You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Carve (nl), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 15:53, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Carve nl", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 16:14, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Hi, I am writing to ask that my Wikipedia account be unblocked and the possibility to change my username. I am employed by Carve studio as a designer. I had the idea to create a Wikipedia page for the company, the company hasn't asked me to do this. I understand why my account was blocked, my previous article was considered as promotional material because it provided too much detail from a single source which runs the risk of being subjective. My goal moving forward is to provide minimal, objective information as a foundation for the Carve page, where other users can contribute and expand upon it. I understand the importance of community-based contributions and will ensure my contributions align with these guidelines. I hope my account is unblocked, so I can contribute to Wikipedia's growth and accuracy. Thank you. Carve nl (talk) 16:20, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Wikipedia has articles, not pages; this is a subtle but important distinction. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves and what they do, that is considered promotional here, you don't have to be soliciting or selling something. A Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Even if you intend others to edit about the company later, content must still meet certain basic standards. Articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic. Please read WP:COI and WP:PAID; note that employment is sufficient to trigger the paid editing disclosure requirement, you do not have to be asked or specifically paid to edit. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and editing about topics for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 16:34, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
