Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year! I hope you have an amazing productive year, filled with happiness. Much Love, Arre 12:07, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! Same to you! Creativity97 19:11, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

I'm afraid it is true. The actress confirmed via twitter that she had wrapped up filming. Arre 04:27, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Aw. That's too bad. I really thought the actress had come a long way. Creativity97 15:31, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Todd, John, Starr

Whoa, Its weird that they are leaving after such a short amount of time on GH. Do you think they are permanently leaving and returning to OLTL or just leaving GH for contract negotiations? Arre

Personally, I saw this coming. As soon as Prospect Park announced its plans to revive OLTL and AMC, it said that they had the rights to Todd, John and Starr and they could be written off GH at any time. It's sad, because they each brought something special to Port Charles. But like the Daytime Confidential report says, these characters will clearly help the OLTL relaunch because they were big fan favorites before. But it also says that the actors aren't thrilled on having to leave GH. My prediction is that they will leave GH for a while to help relaunch OLTL, and if the actors and ABC are still interested in GH after that they will return. Creativity97 22:13, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm not too certain. It feels like they just started on GH. But they do belong at OLTL. But obviously they aren't thrilled to be leaving a television show for a webseries :\ Arre 22:19, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that's a big demotion. Because of the huge difference between television series and web series, I think they may still want to return if they're allowed to. Creativity97 22:23, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
I think the people who have been unsuccessful in getting other roles since AMC/OLTL ended will jump at the idea of returning. However now that those 3 have been on GH, which is in a good stride and overtook Days in ratings, I'm not sure if they will want to go back to OLTL. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm curious to see how this Prospect Park thing will be like. Arre 23:33, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Victoria

Hey, great work on Victoria Newman, but there is just something I'd like to bring to light. Victoria's casting isn't development. Casting doesn't affect how the character has developed, unless you want to have "portrayal" and have quotes of how each actress played the part differently (ie Kate Howard). But that isn't the case here. Casting should be in a different section. There isn't really info about creation (like if she was brought on to tackle a social issue, or to fill the avoid of another character). I know you modeled the article around the format of Carmella Cammeniti, but she's only been played by one actress. You might want to consider this. I didn't go ahead and change it for you, because I know you have nominated it for GA and would like to handle things from here. Arre 07:52, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

I've taken the article George O'Malley to GA and a friend of mine told me that Casting belongs in the development section. In a way, it kind of is how the character developed, because casting an actor into a role to portray a character is the development of something. My opinion. I've seen numerous other GAs that list Casting under development. I was thinking of renaming that section "Casting and characterization". Regardless, thank you for your concern. Creativity97 15:48, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Those are primetime television shows. I get what you mean, I was just suggesting this if/when you are getting Victoria to GA. You know? It's sort of basic that she would have a casting section because she has been recast several times. There has been lots of coverage on Victoria over the decades - it's best to utilize all of this information. The difference between Victoria and all of those characters is that she has existed for 31 years. :) But keep up the great work. Arre 16:58, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Vampires and slayers

You're watching General Hospital, right? What are you thinking about this storyline? I know people say it's stupid but I am actually enjoying this in contrast to what soaps have been aiming to do recently which is have more "real" storylines. I enjoy the mystery storylines more. Anxious to know your opinion Arre 06:04, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

