Thank you! :)

Thank you so much for commenting on my editor review. I really appreciate your kind words and your suggestions. :) Thank you!!! Srose (talk) 18:48, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the smile!!! I see you even made a nice things page - that's a good idea; I may have to steal it! ;) Your response to my editor review was no "small thing"; it's truly appreciated: you didn't have to take time out of your wikiday to let me know what I can improve on and what I'm doing right!! I expected to get no responses; most people get only one or two anyway. I'd also like to let you know that your statements on my talk page made me blush! :) It's nice to feel so appreciated. Have a great day (night?)!! --Srose (talk) 02:10, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank ye kindly, oh wise Wang. I shall take your thoughts into consideration. Shouldn't you be studying? :) Sad about your final exam being on your birthday, my biology exam was on mine this year. So I spent more time thinking about the piss-up than recessive alleles. Bad idea. See ya round, and good luck with them exams! riana_dzastatceER • 01:53, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another late night editor, I see xD Yes, there was a point when I voted on quite a few AfDs and tagged a number of articles for SD. Perhaps I should start that up again. Anyway, I'm off to a lecture, hope to see you around! riana_dzastatceER • 02:11, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A smile for you...

Yes, I thank you as well. I was not expecting such a positive review. Do you think I should run for adminship? --Chris Griswold 05:36, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I respect your right to lable my page (Michael Prusi) as in need of that Wiki-thing, but I was just wondering what you want me to do to fix it.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Chflitwick (talkcontribs) 22:43, 9 August 2006

Thank you for your comments on my editor review page. I appreciate them greatly and will follow your advice. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to become a better Wikipedian. Thanks again and happy editing! Wikipediarules2221 18:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your editor review RandyWang! I really appreciate it. :)  QuizQuick  03:33, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • So, just for kicks, if I were to run for admin today (I know I probably won't get 75% of the votes), but what do you think my vote count would be like? Thanks. [1]  QuizQuick  18:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Hey Randy, just a quick note to let you know I withdrew my RfA at 13/11/10. I appreciate your neutral !vote. Good luck with the rest of your HSC trials :) --james(talk) 12:03, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm sorry your RfA reached the point of WP:SNOW, but I really hope you're able to address peoples' concerns (and hell, mine too) without too much hassle. It's very good to see you so willing to address those comments, though, so I hope your next RfA will reflect that enthusiasm. Good luck! :) RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 12:20, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

To RandyWang for doing the little things that make articles better. We all appreciate it -- Samir धर्म 02:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well deserved. Thanks for all the article tagging, stub sorting and article tweaks that many of us overlook. It's really appreciated. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 02:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was not an experiment, it is a genuine sex act, well practiced here in the United Kingdom, to be honest i am rather surprised there is not an article about it already. Liptonicetea 02:48, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Goldom's RFA thanks

Thank you for your support on my RFA, which closed successfully this morning with a result of (53/2/1). I've spent the day trying out the new tools, and trying not to mess things up too badly :). I was quite thrilled with all the support, both from the people I see around every day, as well as many users who I didn't know from before, yet wrote such wonderful things about me. I look forward to helping to serve all of you, and the project. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. -Goldom ‽‽‽ 04:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RandyWang, thanks for signing up for the Esperanza User Page Contest. The judges have received the fifteen entries, and are ready to start judging. The judges will take a week to complete the judging process, and they will contact all the participants when the judging is done.

awwww!

