Tagging of Xtreme Jailbreak

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Xtreme Jailbreak. I do not think that Xtreme Jailbreak fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because "One of the biggest" may not establish notability but for a speedy the bar is lower, "any credible claim of significance". Take to AfD if you think this doesn't belong. Ther there is a chance to review and discuss the amtter.. John Greed

Hiya Discospinster, just letting you know that I've contested the prod template you added to John Greed, the reason I did this is because there are actually two independent and reliable sources: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/c/shopping/r/john-greed-design/41537/ and the press release. I think you must have missed the moneysupermarket.com source when you tagged the article as in your prod summary you said there was only the company's web site and press release.
If you decide to go on to a AfD I'd appreciate it if you could discuss the matter with me first, but don't feel obliged to.

hmm, okay, there's also http://www.pressport.dk/pressroom/johngreeddesign/ and http://www.xomreviews.com/johngreeddesign.co.uk (www.xomreviews.com is verging on trivial coverage) I also found http://www.plimsoll.co.uk/industry-report.aspx?Industry=jewellery they're a organization that offers industry reports on the largest 1010 UK companies in the jewelry industry. If you look at http://www.plimsoll.co.uk/companies-in-report.aspx?Industry=jewellery&rt=ppa&Letter=J you can see that John Greed is included in the report, however, it costs £350 ($550), so I'm not exactly inclined to look at it!
Is this enough? I can probably find some more

PCAtruth response to discospinster

I won't make any more edits or additions to the Peoples Christian Academy article. All I did originally was make changes to correct factual errors which you apparently missed. There are still factual errors in the article which I'll leave as I have a job and a life outside of Wikipedia. Perhaps you'd care to research ALL of the content for errors and omissions. This school is about to collapse due to missing or misleading info being disseminated from the current board to the stakeholders. Prior to my edits, the Wikipedia article provided wrong or limited factual information and so I suspect that you too are far from neutral as you did not seem to be bothered by this.

I certainly had an agenda. My agenda was to disseminate truth and fact. I thought that was in line with Wikipedia. I am close to the situation and my heart is breaking as I watch a great institution with a very promising future dissolve in front of me.

The article now fails to provide a complete and truthful picture for the benefit of current stakeholders and prospective students and benefactors.

Which article are you referring to? Do you mean 4Digital Media? If so, the reasons for its deletion are as follows: the first time, the article was written with a promotional tone, as if the subject was being advertised; the second time, you removed all the text, which usually indicates that you want it deleted; the third time, the article did not indicate how the subject was notable by Wikipedia's standards.
If you want to work on the article without fear that it will be deleted before you are finished, you should start it as a subpage in your user space (e.g. at User:Ariaspr/4Digital Media) and once it is ready you can move it into the regular article space. Please keep in mind that the article must indicate with reliable sources how the company is notable.

Never mind, I found the article in question: Myers Park Hoofprint. It was deleted almost two years ago. At the time, all it said was "The Myers Park Hoofprint is a nationally acclaimed high school newspaper, currently under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Andy Thomason and advisor James Scott." There were no sources attesting to its Golden Quill wins, or that it has been mentioned in other newspapers, or any other indication of notability. I'm wondering what, exactly, drew your attention to the The Haverford School's page and, in particular, to the entry for Nicholas Devine under Notable Alumni. The article was on my watchlist due to prior vandalism. The entry for Nick Devine does not indicate why he should be included in the section "Notable alumni". It is not clear what "League champion" refers to. Is it the chess league? The football league? The League of Women Voters? Yes, The League does numerous charitable activities, is recognized throughout the country by having members in California, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware. League members will soon be in Connecticut and Massachusetts as well. Additionally, it hosts several events for members throughout the year, most notably its Winter Meetings. I'd be more than happy to send you over The League's bylaws as well as other official documents to validate the significance of this organization. You have to understand that what is significant at a local level is not necessarily notable for Wikipedia's purposes. You still have not explained what this league is and how one becomes a "champion" of it. All that I can gather is that it's an organization with members and it has meetings and does charitable activities. There are thousands of those, not to mention thousands of members of such organizations who have won some internal award or another. It is difficult for an outsider to comprehend what it means to become a "champion," as this fact has even eluded over half of the league's members. The champs guild (the exclusive group of people that have named champion twice) maintains that it takes a 'special kind of person to become a champion and, not having been fortunate enough myself to fully comprehend its meaning, cannot speak to 'what it means' to be a champion, yet someday I hope that I will be blessed enough so that I have the ability to describe it to you in great detail. I would be more than happy to have the by-laws committee chairman send over the the by-laws or perhaps you would like to speak with the commissioner emeritus or the winter meetings chairman or union chairman.

