Copy edit tag on La Luz del Mundo
Hi there. In this edit you added a {{copy edit}} tag to the article on La Luz del Mundo Church with the reason "article includes statements based on a point of view that lacks neutrality". From my understanding, copy editing is for grammar, spelling, and style not for neutrality issues. I have removed the tag, but could you have a look at the article? - Hey there Ajaxfiore! Thanks for contacting me. Copy editing is much more than what you assume it to be. The tag was actually placed correctly, while a neutrality tag could certainly have been an alternate choice. It is not required to make a comment on the talk page, really, unless further clarification is requested. There is currently ample discussion on the talk page pertaining to this issue. I have no desire to become involved in the ongoing, long-term edit war of this article. In all honesty, I would recommend before removing the maintenance tag, in the future, if you have questions, please make an attempt to communicate with the editor who placed the tag and request clarification. Otherwise, it could just result in another pile-on member of the edit war. Who needs that? At this point, I am fine with you removing the template, since the issues I was concerned with have been or are being addressed. There are currently other editors working to bring neutrality to this article and I am confident in their ability to do so. Hope you have a great weekend! - Thanks for your response. I apologize for being too bold in removing the tag, it is not my intention to start an edit, I wish to leave all angry disputes behind. I will take your advice into consideration and also read Wikipedia policies for clarification on copy editing. Since February the other two editors have been essentially absent from the article, in fact one has completely vanished, leaving me as the only editor making significant contributions to the article. - Hi Stevie! I took at look at the article and attempted to source and expand it. While it is clear that he had two works on the Irish Charts, there is sadly, minimal significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The article was previously deleted due to the inability to establish notability based on this lack. Rather than submitting the article directly to AFC as you have done, I have copied and expanded your draft at User:Stevieweymark/Howard Moss (musician). This is by no means an endorsement or statement that the article is ready for the mainspace. Please spend some time searching for sources to help verify notability. It is not required that these sources exist solely online. Offline sources are perfectly fine. Search in books, magazines, journals, newspapers, whatever you can get your hands on. We're looking for significant reliable and independent sources. It won't help if Moss himself states that he is the "cat's meow", per se, we need someone else to say it. Yes, the Irish Charts website does support the claims made, but this is not significant coverage. And the bandcamp profile is not independent of Moss. At the same time, we don't want to promote his (as yet unreleased) album, which is sourced to the bandcamp profile. Hope this helps. If you have additional questions, feel free to ask. 2 Miley Cyrus photos with odd or incomplete licenses
Hi, can you look at these two photos of Miley Cyrus (one is now used in her infobox, the other is for some reason tucked on the same file page but unused): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Miley_Cyrus_2012.jpg. I just now ran into them because someone on the Talk page wanted an updated infobox photo and I was curious about the existing one. The 2013 photo with short hair seems to have been very recently uploaded and "self-licensed" but is unclear or incomplete. The 2012 photo with long hair doesn't have any licensing info that I can see; where is the license? And why is the 2013 photo stuck onto the same file page? Mysteries. BAYADA entry
Hi - I noticed you tagged my entry BAYADA Home Health Care a few weeks ago with the notability, orphan and primary sources tags. Two weeks ago, I started a talk page and edited the entry to address your concerns. Specifically, I replaced several primary sources with third party sources, added a couple of incoming references from other Wikipedia entries, and added additional information to support the company's inclusion on Wikipedia, such as how it has over 250 offices and over 18,000 workers in its provider network. I would like to remove the notability and primary sources tags, and of course would encourage others to continue to link to this from other entries. What is the process - I don't want to overstep my authority by removing your tags, but do not want the entry to be incorrectly tagged any longer than necessary. I'm a (relatively) new editor to Wikipedia, and worked on one of the pages you've recently flagged: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenore_Malen The edits to Lenore Malen's page were commissioned by Malen to correct a well-intentioned but erroneous stub page, which had been previously created for her by a colleague. I worked with her to expand and clarify her bio page. I appreciate your feedback, and the issues you noted have since been addressed and edited, including your salient criticisms of some of the phrasing (taken from her texts, not from third party sources). The image credits for the works included have been cleared except for one photograph of this artist's installation, which has been removed pending the email confirmation from Tuft University photographer for this show. It will be added when he has cleared it. I'd like to request that the flag notice on this page header be removed, but didn't want to take it off myself without checking in. Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Hi, Cindamuse -- thanks for checking the Flamethrowers page. Was the problem the plot summary? My sense was that since the text came from the novel's jacket copy, it would fall under the same fair use as, for example, the jacket cover jpg. (The copy came from here, at worldcat.) - You always want to make sure to use your own words when writing and editing articles. The article was primarily a direct copyvio of the Amazon site. Unless you are quoting content, don't rely on fair use when writing articles. If you check the duplication detector, you will see remaining copyvio in the article. Heads-up: I am going to attempt to re-post Chas. H. Hansen Music Corp., and would appreciate a little leniency and support — give me about two weeks. Truth be told, it is much easier to build this particluar article live, as opposed to doing it in a sandbox or a word doc. The topic is notable from several perspectives.
