Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts[edit]

Here is the red link you requested: Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts

In the future, you can do this yourself by putting the exact title of the article that you want to create into the search box to the left and then hitting "Go". This will bring up a page saying that no article currently exists by that title and asks you if you want to create it. Just click on the create it link and you're off and running.

I also made a couple changes to the Simon Longmore article just to get you started. In biographies, the subject is generally referred to by their last name. I changed some of these instances but didn't go through it all. I created a section for external links and formatted them. And put the first instance of the article's subject in bold (subsequent mentions of his name need not be bolded, just the first).

I would offer one more bit of advice at this time though about that Longmore article. Try to write from a neutral point of view. I'm thinking specifically about the part that says something like "...and was even in the Army!" If you look in other articles, you won't find many exclamation points. Encyclopedias should be impartial and not have the air of having been written by a fan. Having said that, I do have to also say that you're off to a good start editing wise.

If you have any other questions that I might help with, don't hesitate to ask me or inquire at the help desk again. Dismas|(talk) 19:37, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Simon Longmore[edit]

A tag has been placed on Simon Longmore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Angus McLellan (Talk) 13:56, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