I haven't really been able to get into this storyline. I don't really see it as mysterious and suspenseful because it's very random. I really don't understand why they're bringing back Port Charles characters. I thought it was kind of funny at first to embrace Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco's previous roles, but I don't see how this storyline aimed to increase viewership for February sweeps is supposed to do that. If anything I want to watch to see how this outlandish plot will turn itself around. The only thing I'm truly enjoying about GH right now is the Patrick, Britt and Sabrina love triangle. Britt is awful but the way she terrorizes the people around her is great! Because all the OLTL characters are exiting soon, are Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati staying? Creativity97 02:17, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
It is random but It's really nice how they are doing this for PC fans, a decade later. I'm really anxious to see if John really is Caleb, which I highly doubt, but anyway. I used to watch a little PC back in the day and I loved it. I'm not too into the Patrick/Britt/Sabrina thing. I love Sabrina but she is too young for Patrick and Brittch is just annoying, aha. I just can't get into him with anyone else knowing Robin is out there . But what I'm super duper excited about it Genie Francis! YAY! I loved Genevieve but GH is her home. Arre 05:05, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
I guess, but they shouldn't have waited so long to address this for PC fans. Yes I'm not sure about a Patrick/Sabrina romance because of the age difference but at least Britt is out of Patrick's love life. I'm interested to see what "secret" Laura returns with. Creativity97 13:19, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
This last episode was so creepy! (Hope I'm not spoiling it) but when I saw Caleb...omg, he looks so different from John. I actually thought John was Caleb but I'm really happy he isn't. But it's good they are addressing this. The writers are being very smart about it considering they are two different shows set in the same town, and the same actors. I hate Britt but I think the actress is doing a really great job. So pumped for Laura to return, and I love Genie's hair! wow.. not sure. But I hope Luke and Laura get back together eventually. I thought they wouldn't but hopefully like all love stories, they will end up together. Arre 05:14, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I agree! On a completely different note, do you do good copyediting? Because if you do, would you be interested in giving Victoria Newman a good copyedit? The GA reviewer suggested it have a good copyedit before we continue with the review. Creativity97 21:10, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Not the greatest, but I'll see what I can do. Arre 05:24, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
By the way.. is there any reason for the vandal rv on Nick? Arre 05:28, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
I've made a few minor adjustments to the article. Due to policies, I removed a YouTube source, but expanded characterization a bit. There are a lot of Heather Tom sources from google newspaper archives. Arre 06:21, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your help! I reverted Nkplay2's edit because it's already been established that Soapcentral is not reliable for character information, so I removed it. I didn't mean to identify it as vandalism. I clicked the wrong button. LOL. Creativity97 13:34, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
Aha, np. Yes, I thought so! He is a great editor. Soapcentral is good for storylines but their dates are inconsistent. Also, I know your reviewer had asked to have the years in Victoria's storyline. But, having studied and seen a lot of GA reviews for articles of this nature, dates aren't needed. It violates the world of fiction, sort of how adding deaths do; plus it looks kinda messy. Just thought I'd point that out. Arre 04:55, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
The reviewer told me that they think soap pages are guilty of not being able to properly source storylines because, as we all know, it's a constantly continuing story. But they said it's better like that so a reader can have a sense of what event happened when. Creativity97 14:41, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Colleen Carlton

Tammin Sursok didn't reprise her role as Colleen on December 23, 2010, it was some unnamed actress who was only shown with the grim reaper's hood over her face. Jester66 (talk)

Okay, thanks. I was unaware. Creativity97 16:31, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

GOCE February blitz

Hi Creativity97. I just popped in to look at the blitz page and noticed that you have listed three articles in your entry there. I wonder if you have fully understood how the blitz works? Are they articles that you plan to copy edit during the blitz, articles that you would like someone else to work on, or what? Best regards, --Stfg (talk) 16:10, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

They are articles I would like someone else to copyedit. I thought during a blitz the League of CopyEditors has a goal of trying to reduce the number of requests on their request page, so I put in three requests. Is this not how it works? Creativity97 16:31, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
It is, but you have placed your requests on the blitz page, not on the requests page, which is here. You have already requested Victoria Newman there. Everyone is allowed three requests at a time, so you are welcome to add Cane Ashby and Adam Newman at the bottom too if you like. You only need to register on the blitz page if you intend to do some copy editing yourself. Best, --Stfg (talk) 16:48, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Oh, okay. I wasn't aware of that. I thought I was to put my requests for the blitz on the blitz page. My mistake. Apologies, Creativity97 16:57, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
There's nothing to apologise for. Glad I could help. Cheers, --Stfg (talk) 18:19, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:TB Lauren.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:TB Lauren.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. I hope you're well

