World War One in Oxford

Thank you for your work on RAMC general hospitals in the First World War, which explains the context of the 3rd Southern General Hospital in Oxford. Hi - The Crichton was a hospital for 175 years and only became a university and business park a few years ago. The infobox is a "hospital infobox" and does include key information from when it was a hospital. This is only logical in that the vast amount of its history relates to its time as a hospital. Admiral Sir Charles Ogle - portrait bequeathed to him by General Sir Charles Asgill

Hello Dormskirk. For some considerable time I have been trying to locate a portrait, painted in 1822, and bequeathed the following year to Admiral Sir Charles Ogle in perpetuity. I have looked for this in portrait galleries around the world and Yale is currently trying to find it too. I've put ads in papers asking for information and even engaged art detectives to try to find it! On the offchance you might know anything about what happened to this portrait, and more especially its current whereabouts, I would be extremely grateful to you if you could give me some information. It has been suggested to me that it perished in a fire in Hampshire about a hundred years ago, which of course is quite possible. Thank you for your reply Dormskirk. Lieutenant Colonel James Gordon of the 80th Regiment of Foot (Royal Edinburgh Volunteers) was the hero of The Asgill Affair (as Asgill acknowledges in his letter of 1786). Not only did he offer to go to the gallows in Asgill’s stead; lay a detailed plan (with the help of several ladies in Summit, New Jersey and no doubt beyond – I fancy they were going to portray themselves as laundrywomen and bundle Asgill into a basket!) to ‘spirit Asgill away’ to escape execution (which, when it happened, Asgill refused to go along with) but the whole six month affair was the beginning of the end for him and he became increasingly ill during the course of the following year. It had pained him so greatly so see such a popular young man have his life sacrificed. He eventually died of dropsy in October 1783 at the Morris House in Upper Manhattan. The Source for all this information is General Washington’s Dilemma, by Katherine Mayo, published in 1938 and The History of Chatham, New Jersey by Ambrose E. Vanderpoel. Their source was, amongst others, the account of these events given by Samuel Graham, one of the 13 officers who drew their names out of a hat to go to the gallows. These books, each with a bit more than the other, are listed in Further Reading on the Asgill page.

I am unable to create a page for James Gordon, but I very much hope that you might be prepared to do so? It may be too late already since poor Gordon is really the forgotten hero – and has been so for far too long. But would you be prepared to give it a go? This is important and I don't know how to do this since there are no Army Lists near to where I live (or even in my county it would seem). You certainly have been helpful Dormskirk, thank you again. Finally the coat of arms issues are sorted and I hope it will not be long before it is on the Asgill page. When it is, is it possible that you would please add the English translation of his family motto - which is "Regardless of his own interest"? That was how he lived his life. I have one more paragraph to add to Asgill's page, once I hear back from Edinburgh with a reference. After the December journal is published, with revelatory information, I shall take the opportunity to add more to the James Gordon page, which, sadly, doesn't look as though it will be doing very well. I hope it will not be deleted before I have a chance to add more? Then, once Trinity has erected the marker to him in thier churchyard, after languishing in an unmarked grave for 236 years, I will put up a link to that too. I have had a very difficult and stressful time on Wikipedia, and not enjoyed it one bit. My lack of IT skills are to some extent to blame, but I know, even if others do not, that I make up for these deficiencies in many other ways! The above post made me cry since it was the only nice post I’ve received since 2007. Nothing improved though. Far from it, it got worse. It wasn’t long before I was being threatened with permanent - instant – without warning - banning – because I am an old woman of 75 with very inadequate IT skills. So - banning on ageist grounds. I was also snapped at and given orders – all of which I obeyed to the letter. The worst cruelty of all though was being ghosted – day after day after day. Since August’s cull I’ve had no choice but to be here day after day, desperately trying to rebuild my Asgill page against all the odds. This vile, vindictive and bullying environment has brought me to my knees and I am now a gibbering nervous wreck (definition: speaking rapidly and unintelligibly, typically through fear or shock), feeling ill and unable to sleep. I have also now been inexcusably insulted by being called a liar, since I was forced to go over to Wikipedia Media. Dormskirk and Cordless Larry have both tried to alleviate my stress, and for this I am grateful. I would now plead with both of them to get my three edits done today. I leave tonight and would have greater peace of mind when I have gone if my work was finished. I shall be posting a fuller account on my talk page, as I have been ordered to do, which hardly seems appropriate since all the edits are on the Asgill talk page. Thanks for your efforts. Arbil44's COI Complaint

I am posting this on Dormskirk’s talk page because this member has shown kindness, compassion and help towards me (another member) who has now had a nervous breakdown. They may not be able to help me themselves, but I do believe, once this has been read, that they may know what to do. This is a serious complaint against Wikipedia as whole – as an institution – as a place which engages in cyber bullying. My name is Anne Ammundsen and my username is Arbil44. I am an old woman of 75 years of age and my IT skills are very poor indeed. Everything Wikipedia requires of contributors is either Double Dutch to me, or, many times, beyond my abilities to cope with. Others can delete great swathes my work, with great glee, without even informing me until after the event, but when help is needed to rectify my mistakes, it is sparse, slow and hard to find. Here, though, I would like to highly praise both Dormskirk and Cordless Larry, both of whom have devoted much of their time to trying their best to help me. I wouldn’t say that their help has not been enough, but rather my distress goes well beyond anything they would have been able to rectify.