If you want to mention "The League" as being of importance within the school, you can add that as a fact to the article. But it doesn't mean that those persons associated with it (even if they are "champions") are considered notable by Wikipedia's standards. Also remember that if you write about The League in the Haverford School article, it must be in a serious tone and not in the manner of an "inside joke". The prior vandalism was blatant and did not require one to read through the article in order to determine that it did not belong there. I eventually read through the article and noticed that the Nick Devine entry linked to a person other than the one that was being described. Hi im Michael Brehaut the man behind brehautism i know that you may think that this religion may be a hoax but i do not see how you can delete my page because that is what i believe in. Yes i know the aspects behind the religion are silly but there are actual moral values behind the idea just as there are behind other religions. Furthermore it's my job as an arthistorian to write biographies (for the British Art Journal and the National Portrait Gallery London) and to research them BEFORE I write anything. If you look at my article about Henry Raeburn Dobson, or my article about Ghislaine de Menten de Horne, you can't say they are NOT sourced. Phi Gamma Delta

Referencing the Greek letter of Phi Gamma Delta is contradictory to other information on that page. You can't say that the letters only appear on 7 things and then put the letters on the Wikipedia page. That would make it 8. I've read that Wikipedia placed an image of the flag instead of typing out the letters. Why was that changed? It seems that everyone except you random people, who clearly don't know anything about this Fraternity, were perfectly content with having the image of the flag. Regarding the repeated editing of article: Phi Gamma Delta

The reason for numerous edits of the page Phi Gamma Delta is due to the fact that the fraternity does not refer to itself by the Greek letters, considering this, writing the Greek letters on the page is spreading misinformation. A more accurate representation of the letters would simply be "FIJI" as this is what the fraternity is referred to as by its governing party.

The issue here is not the censorship of Wikipedia, but rather the spreading of false information about the fraternity Phi Gamma Delta. As Wikipedia is committed to delivering factual information the page should state "FIJI" as its letters.

Please reference Phi Gamma Delta's international website to see that the stated information appears no where on the organization's official site and therefore cannot be verified. The website is: phigam.org

Firstly, this has been discussed ad nauseam on the Phi Gamma Delta talk page. The consensus is to include the letters (not a "flag") to keep the article in line with the other fraternity articles. Other fraternity articles display the letters that are worn on lettered shirts, such as is tradition for many fraternities and sororities. Such being the case, the information on the wikipedia article is still incorrect. The letters should instead read "FIJI" or "Phi Gam"

The images found on the phigam.org website are images and depict items that the letters may be written on (per the article). Were an image placed on the page it would resolve this issue and not be contradiction of the factual information written on the page. The article also states that the fraternity limits the display of the letters by members ("In accordance with the fraternity's international bylaws, Fiji chapters and members only portray their letters in the following seven locations..."). Yes, I know; after all I am an art historian for already 35 years and published many articles about artists in different languages. I do NOT compromise, even if what I write doesn't always please the family of the artist or the artist him/herself. To reference modern living artists is sometimes difficult, because one has to rely on newspaper articles, magazines, gallery leaflets, and testimonies of the artist herself. And newspaper articles are not always to be trusted. Therefore we use comparative research documentation, were one document is critically compared with other sources. One more question, because I get lost in the copyright issues. When I write an article about a living artist and she/he takes photographs of her/his own work + gives the authorisation to publish these photographs on Wikipedia, 1. can I upload these pictures and 2. where do I store the authorisation by the artist ? It must be verifiable that she/he gives her/his consent in order not to get any lawsuites afterwards....With the article about Ghislaine de Menten de Horne I couldn't publish any photographs of her work, because she might have heirs, who could claim a lawsuite against Wikipedia for infringement of copyright (even when I took all the photographs myself). A question : GHe got some 'Fellowships" and generellay I see that in Canada they categorise them as "Awards". But, being a "Fellow" of "a Club" is strictly seen NOT an AWARD. If you get a Golden Globe, THAT is an AWARD. In my opinion a Fellowhip is a membership of a "club" (even if it is at the great "Académie Française"). Where can I mention Fellowhips ? CYBERKILL

The importance of CYBERKILL it is the first title wherein transmedia is being applied to a story by a book publisher. Typically, these endeavors have been limited to motion pictures being extended into other media forms (i.e., alternate reality games) by Hollywood. With the barrier to entry being lowered by budget video, Flash games, and the like, it is possible for book publishers to introduce an extended experience around individual titles. As the first attempt, this should meet the criteria of notable.

This is a very new concept and the alternate reality game launches next week, so I'm not surprised that the number of web hits on this topic is minimal. Has disruptive behavior by the series of IPs related to Philipine Cable channels reached the point of requesting a rangeblock?

You recently reverted an IP for inappropriate removal of maintanance tags on Royal Cable‎ and a couple of other articles. While the initial personal attacks appear to have been toned down, ([2] and [3] for example) has the continued disruption across multiple articles by multiple IP addresses in the same small range (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Active_Banana#List_of_IPs_involved_in_this_discussion.2Fset_of_edits) reached the point that a request for a range block is in order, or do we hope that now that you are the third editor that has weighed in on the situation the IP editor might "get it" and begin editing appropriately? You deleted my edit to the CARP page. The Fcat is that "las Gallinas" is a valid nickname for Club Atletico River Plate. Although it originated as a slur by rival fans it has come to be an accepted term for CARP. In fact, this nickname is even included on the "nicknames" section of the wikipedia article. I assume you are referring to this edit? The page in question is a "disambiguation" page, meaning it directs readers to other related articles. The text that you added was not useful for directing readers to the appropriate article. Furthermore, large parts of it were copied from other web pages, which raises copyright concerns.