Hey C97, I hope you are well and enjoying your break from Wikipedia. I noticed you haven't been on for nearly two weeks. Hope all is well. I can't believe all the recent soapy changes. I'm so traumatized. I don't know how to feel about the Lulu Spencer-Abby Newman situation. Oh, and I'm so excited for Ashley to return to Genoa City, along with Eric crossing over! Yay Arre 05:11, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I am well. I've been doing so much work outside of Wikipedia, that's why I said I'm "temporarily available" to do major editing. I'll be back in a couple weeks for sure. I still check in when I can. Haven't been watching GH for a few weeks (got bored) and I haven't had time for Y&R for a short time. What's the Lulu-Abby situation? I'm unaware. I heard about Ashley coming back for awhile, always excited to hear about people returning. Anything else major happening on Y&R? I've tried to read recaps but they don't always help. Creativity97 05:20, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
too bad, General Hospital is the best soap on right now. Well, Julie Marie Berman quit GH. And they have hired Marcy Rylan to replace her. So she's leaving the role of Abby and ofcourse, JFP has hired another Hollywood Heights actress to play Abby, ugh. Yes. Thank god the Abbotts are saved, they were becoming extinct. I hope Eileen Davidson can be on both shows.Oh, did you hear about the new rumored/partly-confirmed storyline involving Jack, Phyllis, Summer and Kyle? So juicy. On YR nothing much has happened apart from Chelsea's pregnancy, Nikki's MS, the new Newman ranch being finished and Avery's case/Tyler and Leslie's past. Arre 05:27, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
OMG! I knew nothing of that. But they made a huge deal of Marcy Rylan being rehired on Y&R and now she's just gonna leave after a few weeks? That's dumb. I don't want another Abby. While I enjoy both Robert Adamson and Hunter King I don't want yet another Hollywood Heights actor. Is JFP gonna keep bringing in actors she's previously worked with at some point? So dumb. Thanks for the update! No, haven't heard about this new storyline with Jack/Phyllis and Kyle/Summer. What is it? Creativity97 05:31, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
I know right? She hasn't even been there a month. I bet Y&R feel really bad now. I know, JFP is so annoying how she keeps hiring HH actors. Robert Adamson is great. Hunter King is a crap actress, Lol. You're welcome. Well, it's been "spoiled" (and spoilers always happen) that Phyllis' life is changed by a revelation. This is at the same time Summer is crushing on Kyle (Summer got a job at Jabot to be closer to him, pathetic I know). So everyone thinks Jack is finally going to be revealed as Summer's actual father, making Kyle her half-brother (Billy/Mac-esque). Also, people think Dylan and Sharon are siblings. I hope this isn't true... they have so much chemistry, ahaArre 05:35, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
What? Why are they gonna rewrite history? Summer's conception was like the main part to Shick's legendary breakup! ARGH! What's going on with the soaps?! Hopefully it's just a silly rumor. Hunter King isn't great but she's brought the role way farther than Lindsay Bushman ever could have. How are they ever gonna write Dylan and Sharon as siblings? That's dumber than dumb. Yes, they have amazing chemistry and I love them together. Also, if they decide to rewrite Jack as Summer's father than that's going to launch Nick back into a storyline with Phyllis and they've done such a good job of keeping them apart onscreen, LOL. Creativity97 05:45, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
I think the door was always left open for a future storyline that would reveal Summer as Jack's. It's so obvious, there's been so many hints over the years. And we all know how desperate Phyllis was to hold onto Nick. But, you know, I think Nick knows as well. he was acting particularly objective towards Summer being close to Kyle. Hmm, I didn't like Lindsay Bushman initially but she was far better than Hunter King. But Hunter King is better than Fen, lmao. I know right. Dylan's mother is dead... I mean, I've always wanted Sharon to have a sibling because its unfair how everyone else does but her, but Dylan? no way. Hmm I would love for Summer to be Jack's. It just means 'Phick' are officially over, thank god. But that's a good point - if it wasn't for Summer Sharon/Nick wouldn't have parted ways. It would make the past 8 years (well, "18" years in soap time lol) a waste. Btw, Kate is back on GH:) Arre 05:51, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
I know about Kate, that's about when I stopped watching. Just no time to follow two soaps. I guess in a way Jack being Summer's father would have potential. I don't know. We'll have to see. Creativity97 06:26, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

uploading images

Hey C97. Try to upload images for the info-boxes as a png file. It gives better quality :) Arre 08:53, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure I'm able to do that, I'll check. But thanks for the advice! Creativity97 15:06, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Another thing, its no biggie, but I've noticed the images you upload are sort of long. Can you try to keep them a bit smaller? For example, Lily Winters is a bit to long for the info-box. Just a note:) Arre 05:14, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Soap pics