I had to leave Wikipedia on 1st October – for two reasons. Firstly because my health has suffered so badly from my experiences with Wikipedia since later in August 2019, that I suffered a full blown nervous breakdown. The second reason was that on 2nd October my husband was having surgery to remove a cancerous tumour and I knew that I had to give my full attention to caring for him, as best I could in light of my own state of health (permanently shaking, constantly bursting into tears and having lost the ability to sleep more than two or three hours a night, and depression which I have never experienced the like of before in my life). Not to mention that I too had surgery for cervical cancer investigations on 20th September – slap bang in the middle of my Wikipedia crisis. Initially I thought that my departure from Wikipedia would restore my health, but at the eleventh hour I was plunged back into total depression once more. Spintendo had apologised, initially, for my terrible experience with Wikipedia and expressed a wish that it would be a much more worthwhile experience for me. I have no idea whether this was a generic response, or whether they had, indeed, studied the situation and knew what had caused me to express my view that Wikipedia was a vile, vindictive and totally unforgiving environment which had destroyed not only 18 years of my work (at a cost to me of £20,000), but had destroyed my health too. At the time that is what I thought they were apologising for, but as time passed it became clear that it was only during the latter stages of my time on Wikipedia that they seemed to become aware that I had been branded with the COI label and I had been banned from my 18 years of work. This rendered their sweet apology of little value. Indeed, I can only say that my experience, post their apology, became worse and worse. Insult was added to injury when, having given notice of leaving, they appeared online again at quite literally the eleventh hour (having ignored me and left me talking to myself for three days) and instead of apologising once more, sent me a message – but there were no words in that message. The link to their message led me to a blank page – or rather – no message whatsoever. After spending an hour searching for what message they had left me I eventually deduced that they had “notified me” that they had removed my Edit Requests, which at that moment in time, contained three final edit requests to be “approved” prior to my stated departure on health grounds. This seemed like adding insult to injury. I had just spent six weeks of my life obeying every single order which had been demanded of me. I worked tirelessly to obey all the rules, but failed at times on account of my IT ineptitude. So far as providing references is concerned – I provided them all in abundance – several for each item on occasion. Many of these demands had caused me to be up until the small hours of the morning trying to find the demanded references – I didn’t let Wikipedia down on any of them in the end. A deficiency in references being the reason given for culling 6 A4 pages of my work from my Charles Asgill 2nd Baronet page – (just like that – no warning – no apology) - first submitted by me in 2007.

The other reason for the culling was that I am related to Charles Asgill, who is my g-g-g-grandfather. As I say, I have been slapped with the COI branding. I maintain that this fact is the very reason why I have become the only serious authority on the man. Not necessarily the only serious authority on “The Asgill Affair”, by any means, but the only serious authority on the man himself. I was also informed that Asgill was a “minor noble” and therefore didn’t deserve to have such a comprehensive page. This is the most extraordinary statement I have ever heard. Asgill was a cause celebre for his whole life, 5 French Plays were written about his experiences at the hands of George Washington, and throughout his life, and since his death, he has been written about continuously. “The Asgill Affair” was America’s first serious international diplomatic crisis. How then can he be no more than a “minor noble”?

The other reason I left Wikipedia was because, in my view, I was called a liar because I stated that I had found the original portrait, painted by John Hoppner, which depicts Asgill’s wife, Lady Sophia Asgill. This portrait is now owned by a Saudi prince and, in 2011, I had managed to worm my way into the palace to photograph the original portrait – with permission obviously. My photograph is, therefore, of a far better quality than the image of the Hoppner portrait which is shown on Wikipedia’s page concerning Frederica, Duchess of York, to whom Lady Asgill was Lady of the Bedchamber. I may be wrong, but I don’t think it is my own image which Dormskirk kindly uploaded. When I explained my “find” of the original portrait on the Wiki Media page (which Spintendo insisted I post on) the response was “Hm, Where would that be?” Anybody who doesn’t know the meaning of “Hm” in this context, really doesn’t deserve a place as an editor on Wikipedia. My fuller response to that poster is, I presume, still there where I give a blow by blow account of how I came to be standing in a Saudi prince’s palace photographing Hopper’s work. I requested an apology from the poster in question, but none was forthcoming, and I had no support in this request from Spintendo (who appears to be the nominated authority in charge of my COI case).

