WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter

Delivered: 10:53, 18 January 2009 (UTC) by MiszaBot (talk)

Is there a specific reason why you created this? Its can exact replica of Template:Infobox Wrestler. If there isn't I am going to redirect it.--TRUCO 03:33, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need for the uncivility. I was WP:BOLD (bold) enough to move it per WP:COMMONSENSE (common sense); it was the exact same template as the one mentioned above and it wasn't linked to a specific mainspace article.--TRUCO 21:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well you can't go around making new templates without consulting WP:PW first, and if you wanted to work on it, you should have created it in a sandbox, not in the mainspace.--TRUCO 21:11, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject College football February 2009 Newsletter

The College football WikiProject Newsletter
Issue XV - February 2009
Project news
  • The offseason is here, but that doesn't mean there isn't work to be done. National Signing Day has concluded, and a raft of new players are preparing for the season.
  • Two college football-related featured article candidates have been proposed: 2008 ACC Championship Game and 2008 Humanitarian Bowl need your comments, questions, and criticism to become featured articles.
  • A backlog of college football good article nominees is developing. Six college football articles: Darren McFadden, 1998 Gator Bowl, Mark Sanchez, 1954 Orange Bowl, Thom Darden, and Keith Bostic (American football) need to be reviewed for Good Article quality.
  • A lengthy discussion about the use of team logos in different articles is under way, and your help and comments are requested. Because the argument has gotten heated at times, editors are reminded to stay civil and respect other viewpoints, even if you may disagree with them. An excellent overview about Wikipedia's rules for non-free images can be found here.
  • It's never too early to start thinking about spring football! Be sure to carry a camera and get pictures of players, teams, stadiums, and all the action and pageantry of college football. An excellent guide to taking pictures for WP:CFB can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject College football/Images. Even if you don't think a photo can be immediately used for an article, try uploading it to Wikimedia Commons so future article authors can use it.
  • The College Football Portal needs to be updated with featured articles and pictures. Do you have a great picture that illustrates the best of college football? Consider adding it to the featured image queue on the portal.
From JKBrooks85

Welcome to the latest issue of the College football WikiProject newsletter! I hope that you're enjoying regular updates about the goings on of college football on Wikipedia, but if not, feel free to add your name to the "no delivery" section on the newsletter signup page.

I encourage everyone to make regular visits to the College Football Portal and perhaps make it your Wikipedia entry page instead of using the Main Page as your gateway. Nominations for selected articles and pictures are always welcome, and can serve as a great way to show off that new article you just shepherded to Good Article status or the great picture you took the last time you were at a game.

Comments and suggestions on improving the newsletter are always welcome, and help me improve it on a monthly basis. Keep contributing and editing, and don't hesitate to contact me or post on the College Football Wikiproject talk page if you need help or just want someone to look over your article.

Opinion in RfC

In the RfC at Template talk:Infobox NFLactive, you stated that You "agreed with Chandler." But then you placed your name in the column that opposes the removal of the colors from the infoboxes, whereas Chandler is an ardent supporter of removing them. Do you mind clarifying your position?--2008Olympianchitchat 04:07, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UFO Hunters (Historyl)?

Why did you move the UFO Hunters page? It was fine the way it was. You changed it to UFO Hunters (Historyl) with an "l" in the name, and someone else came by to correct it but moved it to "UFO Hunters - The History Channel". I set it back the way it was and where it should stay. You provided no good reason why it was changed to begin with. Cyberia23 (talk) 01:30, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page to just "UFO Hunters" which used to be the diambig page between the two shows (SciFi version and History version) because it looked like both shows were going to air simultaneously. Since the other is defunct and renamed, the history channel show should get the article name. Cyberia23 (talk) 01:49, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:UFO Hunters (The History Channel), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:UFO Hunters (The History Channel) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talk:UFO Hunters (The History Channel), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