Hi. i see that you edit a lot of US soap opera articles. a few months ago i was told that it is against wikipedia policies to have "fancy photoshoot" images to depict soap characters. there are many other soap articles that have fancy photos, so would anyone be willing to reinstate the better quality images for US soaps? Teeveefreak8802 (talk) 02:32, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

That will not be happening. It has already been established that while it is against Wikipedia policies to use high-quality non-free images to depict characters, screenshots and such better depict characters in their natural state. So, the images that are there now will be staying. Creativity97 02:35, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Creativity97, I'm beginning the copy-edit you requested to the above article at the GOCE Request page. Please feel free to contact me, or to correct or revert my edits if I'm doing something I shouldn't. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 02:25, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Everything looks fine except for one major thing; a lot of the information from the "Relationships" section was removed. I understand some of the content that would make it sound a bit like a trashy soap magazine, but there was some good information that was there that is gone now. Input quotes from head writers of the show is fine to be there. The way it is reading now is just like a summary of the storylines section. I'm going to fix some of it, and we'll go from there. Creativity97 21:12, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
I have reinstated some of the information in "Relationships" that was removed. This way, it includes input from actors and producers/writers involved in the storylines, which is how Development sections are supposed to go. Again, thank you for taking the time to do this. Creativity97 21:51, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi, yes that's fine, I'm almost always willing to be reverted on copy-edits. I'll continue with 'Storylines' a little later tonight. I usually check sources in 'Reception' sections where I can so expect lots of changes there too. :-) Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 00:01, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
I don't think they'll be a lot to do in Storylines. As for Reception, I don't mean to sound bossy, but can you just fix the grammar/reword sentences? I think that's all that needs to be done. Thanks! Also, just curious, do you review articles for GA? Creativity97 01:12, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Sorry but I'm not a GA reviewer but i do try to edit in compliance with the criteria. As for reception, I'll try and go easy but I do check online sources where I need to, especially where I find short or disjointed quotations. I've found many misused quotations in the past which is contrary to the second GA criterion (no original research) and is patently dishonest. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 03:41, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

In 'Reception', I find that the same author—Connie Passalacqua—is quoted twice from two different sources; once each from Herald Journal and The Durant Daily Democrat. Is this the same article syndicated across the US, a book serialization, or are they two separate articles? I can't check as I don't have unfettered access to newsbank et al. Is there a reason for using 'cite book' rather than 'cite news' in the references per Help:Citation_Style_1#Templates? I've done a little more than grammar and spelling fixes, but nothing very drastic. Anyway I'm finished for now, Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 05:53, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

They are two separate articles. I just used cite book because it was easier, and most of them came from newspapers. Thank you for all your help! Creativity97 12:31, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for that; I'll finish the c/e tonight (Sat/Sun GMT; I was busy last night so couldn't edit) and will likely convert to 'cite news'; I'll assume the titles in the 'chapter=' parameter are the actual titles of the articles. I've added a few urls and removed a misused ref with its text (see talk). Using 'cite news' is as easy as using 'cite book'; I've now converted the first para per above. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 17:07, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
Sounds good. Creativity97 20:09, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm done now; I've removed another reference to talk because I think it was misused—it does not contain what the article text said it does, and fourm posts aren't generally considered to be reliable. Feel free to contact me about any issues arising from the copy-edit. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 01:49, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

GA Review

Hello! Not to be a talk page stalker or anything, but I've noticed that you have had Cane Ashby nominated for GA for awhile now and have been looking for a reviewer. I am familiar with the GA criteria from my previous Wiki account and am interested in reviewing this article. Disambiguation link notification for April 30

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Young and the Restless characters (2013), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Buzz (Radio Show) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). A tag has been placed on File:BM Traci.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Eeekster (talk) 02:47, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Question

Do you watch Days? If so please can you add a one paragraph summary of Will's storylines including the main points of the Sonny story. I removed over 4000 bytes, which is unacceptable, IP keep updating it all the time. It is a shame they cannot create another section for the development section instead.Rain the 1 01:16, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

