Lewis Masonic[edit]

Well, it was bad enough that an employee started the article, but this other editor can't seem to get it through his head that a paragraph in a 400 page book isn't necessarily legitimate criticism, especially from an author with an avowed bone to pick (said individual hasn't even bothered to learn how to cite, which I thinks knocks his input value down a few more notches).

I'm tempted to just throw the whole section out, especially since it's one incident from roughly 25 years ago, if not more - Manly Hall has been dead for 17 years, and his main works of Masonic interest are much older than that; he was writing as early as 1923. J.S.M. Ward I've never even heard of, actually. Basically, we have a standard POV warrior. MSJapan 15:27, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

For adding the citation to the Matt Bentley site. So are you a fan of wrestling? I'm guessing so, lol.

Fixing Vandalism[edit]

Hey Catmoongirl, on your page you stated that "Since I'm still a little new with Wikipedia, I've been sticking to reverting vandalism and trying to learn how to better contribute to articles."

Here is my question, "How do you go about finding vandalism"? Do you constantly visit pages and look at the history? Or, is there a way to be notified if someone makes a change? Thanks for the info. gordo

slow down with the edits[edit]

Please do not undo my edits regarding to Porifera section. The section that I fixed and that you messed up again had the following problems.

1. sponges are not the most primitive metazoans. They are extant, and while they have some primitive characteristics, the phylum Placozoa is argued to be as or more "primitive", if you will.

2. Sponges are still considered to be sister to Eumetazoa, that is what "basal means, so the next sentence is incorrect.

3. The paper from Werner Muellers group which is cited as evidence that sponges are the most basal metazoans shows no such thing, nor does it have priority on the topic.

4. sponges are not thought to be remotely similar to Volvox or an other volvocacean alga - the protists to which they are similar are the choanoflagellates.

5. Inclusion of sponge cell dissociation and re-aggregation is inappropriate in the introductory paragraph of the "taxonomy" section.

What exactly are your credentials with respect to this topic? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.175.45.83 (talk) 03:15, August 20, 2007 (UTC)

Snaps (game) (3rd AFD Nomination)[edit]

Hello!

I am contacting all registered wikipedia editors and admins that have contributed to the Snaps (game) article to let them know the page is now being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy.

If you wish, please share your thoughts at this article's entry on the Articles for deletion page. I look forward to any comments or thoughts you have on this manner! --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 06:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put in a request for comment on the section currently titled "Very Different From Hippies and Grateful Dead Fans" due to the reversions by the section's author. I have added a POV tag, the RfC and also reported him for 3RR violation due to the arbitrariness of his stance. If you care to, would you check the talk section and the section in question and add your comments? Thanks! Wildhartlivie 07:20, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
