I have received a message regarding my first article on wikipedia, which is a biography of myself. I have yet to add references but on last reading of the terms and conditions of wikipedia articles should be on someone of public note. I am a bestselling author in the UK, Germany, Italy, Poland and Russia. I had assumed that this would qualify.

Please could you advise me if, in those circumstances, my article will be removed. And if it will, how do I go about having a wikipedia article about myself, as every other major author seems to have?

Thanks you and apologies for my confusion.

Tonykentwrites (talk) 15:44, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The first thing I would advise is reading through WP:COI and Wikipedia:Autobiography. These should help answer the unasked questions that need addressed first. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:55, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was a bit sharp earlier, um, sorry about that. Revert warring yes is not a good look, but I do think this can be resolved. Talk later. Ceoil (talk) 03:01, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ceoil. Thank you for the message. It takes a big person to do that. I realize that you may be a little more emotionally connected since it is a topic you are passionate about. As far as the page itself, I know we can get things done (although at this point I am wishing I never saw the post on the fringe noticeboard lol). I am not always on the same page as BD, but they are pretty good when it comes to NPOV which is why I haven't been doing much editing to the page itself just yet. I just want to make sure it reads NPOV and not just the POV of one or a few of the experts. Thanks again for reaching out. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:45, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
CNMall41, the only people that were passionate abut the article were the SPI accounts, representing the current owners, that originally built the page to read that it was probably, defiantly by Leonardo. Both myself and especially Aza24 only want to get it to a neutral state so we can move on with our lives. That said, am impressed by the levels of diligence and research evident from the contribs of those coming in via the fringe noticeboard. Ceoil (talk) 23:51, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking of your comment that "obv its a second hand knock off," which seems to be a personal sentiment. There are clearly people with more expertise than you or me who think it is by Leonardo, and of course there are people who think it is not. It's been pointed out to me that this sort of debate is going on with a lot of works claimed by some for Leonardo (there are even works that Kemp says are Leonardo with other experts saying no way). I agree, the page can't say that this is definitely by Leonardo, but neutrality doesn't mean reacting to that and taking the position that it definitely isn't, and belittling experts who think it is. It means saying that this is disputed, just like all the others with this kind of split.--CNMall41 (talk) 04:40, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 00:57:27, 13 September 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Bener30[edit]

Hello. I am in the process of trying to get a wikipedia page submitted and approved. The message I received seemed somewhat vague regarding a copyright issue. It did mention the source which could have caused the copyright problem but deleted the page before a change could be made. I was also alerted about a conflict of interest. The subject at hand is my boss who just so happens to be a public figure. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the page reviewed before it gets submitted for review and then immediately deleted. I understand it's a weird process in order to protect from posting incorrect information, but I am not really sure how to move forward with the process. An important part of being a public figure is making sure people can search for you on wikipedia. I am very eager to get a page posted, but also want to follow the wikipedia guidelines so it will not get deleted again.

Thanks!

Bener30 (talk) 00:57, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bener30, the messages are actually quite detailed. There are links within that discuss WP:COI which is the first issue that needs addressed. If you can review that link as well as WP:PAID and then make the appropriate disclosures that will help the process. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:02, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help Me Please[edit]

You helped approve my article for Mott 32 and was hoping you could help me with this one too https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Drawzdee/sandbox

Few questions for your first. Mott 32 and Malcom Woods are similar topics. What is your connection to them? Being that these are the only two articles that you have requested approval on makes me suspicious of you having a WP:COI or being WP:PAID. Please read both of those links and make an appropriate disclosure if applicable. Also, Woods is not inherently notable because of being a founder of Mott 32. What makes him notable outside of that?--CNMall41 (talk) 20:35, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I used to work for Mott 32 but not in any type of managerial capacity. Submitting the article was not part of my duty so while I would technically have a conflict of interest I would not be paid for any of this. My thought on Malcolm is because of his work in film which is something outside of his work with Mott.
Please forgive me but I am a little suspicious of your disclosure. The draft also has many references attributed to Mott 32 and not him which is what is needed for notability. However, there are at least two in-depth pieces about him so I will move it to the mainspace. For future reference, you will need to submit these directly to WP:AfC where editors can review them as they come up in the queue. --CNMall41 (talk) 01:36, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

why did you reject the Dgraph piece?[edit]

You rejected https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dgraph It is functionally identical to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo4j It is significant technology with a significant pedigree, funding, clients, news coverage, how-to articles on hackernoon and medium. I spoke with Blablubbs11 on IRC to find out more and he said it looked fine and I should submit it for approval.

IRC conversation

I ran across this whole problem while researching graph databases for a project at work and for some reason Dgraph wasn't there, despite being a pure golang implementation and a native graphql language, which was also notable. This decision to not allow an entry is just bizarre. Please reconsider. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smga3000 (talkcontribs) 01:31, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Being "functionally identical" isn't a Wikipedia guideline. See WP:OSE. The decline was for the reason stated on the draft. If you can fix those issues I would be happy to review it again but as it stands cannot approve it. --CNMall41 (talk) 01:46, 19 October 2020 (UTC)--CNMall41 (talk) 01:46, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Envato draft rejection[edit]