I would love to help you out, however, I do not watch Days. I can agree with you how it is annoying how overly detailed storyline sections become when IPs are constantly adding little pointless things. I'm not sure what you mean by it's a shame they cannot create another section for the development section instead, can you clear that up? Even though I do not watch the series, I can help with condensing any storyline sections? Creativity97 01:27, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Well instead of adding a large plot recount - they could have wrote a section on his latest notable stories from the real world perspective. A short update of storylines then would have sat nicely alongside it. It may not need condensing anymore, just small updates. I am sure someone will offer to help if they watch.Rain the 1 01:53, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Storylines can be updated just by users who are fluent with the topic and will eventually see they need updating, or not. Now I see what you mean, but I don't think IPs who add little snipits to storyline sections would be capable of developing a new section for development. But yes, it would be better, if only ;) If you ever need help with anything else that's soap related, I'm usually available. Creativity97 02:00, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Victor

Hi C97...what's goin on? I thought we were eventually going to work on Victor Newman together & co-nom? I'm kinda hurt that you have already jumped the gun. Not only because it's unfinished and is in need of a good copy edit, but because I did a lot of expansion and clean-up work for that article Arre 02:26, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I'm very sorry. I wasn't sure if you were still interested in taking Victor to GA, and because you were still working on Nick's article, I thought I would clean it up a bit. I didn't realize you wanted to co-nominate that one; if I'd known for sure that's what we were gonna do, I would've waited. Again, very sorry. I will withdraw the GAN for the time being until you are ready to work on it some more? On that note, what more do you think should be added to it? Creativity97 21:01, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
It's okay, no hard feelings. I didn't know you were eager, i would have liked to know first though. But, I think Victor needs a bit more of a condense and a lot of tweaking. We could co-nominate it together at the end of the week? Arre 05:58, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Okay That sounds good, I can help out with that when I get a chance. Creativity97 12:20, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi C97. I just wanted to let you know I am very unwell with tonsillitis and I'm not sure how this will affect my time online here. I may not be here for a while or may be here everyday. Just telling you this now in case I randomly am not here anymore. If I'm not, would it be out of place If I asked you if we could wait until later to finish off Victor? Arre 13:15, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

No problem at all. Hope you get well soon. Creativity97 20:53, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Thankyou. Looking over Victor, I think a lot more needs to be re-worded and a lot of references have to be tidied up. So I'll try and get that done. Also, I was thinking for the main Y&R article, readers generally want to see a few main cast member names in the info-box not just be sent to another article. I was thinking, we list the top ten longest or top five longest-running, and then "(see more)" under. Idk just a few thoughts. Info-boxes should have some info in each field. Arre 04:31, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Okay. And about the Y&R main page, from what I understand, there were a lot of disputes between IPs and other users about which actors to list in the info box, and listing a link to the cast members pages were a compromise. And there actually used to be a parameter in the infoboxes called "senior cast members", which isnt used anymore. I don't really want to reopen those disputes, and considering how most main soap pages just list a link to the cast members page, I don't really think that would be a good idea. Sorry. I understand where you're coming from by considering the general reader, though. On a different note, have you heard that Y&R is looking to bring back Tucker? Soap Opera Uncensored reported that they're looking to bring him back long term but Stephen Nichols isn't returning. Daytime Confidential is speculating Robert Newman (ex-Joshua Lewis, Guiding Light) as the recast. Creativity97 17:06, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Scratch that about Tucker, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Y&R was going to have Tucker return for Kay's funeral, but they've decided it would be too much to have yet another new face. I still think they should have Nichols return for the funeral don't you? Creativity97 17:32, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Hmm I know but that was when people were adding a large amount of actor names (or ones at random). still disagree. As Days of our Lives is, I think its best to list five or so (the longest running contract cast members only). It's an info-box. Yes I heard about Tucker, not really sure about what's going on here. Arre 04:42, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Maybe you're right, it would be best to list the five longest-running cast members. In Y&R's case, it would be Doug Davidson (1978), Melody Thomas Scott (1979), Eric Braeden (1980), Kate Linder (1982) and Beth Maitland (1982). But that also might be confusing to readers. I'm undecided. Creativity97 16:43, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Re: Victor and Diane's marriage.

