DYK for Paris-Mondial[edit]

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Paris-Mondial), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. DYK nomination of Marcial Samaniego[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Marcial Samaniego at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! BlueMoonset (talk) 21:14, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DarjeelingTea, please expand slightly on Samaniego's military rank in the article. There's nowhere that states directly that he was a General, now when attained that rank, for example, and that's part of the hook that's just been promoted to prep—I think it's very possible that the nomination could run into trouble without that information. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:15, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
BlueMoonset thanks for the catch. I've added a source to confirm his general-officer rank. I don't, unfortunately, have a promotion date for him, though. Let me know if that's okay? DarjeelingTea (talk) 03:16, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ultimate comic reader deletion[edit]

Hi,

I am still new in Wikipedia, my first article was about an app called Ultimate Comic Reader.

I took the information about that app from it's page, and started editing it on Wikipedia to make it a general article not an ad.

However the article was deleted immediately before I even finished editing it.

I'd like to know what was wrong here? and what's the difference between an article about this app, and other articles about similar apps in Wikipedia.

Thanks. Tamer.baset (talk) 14:46, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tamer.baset; first of all, welcome to Wikipedia! Articles need to have sources. Secondly, WP generally tries to avoid effusive statements or "marketing-speak." You may want to try submitting it at WP:AFC which can help make sure it meets all the general criteria or give you specific guidance if it doesn't. As the article has been deleted I can't view it now to offer more than these general comments, unfortunately. DarjeelingTea (talk) 14:50, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know that the author (new user) removed your curation tags without addressing the problems. I am waiting for half an hour to go by so I can CSD it as a hoax. DO you think A7 would be better? L3X1 (distant write) 17:09, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aaron Sheehan 2009 Performance.ogv[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Aaron Sheehan 2009 Performance.ogv. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:17, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

April 2017[edit]

question[edit]

Hi Bbb23 - I'm definitely not a sockpuppet. I was hoping to ping you, though, to see if it's possible the block was made in error? Thanks and sorry if something I did created confusion. DarjeelingTea (talk) 17:28, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The block is correct.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:33, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bbb23 - thank you very much for your fast reply. Would it be possible to obtain some more information about the block with which I might be able to offer an appeal? Thank you and sorry for the hassle. DarjeelingTea (talk) 18:02, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You should already know what this is about, but I'll play along. Look at your userpage.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:19, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bbb23, sorry if I did a poor job of explaining. I realize this is a sock block and am aware of the other account to which you've connected me. I was wondering if you could provide more information about the nature of that connection? This is not an editor with whom I'm familiar and, without access to a general description of the nature of the connection, I can't really offer much in the way of an appeal other than to simply declare it's not me. Thank you. DarjeelingTea (talk) 18:32, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Other accounts plural. I have nothing more to say at this point.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:35, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Thanks for your consideration of my appeal in any case. DarjeelingTea (talk) 18:40, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
