A tag has been placed on Deeeep.io, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest and mainspace[edit]

I see that you have disclosed a conflict of interest, which is appreciated. However, please note that this means you must follow the rules for COI editors, including that, rather than directly writing a mainspace article, you must write a draft (such as at Draft:Deeeep.io), and request review by articles for creation, rather than directly creating the article yourself. Paid editors must refrain from directly editing articles, and must instead have suggestions reviewed by editors without a conflict of interest. In creation of a new article, a draft and AfC review is the way to do so. Seraphimblade Talk to me 00:26, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I'm not a paid user. My COI is due to the fact that I'm a moderator of the official game subreddit trying to do something nice for my community. Not sure if I should have disclosed it, you think I should still make a draft first? Dangelman (talk) 06:52, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thanks for clearing that up. In cases of COI besides being paid, disclosure and following the COI rules is encouraged rather than required (though in this case, it's a moot point as I've protected the page title due to several inappropriate creations, so it would have to be done first as a draft in that case). However, creating an appropriate new article is very difficult, and I'd certainly encourage any new user to use a draft rather than trying to get it right the first time in mainspace. In this case, you'd need quite a bit cleaned up. As an example, the photo caption for the logo was Eat fish, become the shark!. That's not appropriate. Generally, a logo wouldn't need a caption at all, but if it has any, it should simply be informational, such as "The site's logo". Any kind of "talking up" or "call to action" like that is not acceptable. Similarly, It's important to carefully choose the animal you should evolve into... (never use second person or address the reader), and there were several external links within the article text. In an article about a website, one link is permitted to the site, at the bottom of the article in an "External links" section. Similarly, the article referred to it as a "hit game among YouTubers". According to whom? We can't just editorialize like that in an article. It's very difficult to remain neutral when writing about a subject you're close to or interested in. Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:42, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply! By your suggestion I've created Draft:Deeeep.io. Eat fish, become the shark! is the slogan of the game but I see your point. I'll take your advice and fix the points you've brought up by using a more appropriate writing. As you've pointed out, there are three external links to Reddit as reference/source. Should I put them as citations? Dangelman (talk) 16:26, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You could put them as references if intended as such, but generally, Reddit would not be a reliable source. So maybe best to find a better one. Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:09, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Deeeep.io (January 11)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Zxcvbnm was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Lacks notability or significant mentions in reliable sources. Listicles are generally not considered enough if there is little else backing them up.