Well, because the small bit of information was actually bothering me, I went and researched it. Through recaps, I confirmed that Victor and Diane married in August 1997. Victor obtained a divorced in April 1996, in some foreign country, I can't remember which one. Victor married Nikki again, but in June 1998, it was confirmed that his divorce from Diane wasn't legal. Brad Carlton, and Michael Baldwin I think convinced Diane to divorce Victor in exchange for shares in Newman Enterprises; that divorce was finally granted on February 16, 1999 by a judge. I can link the recaps if it will help.--Nk3play2 my buzz 01:33, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for that! At one point, the storylines in Diane's article said that their divorce was final in February 2000, when it was actually February 1999. That actually makes more sense; considering that Victor would've married Nikki on her deathbed around March 1998, they found out the divorce wasn't legal in June, and then a long divorce saga started and ended by February 1999. Again, thank you! Your research on that is well appreciated. And no, I don't think links to the recaps will be necessary. Creativity97 03:43, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

GA Review

I've conducted the GA review for Victor Newman, leaving detailed comments. Once they're addressed, I will return to pass/fail the article. Cheers, --Brick House 337 21:00, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Cane Ashby

Hello! Your submission of Cane Ashby at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. I'm sure I must be looking at the wrong thing here but I'm not seeing an expansion of Cane Ashby or the other linked articles for this DYK nomination? My apologies if I have this completely wrong, which wouldn't be unusual - me being wrong, I mean. SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:01, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

No, you're right, Cane Ashby was significantly expanded in February. I wasn't really sure how DYKs worked and only after I nominated it did another user tell me that DYKs have to be from articles recently expanded. Is there a way for me to withdraw this nomination? Creativity97 18:04, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Whew, thanks for such a prompt response - I was beginning to think my bad day was getting worse by me not seeing what was in front of me! If you want, the easiest way is for you as nominator to mark it with {{subst:DYKno}} and state you are withdrawing the nomination - someone will then come by and close it. Well done on the GA for it! SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:11, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! I did a lot of work on it. Actually, I would like to continue working on it and I started a peer review for it to see what else needs to be done on it. I'm not sure what type of articles you're into editing, but if you're interested, could you maybe contribute some opinions/comments? If not, that's okay too. Creativity97 20:18, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
I've just dropped a note and the 'no' template on the DYK nomination for you and removed the icon you placed at the top - my fault, I should have explained correctly, I think I must be having a "cheesy brain" day! I tend to lean towards historical or dog articles but find I enjoy reviewing quite an eclectic mix at DYK, but above all, I just like reading good articles and these do look interesting! I'll have more of a look at Cane Ashby tomorrow though..... SagaciousPhil - Chat 20:37, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Creativity97, I'm beginning the copy-edit of the above article you requested at the GOCE Requests page. Please feel free to contact me, or to correct or revert my edits if necessary. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 23:21, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much for taking the time to do this! Also, when you get to the "Relationships" section, can you please not remove any quotes or anything? I remember when you were copy-editing Victoria Newman you said what actors think is largely irrelevant text, which is very untrue, so I'd appreciate it. Thanks again! Creativity97 15:10, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
As you wish; but bear in mind that this is a Good Article and needs to comply with the GA criteria. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 22:27, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks so much for doing this! Also, I see that the GOCE stamp of completion wasn't placed on either this article's talk page or that of Victoria Newman. The article Cane Ashby was previously copyedited by another member of the GOCE and a stamp of completion was placed on its talk page. Just curious; not a big deal. Thanks again! Creativity97 20:31, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries; the {{GOCE}} template isn't compulsory; I don't use it because some readers think it means we monitor the article, which isn't the case. I've also had a few editors finding my through the template and asking for copy-edits directly—I used to accept these requests but no longer. I don't object if you wish to add it, but I don't bother adding it myself. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 23:24, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

No worries, I'm glad it was done nonetheless. Thank you very much for doing this! Creativity97 18:37, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey (some spoilers, sorry)