- Hansen Music was an example of music folio reprint business that helped many struggling publishers in the 1950s. The model is being replicated today, an era in which single sheet music has disappeared and major sheet music retailers (e.g., Colony Record and Radio Center & the Joseph Patelson Music House, both in Manhattan) have closed.
- Chronicling publishers, particularly music publishers, on wikipedia, if done well, can be very useful in several ways. In particular, the succession of publishing rights is incredibly complicated. And there's a freight-train of prolific publishers that no one can identify. Knowing who was who is useful.
- Hansen Music, like a lot of publishers, was influential in disseminating popular music to the masses.

- Thanks for the heads up. That said, there are a couple of concerns here. The three bullet points you mention above do not help to establish notability for the organization. In essence, its "helpful, obsolete, useful, and influential". Since article was previously deleted through community discussion, I'm going to recommend that you draft the article in your userspace. If you can establish notability and appropriately meet the concerns brought up in the AFD, I have no problem with restoring the article, but you need to follow the process. - I'm curious why you have removed content in order to hopefully be able to delete the article. (I've restored the content and edited the promotional tone.) Populated placed are considered notable. (See WP:NGEO) Yes, the article needs sourcing. Reliable sources that document and verify governmental recognition of a place will be sufficient to establish notability. Cindy, could you please explain your rationale for tagging this page for speedy deletion? It is neither orphaned (which if this criteria is failed, G6 doesn't apply anyways), nor does it disambiguate to other disambiguation pages, nor does it disambiguate one or zero pages, nor is there a primary topic. - First off, thanks for contacting me. Please understand that I have no special hatred of you. Honestly, not even normal, everyday hatred of you. Not sure why you would think that. I don't recall whether our paths have ever crossed before. There's no edit warring, since I've only made one edit to this page. While patrolling new pages, I reviewed this dab page for compliance and placed a G6 CSD tag on it. Please take a look at Wikipedia:G6#G6. I placed the tag because it disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic). Hope this helps. - After bringing this to my attention, I've noticed in the history that I placed a tag last week on Alan deSouza (disambiguation), which was declined by another editor, who unfortunately lacked an understanding of the criteria. You then moved the page to a different title. Coincidentally, I encountered these two pages several days apart. Note that the editor was not actually an administrator, but an individual trying to help out. To provide some background, the primary topic of the first dab page (Alan deSouza (disambiguation)) is (was) Allan deSouza. In the second dab page, the primary topic is Alan DeSousa. Note that you have a hatnote on Alan DeSousa, which states "This article is about the politician. For the artist, see Allan deSouza. For other uses, see Alan DeSousa (disambiguation).". This is a bit out of sorts, since there are no other uses. I'll make a quick edit to the article to (hopefully) bring some clarity. Feel free to drop me a line if you have questions.
