ClueBot NG Down (AGAIN)

Once again, ClueBot NG is down. Looks like we may as well have a "ClueBot NG 2" as a backup bot in case the first bot comes down again. K6ka (talk | contrib) 19:31, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

K6ka, it may be related to this: problems with the IRC recent changes feed.  —SMALLJIM  20:18, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
IRC's working, but ClueBot NG isn't. Huggle was able to access IRC just fine, so what's up with "The Best Bot on Wikipedia"? K6ka (talk | contrib) 02:06, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
The bot was up and running as soon as the IRC feeds came back, however no reverts where happening for 2 reasons - both with the same root case. Due to the lack of connectivity from tool labs to the database replicas and the en wiki API (both due to internal network issues) no edit data could be retrieved (for scoring) and even if scoring was working, no edits could be reverted (due to lack of API access). I don't really appreciate the yelling as having "ClueBot NG 2" (unless running outside of tool labs) would of made no difference. - Damian Zaremba (talkcontribs) 14:53, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
Sorry if I seemed rude - it's just that I'm frustrated that CBNG is down constantly, seeing that the bot is so well loved by so many Wikipedians, and is a revolutionary tool, to be honest. The idea of having a "ClueBot NG 2" fell out of the sky while I was sleeping. It was also partially inspired by the bots that maintain WP:AIV. Basically, there would be the main ClueBot NG, hosted on the Wikimedia Tool Labs server, and a ClueBot NG 2, running from an external server. The two would be designed like the HBC AIV helperbots, where they can both be running on Wikipedia and not duplicate work or collide with each other. If one bot stopped working for any reason, the other bot could keep running. This method is used on WP:AIV to ensure that the page is always properly serviced. So I just got this wild idea of doing the same thing here. K6ka (talk | contrib) 15:03, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