Hi C97! How are you? It's been a while. I was thinking, want to conom another article soon? What are you thinking of Y&R? Idk if you know this yet, but (SPOILER) Sharon apparently altered the test "results", meaning Summer is actually Nick's child (SPOILER). I'm really disappointed with this show at the moment, and I've decided to stop watching. Sharon, as u know is my fave character, is just being trashed beyond relief. Nick did a bad thing, but will ofcourse be forgiven. For 6 years Y&R viewers have wanted this storyline and they've screwed with it. It's just awful. I actually miss MAB's early writing, lol. Also, did you hear the spoiler about Phyllis' exit? It's truly awful & stupid. Arre 05:15, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

I am well, how are you? I had heard speculation about that awhile back, but I was hoping and praying it wasn't true. Josh Griffith never really rebuilt Sharon; all he did was diagnose her as bipolar (I would've preferred a brain tumor or something) to explain all that wacky stuff she did, and now, she's just the mentally ill girl who everyone feels sorry for. It's gotten way too repetitive with her scenes alone in her house, looking at pictures of her and Nick and saying, "This is when everyone was happy." Snore. Believe it or not, I find myself missing MAB's style of writing at times too. I really hope that spoiler isn't true, because it would make no sense whatsoever. And no I haven't heard any spoilers about Phyllis' exit and I don't wanna know! LOL. Speaking of co-noms, I was thinking of improving Lily Winters and Genevieve Atkinson to GA quality. I had already done quite a bit of work on Lily's article awhile back, but never really continued with it. Lily (much like Cane's article) needs a lot of ref work. Speaking of which, do you think you could help me with fixing the refs in Cane's article? Creativity97 04:21, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Tbh, I hope JFP/JG are fired. They've ruined the paternity storyline...which was meant to be amazing. I feel like JG only gave Sharon bipolar disorder to use it to blame anything on in the future. She's like the Genoa City scapegoat. I'm annoyed that they stopped Nikki's MS storyline, very rude. I know, Sharon is barely ever on & when she is it's just the same old shit. I know, that spoiler sounds so dumb. JG does not know how to build suspense (which is shocking, he used to write Y&R amazingly)....this Neil-stalker s/l is so damn boring. I'd be happy to take Genevieve Atkinson to GA with you, if that's your intentions. I'll see if I can try & help a bit with Cane's refs soon. Arre 07:50, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, Sharon is just as unstable as she was a year ago. The only difference is that there's this reason to why she's acting this way. I know bipolar, and that's not what it makes you do. And it's head-scratching to think that JG promised he would "rebuild" Sharon, and yet the storylines he writes for her are just as out of character as before. We saw a glimpse of the old Sharon awhile back, but since then, nothing. What we can learn from this is what head writers/executive producers promise viewers in interviews can be far from the truth (like when MAB promised to make Sharon "stronger".) They didn't really stop Nikki's MS storyline, there's just not a whole lot you can do other than show her getting treatment, which they have. Sometimes it baffles me that the powers that be kept crappy actors like Marco Dapper and Catherine Bach and dumped great actors like Jennifer Landon, Jeff Branson and Tricia Cast. We can do Genevieve's article together, all more I think it needs is little bit of an expansion in development (like maybe more on her romance with Jack, if we can find it), and the creation of a reception section. I can start on a reception section if you look for some development info? Creativity97 01:09, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
It's kinda funny that even SC thinks Sharon will be redeemed. Bipolar or not, this is just a new low; worse than what she did last year IMO. The character is done. Nikki still has MS but they don't even bother acknowledging much, I didn't know it was going to be on the front burner for such a short amount of time. MTS deserves a longer story, unlike people like Marco Dapper who have been front and center for most of the year. Iso agree! It's unfair they keep terrible actors & fire good ones. Yup I'll start looking for sources for Genevieve. Arre 09:09, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Personally, I now believe that JG saw MAB's destruction to Sharon's character as a storyline opportunity to make her continue to crazy things because she's "bipolar". That was probably his intention all along and he was just saying stuff to make fans happy. Anyway, I think we're gonna have to remove all the sources in Genevieve's storyline section, because I remember BrickHouse337 saying that sources are unneeded in storyline sections because watching the show is a good enough source. It won't really matter anyway because the removed sources can be compensated in the reception section that'll be created. Creativity97 20:54, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Yea, its true. Plus if JG really wanted to redeem Sharon he would have tidied up that BPD stuff months ago and allowed her to revert back to normal Sharon. Yea okay. I'll try & do some work on Genevieve tomorrow, if that's ok w/ u.Arre 15:30, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for doing some work on Genevieve. I just wanted to say that IMO, I kinda preferred the old image of Francis better. The new one is blurry a bit and I feel the old one represented the character better. Creativity97 18:33, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