What a top fella you are. If I wasn't quite so brown, I'd be blushing right now xD Thank you for my first barnstar, my mummy will be so proud. Big cheesy grin, and a hug. I'm glad you appreciated my userpage – oh, and good luck with your own userpage award nom! They're all very good candidates, I'm not sure who to root for! Well, I should get out of here now. Ta muchly, riana_dzastatceER • 09:11, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, you even nicked code from me! That is flattering. Even though I got it from somewhere else in the first place. Still, I'll pretend it's mine for now. riana_dzastatceER • 09:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, didn't read on that far. Shame! Still, there's always next time. It didn't suck before... it was just kinda... um... *runs away* It's very fancy now, though, I love the 'Nice things' section. riana_dzastatceER • 09:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What – things like this? riana_dzastatceER • 09:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now that would be classy. Of course, you may send some people into seizure... but the ends justify the means in this situation, methinks. riana_dzastatceER • 09:59, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Discomfort? Tragedy? Lawsuit? These are all titles of Wikipedia articles. riana_dzastatceER • 10:07, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Errr... if by that you mean 'I hope they enjoy it when their eyeballs explode. What a fun way to go out!' riana_dzastatceER • 10:14, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed... they'd probably be halfway to Paradise already. This may be the worst idea ever I think a tile effect wouldn't be very discreet, though. We must stop discussing this before we actually start thinking it's a good idea What about a nice checkerboard effect? Computer says no Or maybe stripes... riana_dzastatceER • 10:25, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, MySpace was exactly what I was thinking about when I made the suggestion. Truly, the sophistication of the average MySpace profile is something yet to be captured on Wikipedia. The colours... the textures... the subtle play of colour and shimmer... MySpace: A place to listen to the stirring symphony of a million retinal blood vessels bursting. Er, not as catchy, but much more accurate. riana_dzastatceER • 10:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That link you sent was fantastic xD But don't you want to go for RfA soon? I rather think asploding half the Wikipedians' eyes would count for at least one or two oppose votes. Never you mind! <disclaimer:joke>I shall create a legion of sockpuppets and indulge in some serious vote stacking.</disclaimer:joke> riana_dzastatceER • 11:03, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find myself speechless in the face of your twisted logic. So let's see... for support votes we have

  • Users who have avoided your userpage, and are merely judging you by your contributions (fools!).
  • Users who have visited your userpage, whose eyes are made of hard leathery stuff, and are here to sing your praises for allowing them a glimpse of your sparkling, shimmering soul.
  • Me (I'm going to avoid your userpage from now on, mind).
  • Oh, and let's not forget your adoring socks.

Yeah, I like your chances. riana_dzastatceER • 11:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"... in order to uphold the integrity of something-or-other" – always good to see someone who really believes in the project ;) "People who don't appear to hate me" is a bit of an emo-sounding category, though. We don't want emo, we want sparkles and fizz and headaches! [And soon enough - People who viewed my userpage, and lived to tell the tale]. But I am flattered by my inclusion in that section. [oh, I don't appear to hate you... mwahahahaha... but all the while I am plotting to insidiously bring about your Wikidownfall] riana_dzastatceER • 11:51, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
AAAAARGH!!!

Eeep! Didn't realise it was so obvious... riana_dzastatceER • 12:04, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

*sniffle* I'll try to change... ta for the heads-up... will keep it in mind when I'm off to explain why I didn't finish my Biology assignment, and spent all my time on Wiipedia. Yeurgh, wish you could put a block on yourself around here. This place is destructively addictive. riana_dzastatceER • 12:19, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And then... reveal them the moment before I pounce... *snicker* Oh, I feel guilty about engaging you in userful, project-building pointless discussion for so long, now that you've reminded me about your exams. I'll stop rambling now – anyhoo, it's late-ish and the assignment was due last night-ish, so I should probably get out of here and get a start on it :p
Well, this was nice – we have bonded over our common love of sparkly kittens, and that can only be a good thing. You seem like the sort of idiot I would hang out with in real life ;) I'm off to go bore myself silly with sordid details about avian influenza. Ah, livin' the dream!
Hope to see you around, riana_dzastatceER • 12:37, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shooting for a laughpoint, eh? Nah, I honestly do believe that. I mean, all I do around here is welcome users, disambiguate links and do spell checks. But if there's a barnstar out there – bring it! :p riana_dzastatceER • 13:48, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My god, that's brilliant – the things people around here think of! I think I'll use it. OK, now there's no excuse for me not to finish that damn report off... Thanks very much for directing me to that! Good luck with the rest of your exams. Take care, riana_dzastatceER • 14:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, ta! Once again, trying to blush but failing. Yeah, should only be for about a week. See you on the 18th... probably around 4:30 in the arvo, your time :) riana_dzastatceER • 14:39, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Editor review

Hi, Randy - I was wondering if you could post an updated count on my review? I think it's changed positively and I'd like to give reviewers an update (to show what I've improved on in the past week), but my computer's just too weak to download Java 5.0 for the tool you used. I'd be very grateful if you could help me out with this! :) Have a great day! Srose (talk) 15:30, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks a lot for the suggestions and for updating the count (I'm pleased to see the edits have begun to even out) - I really do need a new computer. This one has almost no memory and it's an absolute dinosaur - a Windows 98 (no XP, no Office, no Firefox - that would just crash it). It frequently gives me rather invalid "illegal operation" messages, too. But my only other "working" computer is a Microsoft 3.0 - we're saving that one for the museum. ;) Thanks again!Srose (talk) 01:49, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CVG project and Driving Simulator page

