A tag has been placed on Patrick Tingley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as a notable baseball player.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Bgs022 | Comments? 06:37, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dnl.briseno

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Troy Stone (Musician), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

I added 2 sources. Thanks! Dnl.briseno (talk) 23:27, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of those sources are acceptable as they're unreliable. Wikiwand is just an interface website for Wikipedia which is a self-published source, and as such is citing Wikipedia itself, and Discogs is user-generated content. Wikipedia requires high-quality sources for biographies of living persons, and user-generated content and self-published sources are considered to be extremely poor quality. I've tried searching for better sources but there appears to be none CiphriusKane (talk) 23:42, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've added 3 more sources. Thanks! Dnl.briseno (talk) 02:08, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
None of those sources are good either. We're needing sources that discuss Stone as a person/musician, and those three just confirm Stone was a member of the band. Notability is established by what secondary independent sources say about the subject, and database entries are insufficient to meet this CiphriusKane (talk) 10:31, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Troy Stone (musician) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Troy Stone (musician), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:53, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of references do I need then? What needs to be verified through references? I mean the CD that was recorded and released by Whitecross proves he is a drummer and recording artist... Dnl.briseno (talk) 19:32, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources that provide indepth discussion of the subject, in this case indepth discussion of Troy Stone as a person. Mere namedrops and credit listings are insufficient to contribute to notability. To give an example of what would count, this article provides notability to Darryl Jones. I'd advise reading WP:NMUSIC and WP:GNG to read on the notability criteria CiphriusKane (talk) 20:48, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Paris Sluggers[edit]

Hello Dnl.briseno,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Paris Sluggers for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello, Dnl.briseno,
I recommend moving your articles to Draft space where you can work on improving them and they are unlikely to get tagged for deletion. If these pages do get deleted, maybe you can request their restoration and move to Draft space at WP:REFUND. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 23:06, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Liz has a good suggestion. I will be happy to move the pages for you, if you like. —C.Fred (talk) 23:11, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think I did. I appreciate that! Could you make sure I did it right? Thanks! Dnl.briseno (talk) 23:13, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I cleaned up the residual redirects. There should not be a redirect from the main encyclopedia to Draft: space. —C.Fred (talk) 23:16, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