yes. I'm so annoyed. The image is coming out blurry no matter what format I save it as, it's so annoying. On my PC however it's really good quality. But the old one wasn't good either, I just didn't like the image. I was just thinking. For some of the characters, there aren't actual good screen captures. I think that promo images could be used but only if the source says that it's them in character. Like this for example:[1] It says "Redaric Williams as Tyler Michaelson". But stuff like this [2] are unacceptable because it's just a picture of the actor. What's your opinion? Because if it's written in a solid source, then it's definitely acceptable to use IMO. But if it doesn't say that it's the actor as the character than definitely not. But I think the problem before when using promo images was people would edit it to make it decoratively fancy and enhance the quality, which is just unneeded.Arre 04:32, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
That's so annoying; when you find what you think is a great image and it doesn't end up working. Hmm, the idea with using promo images of actors "in character" isn't a bad idea, but I feel that we would have to post a message to all users somewhere explaining what you said about solid sources and stuff. Because I feel if we just start uploading images like that people will think we're going back to fancy photoshoot images, and replace all the secure screencaps which doesn't need to be done. But I get what you mean about there being no good screen captures for some characters; it can be very annoying. Anyway, how much more work do you think Genevieve needs? Will we be able to co-nom soon? Creativity97 15:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I think we should. I think Genevieve is pretty much good to go, but I just wanna go through all the refs first. Arre 01:36, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
In unrelated news. Did you see what happened to Phyllis in the day-ahead CDN episode? Smh. Arre 01:44, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
And I want to condense/rewrite some of Genevieve's storylines. I saw that episode, and Phyllis didn't even hit her head! How can she be unconscious if she didn't hit her head? She did a little tumble and roll, that's about it. Until now, I didn't even consider them killing off Phyllis. I guess Daniel will return next week to see his comatose mother. Creativity97 17:59, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
100% my thoughts. It didn't even look like she hit her head on the concrete at the bottom, her arms protected her head. And that fall was so weak. The writing was unoriginal (complete copy of the Drucilla death in 2007, where Phyllis tried to call Jack, Sharon tried to stop her, although this time Phyllis fell) and the filming location was just weird tbh. If Sharon could fall off a high cliff into a rocky and icy cold river and still be revived, I'd find it so unrealistic if Phyllis didn't survive this. So dumb. This show is just...ugh..Arre 08:58, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

This is for your consistently fine work where Y&R articles are concerned Also, for being such a great partner to me. We've gotten three articles to GA quality together and I'm looking forward to more.. It's so easy working with someone who gets it. Much love!, Arre 11:35, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Wow! Thank you so much! Means a lot. Creativity97 23:00, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

You're very welcome. BTW, what did you think about Phyllis' exit? Arre 04:16, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Was the August 2 episode her last appearance? Because I would've thought they would show Daniel putting her on a plane or something. It was okay. They are basically leaving the door wide open for the character to return, sending her away comatose and all. What did you think Creativity97 16:10, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
I know I was shocked too...I thought they would show in slow-motion, Phyllis' comatose body being wheeled out of the hospital with Jack, Avery etc following... u know? I think it was an okay exit but I still have no idea how that tiny roll down the stairs caused this much damage when Nick was in a burning plane crash and survived, Sharon fell off a cliff and survived, etc. JMO. Shows how soaps have really weakened in the fantasy-like aspect.Anyway this aside...have you seen The Stafford Project yet? Haha I think I'm gonna love the rest of it. BTW I have a proposal for you. I'm right now working on The Stafford Project article. Would you like to help out as well, so we can get DYK together in a couple days? Make sure to tell me before you start editing in case of edit warring. Arre 04:32, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

No I have not watched The Stafford Project yet. And in truth, I'm not really interested in working on its article. Sorry. Creativity97 18:57, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
