It's time you had this token recognition of your diligent and tireless editing. Be sure to keep your award updated as you reach new milestones, per WP:SVC—next one at 12,000 edits. Congratulations and all the best, Hertz1888 (talk) 03:16, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Your recent report to WP:ANI

After further thought, I decided to go ahead and block the vandal, but be sure to leave warnings in the future. Thanks for the report. Cheers —DoRD (talk) 20:31, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

It wasn't me who saw the vandalism. I just saw the pattern. - Denimadept (talk) 20:35, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

1895ish picture of Harvard Bridge

If this is really from around 1895, it's in the public domain. Is there anything keeping us from putting it in Commons? I've already downloaded the full size copy. - Denimadept (talk) 18:42, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

It's unclear to me whether the BPL has any copyright over the image because they digitized it; it's not like we're scanning the original ourselves. Perhaps someone at the Wikimedia Foundation can give an official legal opinion? -- Beland (talk) 19:44, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
That's a good point. It's a rendering of the original picture. I wonder if we can "borrow" the original image. - Denimadept (talk) 19:46, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Stone Bridge

Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated. Some of my last message did not go through. reference 1. title "Bus and Truck Traffic Is Barred From Stone Bridge, Tiverton" reference 4. date in article should be March 3, 1955 Fall River Herald News March 4, 1955 p.1 title "Trucks Crossing Stone Bridge" change of date in article and in reference 4. reference 5. was already there in History — Preceding unsigned comment added by TivHistorians (talkcontribs) 00:50, 16 June 2012 (UTC) (TivHistorians (talk) 02:02, 16 June 2012 (UTC))

Okay, how's that? - Denimadept (talk) 16:30, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Stone Bridge

 Article
Bridge reopened to all traffic on March 3, 1955
 Reference (4)
     Date is March 4, 1955
Both dates need changing. Sorry my error on the reference date.
Thought you may like to know that the new Sakonnet River Bridge will have tolls.
Please get in touch with us if ever you are in this area.
We owe you at least a cup of coffee.
 Many thanks again.

Beginning of the Hudson for List of fixed crossings of the Hudson River

From Hudson River,

The river itself officially begins in Henderson Lake in Newcomb, New York.

In order to list the crossings of the Hudson, one has to follow the watercourse designated the Hudson. Going upstream, this leads to and ends at Henderson Lake. The highest source, Lake Tear of the Clouds, feeds into the Hudson via a tributary, the Opalescent River, which connects to the Hudson some miles below its beginning. The highest source is not the beginning of the designated watercourse.

If you agree, please restore my last edit to List of fixed crossings of the Hudson River. --Cstaffa (talk) 04:13, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Check out, as I said in my comment, Hudson River. It says the source is Lake Tear of the Clouds. - Denimadept (talk) 04:29, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I see that. I'm arguing that that highest source is not relevant here. What is relevant is the river's beginning, which is what my edit addressed. Please consider the argument. --Cstaffa (talk) 10:53, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
I am moving this exchange to the article's talk page. --Cstaffa (talk) 11:04, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
I am sorry for all the editing turmoil. The Hudson is just one of those bodies of Water with no clear cut source. I do believe it either begins directly at Henderson Lake or at the confluence just past it. I have been using Henderson Lake as the source because it seems like a more likely location (there is a dam on the outlet which normally indicates a river),and although Maps are not always authoritative sources and may produce different results, The ones I use show it and photos on Google Maps show it too. Authoritative sources such as the geo one are good, but they can also show different results to varying degrees. If I have caused you any trouble with editing, I am not vandalizing I mean well and I truly believe that the river begins at Henderson Lake This is not just Maps and Blogs. Please do not block me simply for disagreeing on editing.Miked1992 (talk) 19:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC)Mike DeNicolaMiked1992 (talk) 19:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC) --Miked1992 (Miked1992) 19:26, 14 July 2014
For future reference, you might want to use the Talk page of any article where such editing fireworks appear. It's not really a big deal, but to keep the peace, it's best to talk it out. - Denimadept (talk) 19:34, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

I'm just checking it. One source says it's a US route, but Google says it's a PA route. I'm going with Google. -- BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 02:27, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Article Feedback

I agree, the database stats in WP:About are woefully out-of-date....would WP:Database reports or WP:Size of Wikipedia help? Shearonink (talk) 18:40, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

I'm looking for the current size of the download if I were to download the database. I seem to remember that's possible, but I don't remember where. Anyway, I don't want to do so, but rather to mention it in a discussion I'm involved with. - Denimadept (talk) 18:49, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