I've noted on the talk page for the Driving Simulator entry that it might be a good time to seperate the article into one for gaming and one for research. Let me know what you think. --Cassavau 15:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Have a lecture right now... I'll be back around 6:30 your time, and we shall have a good long bitch about it. Glad to hear they weren't too hard on ya, though. riana_dzastatceER • 07:01, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alrighty now! Tell us everything. You're doing an interesting mix, aren't you? Physics and History? What's the go? riana_dzastatceER • 09:13, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ack, got into "gaming's best toilets" *shakes head ruefully* "In the day"?! Ahhh, it's barely been 10 months since my HSC! I haven't done anything particularly 'weird' since Year 10, when I got a really good science teacher who woke up a burning love for science in me :) Last year I did Physics, Chemistry, English (whatever they call the hard one in ACT Dx), Maths and... more Maths! Used to be a big History, Linguistics-type person, but... yeah, Year 10 happened :) I don't regret it now, but I wonder what mighta been. Hmmm. Bah, this has been an busy Wikiday for me, tagged my first blatant {{db-bio}}, ran into a copyright crusader, and, er, tried to avoid a biased opinion on that Omar Shaick AfD :) riana_dzastatceER • 10:10, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Universities seem to be fairly good places for cult recruiting (they call them 'clubs', but I know better now... heard that punch was good, though). I spent some time to day having a look at WP:PR and WP:FAC – God, didn't realise people were this rough when reviewing those things. Also read with a great deal of mystification the strange case of the fella who went for RfA 3 times under one account and twice under another, or something like that, and opposed the other account. There are lots of very nice people here... but there seem to be an even sprinkling of weirdos, too... riana_dzastatceER • 10:41, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, don't give up! You need more sparkly screenshots though argh, not sparkles again, I hear you say. And references, apparently. Currently Noel Gallagher is up at FAC, something I would really like to see reach featured – I've only ever done some copyediting on it, but I feel a curious attachment to it. *cough* pathetic *cough* I think, though, that the editor who contributed the most heavily has a sort of dry sarcasm that doesn't translate very well over the Internet, and people tend to think he's acting like... well, a prick. I suspect that anyone who may have voted to support it has been burned by his, er, unusual brand of humour. But I don't think it's too far off, right now. riana_dzastatceER • 10:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, touché. Oops, seems I have an internet quiz of some sort due by midnight – errr, I'll talk to you later, is that cool? Good luck with the article, though – I can imagine it would be harder to find references for something like that than a super-opinionated celebrity with half a million interviews floating around on the net :p riana_dzastatceER • 11:13, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Doom 3 external links

Thanks for taking the time to go through the external links in Doom 3. I've readded several of the links, as I think they're particularly useful. The Doom cheat codes were fairly famous in previous iterations, and I think it would be a nice bit of a parallel to show the codes for this iteration. PlanetDoom I readded because it seems to be a fairly respected and very popular Doom portal, and apparently has been around for a very long time. I readded doomwadstation as it seems to be a fairly popular source for such things; I'm not entirely sure about keeping it in the external links, but I felt it best to keep it when in doubt. Do you have any thoughts on this? Captainktainer * Talk 14:25, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll gladly keep an eye out on the article. My goal is, over the next month, to get it rated as being at least a B-grade article; eventually it would be nice to have it selected as a Good Article. I'm still thinking about doomwadstation, and if a better link comes along I'll scrap it in favor of the new one. Captainktainer * Talk 21:28, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Masssiveego and RFA voting

I've have noticed your message..

I will second MONGO on this: I see little, if anything, constructive coming out of your votes, and your repeated opposition to new candidates without proper explanation leads me to believe that you're deliberately disrupting the RfA process. Please stop. Consider explaining your votes in detail, providing links to the URLs to specific diffs that you believe illustrate your point, and suggesting briefly how the candidate needs to improve. RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 13:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More or less, there was proper explanation. Please do note I cannot be forced at the threat of blocking, to explain my votes. Admin are not allowed to influence the vote by blocking out voters. --Masssiveego 18:13, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