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review the Envato page I had submitted. Can I clarify: my understanding after reviewing the original deleted post (from last year was it?) is that there wasn't enough independent sources and the like; too many links back to the Envato website, blog etc. So I tried really hard to find the independent sources such pages need from across mainstream media and tech etc, and I thought it was substantially improved, especially the body text given the last version was, well, very marketing-speak? With "published, reliable secondary sources," can you clarify which of the links I had used as sources don't meet this threshold? I tried to compare the page to other competitors like Canva, Shutterstock, Creative Market and it seems like they have similar source bases. Definitely, it has better sourcing on page than that of the company it apparently bought (Twenty20). I'd love to resubmit it at some point but I know I need to get this bit right! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daveoftheinternet (talkcontribs) 05:39, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Based on your questions, I am not sure you read through the link I provided at WP:ORGCRIT. If you can review that and tell me which links in the draft meet that threshold I will gladly take another look. Thanks. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:36, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I'm sorry it's taken so long to be back in touch, IRL stuff got in the way etc etc. So I've done what you suggested and better familiarised myself with the ORGCRIT attributes and I better understand things now, thank you. I've reviewed the links I included in the article and by my assessment, nearly all of them meet the secondary requirement, most of them are independent and reliable and approximately half meet the significant threshold. I'd highlight in particular the links from publications such as the Australian Financial Review, TechCrunch, Sydney Morning Herald, Yahoo Finance and SmartCompany. Again, comparing to Envato's key competitors, it looks like this is better than the link split on Creative Market. My links also have less press release and 'owned' content (ie not independent) than what I could see on Shutterstock. In short - it looks comparable for this industry. Is this enough to have another look?

@Daveofhteinternet:, feel free to resubmit and another reviewer can take a look. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:13, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Burp Suite Draft rejection[edit]

Thanks for your input, much appreciated. I've done my best to pare it down to just descriptive NPOV and added additional reliable sources referencing this admittedly commercial product. From what I can tell, this should be not be seen as an advert, certainly when comparing with similar products within the ethical hacking community Nessus (software). Please confirm this is inline with WP guidance. Mvb71 (talk) 02:25, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There were two issues. The other was referencing which still doesnt look like it was addressed. As far as NPOV, it has nothing to do with being neutral but more with the way the draft reads like an instruction manual or brochure instead of an encyclopedia article. --CNMall41 (talk) 02:51, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:EuroGeoSurveys page - submission declined[edit]

Hi CNMall41,

Thank you for reviewing the EuroGeoSurveys page I submitted some months ago. Since July, the submission of the EuroGeoSurveys page on Wikipedia has been an ongoing effort which has not unfortunately payed back yet. Following the last message you submitted when declining the draft, may I please ask you to let me know in which way the sources I submitted are not reliable or not possible to verify?

Since I would like to speed up the process, I would like to to arrange a meeting with you outside the Wikipedia platform, in case this is not against your policy. In case feasible, I will privately share the details of the EuroGeoSurveys Secretary General in order to facilitate a communication exchange or a call.

Thank you.

ErikaErika.maugeri (talk) 14:17, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't meet with anyone outside of the Wikipedia platform and I highly doubt anyone would. As far as the draft, I never said the sources are not reliable. I left a note that says there are NO references for one of the paragraphs (and still no references when I just checked). --CNMall41 (talk) 16:52, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft Rejection - Glam Graham[edit]

Hello CNMall41. I appreciate your feedback and I think I fixed the issues you referred to in the article. I even deleted a lot of texts to make sure the article was strictly factual and non-biased. I also resized the pictures smaller and repositioned them. Please let me know what else needs to be done if anything so I can get this article approved. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glam Graham (talkcontribs) 16:15, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can resubmit and have it reviewed again. Although I will say that I don't think the draft stands a chance of approval at the moment as there are still issues. Once a volunteer editor decides to take up the topic and write about it she is likely to have a Wikipedia page written properly to meet guidelines (assuming she is notable). --CNMall41 (talk) 16:54, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

appropriate to remove template now?[edit]

I have added citations and sources to an article for Philip Lance. Do my edits suffice to remove the template? Thank you. Raulsantosgarcia (talk) 18:22, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That isn't up to me as anyone can contest a tag. However, it still doesn't address what has been stated multiple times in that there is at least one paragraph that is not supported by citations. Please see WP:INCITE. Also, what is your relationship with the subject of the article? --CNMall41 (talk) 18:23, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

My relation to the subject of the article is that I am a family member. This question prompted me to research the policy for family members and I discovered the COI policy. I will stop making any edits to the page. I will research whether I should disclose my COI concerning past edits that I have made. Meanwhile, I will suggest on talk pages that another independent editor look for source verification of the original claim that was made about this subject.Raulsantosgarcia (talk) 17:58, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the disclosure and adhering to the COI guidelines. Since you have been forthcoming, I would be more than happy to assist you with the article if you like. You can use the talk page to make the suggestions and I will review and implement accordingly. Thanks again and happy editing. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:49, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Draft:Mark Avery (businessman)[edit]

Hello, whilst I am not the original author of this article I have reviewed this bio and undertaken additional research into this person and added content and citations. I believe that this stub article may now meet your requirements. As I am still a relatively new editor I would appreciate any friendly assistance you can offer to help me understand if there are still issues to be resolved. Thanks SiamBill555 (talk) 06:55, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Based on your edits, it appears you have more experience than you state. The draft still talks more about other topics than just him and is masqueraded by references that don't talk about him in-depth. Prior to moving forward, please see WP:COI and WP:PAID and make the necessary disclosures if applicable. --CNMall41 (talk) 23:38, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol December Newsletter[edit]

Hello CNMall41,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.