I would like to say a little about who I am now, and leave you to judge for yourself the likelihood that I am an unreliable and biased contributor who should be banned from her own page. I am the daughter of the late Colonel Philip Newton MBE, FMA, FRSA whose retirement years, after leaving the regular British Army, were spent devoting his life to Army Museums. What has been the absolute final straw for me, and has brought me to my knees emotionally, physically and psychologically is that, since May 2019 (when I visited the USA to conduct my final research) - this should have been the happiest time of my life. I am on the brink of actually changing history. How many people can claim that? The only way of doing so is to produce new, unpublished, information which nobody else has found or made public. Indeed, the information about to be revealed has been deliberately hidden for 233 years. A publication is in the process of being prepared in America for a December 2019 Journal. This amazing publication is about to completely change “The Asgill Affair”. As will be clear to anyone reading it, this has only come about because of me. Instead of the joy I should be feeling, Wikipedia has turned me into a complete gibbering wreck. I broke down yesterday with a counsellor at my local GP’s surgery. Should it be required, I am perfectly sure they would give written evidence of this. They were astonished at the treatment I have received.

Does the Wikipedia community still judge that I am worthy of being banned from my own Wikipedia page? I hope this post will not be deleted and that, in time, I will be sent a private message to the effect that the status quo has been restored. I cannot engage in further explanations or interaction – I have said it all here – and my own health, and that of my husband, demands that I do what I said I would do, and take a break from Wikipedia. Spintendo got involved because you made a COI request, so he was aware of your COI from the start of his involvement. So far as my own image of Lady Asgill is concerned, which as you rightly say, Cordless Larry, I sent to the photo permissions address in desperation - they are not responding. Which seems par for the course. I was requested by Spintendo to go to Wiki Media page to get permission. This I did. The permission is the same as the image kindly uploaded by Dormskirk. The original image is out of copyright. As I have said a million times, I do not have the IT skills to upload this much better image (photograph of Hoppnr portrait taken by me) myself. Unfortunately, as explained by Cordless Larry above, the system you are referring to is OTRS. Only a very small set of editors have access to the system and I therefore cannot access the image you have emailed to Photo Submissions. That's why I uploaded a cropped image myself. Hi Dormskirk! Thank you for improvements you made to this article, much appreciated. As you've probably guessed, I started a new article by not realising this existed, then patched the two together, and all references were thanks to Trove, the Australian National Library's facility for searching Australian newspapers to 1955. This brings me to the deletion which you suspect of being commentary, which I dispute. Responses to a search any of the various ways his name was used (including likely errors in the OCR process) abruptly ceased in July 1947. I have not guessed at a reason, only stated a fact which is not amenable to referencing, but indisputable. He was a noted airman, commandant and administrator, a member of an important family in this country, he had a critical job in Germany, then nothing more is heard. Hi - Your article looks pretty good to me. My observations would be (i) you don't need the word "Notes" in every citation (ii) you should use the citation template so that you do not have bare urls showing (see WP:BAREURL) and (iii) you should not have any redlinks in the article unless you have an immediate intention of creating those articles (see WP:REDLINK). Royal Yeomanry deployment on Op HERRICK 18

Hi. Many thanks for your help with my recent improvements of the Royal Yeomanry page.

Can you advise me on how to provide published sources for information which, by its nature, is not published?

Specifically, the figure of 25 personnel deployed by the Royal Yeomanry on Op HERRICK 18. I know that figure to be correct because at the time (2012) I commanded A (Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry) Squadron, which provided 10 of the 25. I went on to be commanding officer of the regiment (February 2017 to July 2019) and so believe I am a reliable source.

OK - thanks. The trouble is that the MOD do not provide published numbers for deployments. The best I can offer is this:

1. The MOD list of the units involved in HERRICK 18. The Royal Yeomanry contribution is significant enough to warrant a mention. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/units-to-deploy-as-part-of-herrick-18-announced

2. A mention in the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Association newsletter (March 2012) of the fact that the RY were the lead Yeomanry regiment on that roulement (see page 17). file:///Users/connmacevilly/Downloads/Annual%20Circular%202012%20web.pdf

3. Pages 22-23 of the Autumn 2011 Merchant Taylors' Company Magazine, which describe the Regiment's activities in that year and the next. In fact, there is a lot in there that I will try to incorporate. It says "we are already preparing to send up to another 50 members of the regiment on Op HERRICK 18 in early 2013". Hi - The 40 battle honours in the list in the article are not currently properly sourced so I don't think you can specify that number based solely on the list. While a drop box would not normally be acceptable, I think the letter contained in it looks sufficiently official that you could use it (to support both the 40 selected honours and the full 123 honours). Royal Yeomanry lineage

Hi,

I'm wondering if you can help with this slightly technical query.

The Lineage table is missing one set of regimental antecedents, those whose title B Squadron bears. They should go into the line below the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry. The immediate antecedents were the Staffordshire Yeomanry and the Queen's Own Warwickshire and Worcestershire Yeomanry. The QOWWY in turn was the progeny of the Warwickshire Yeomanry and the Queen's Own Worcestershire Yeomanry.

Also, the line for the Westminster Dragoons is incorrect. It should only show the Berkshire Yeomanry and 2nd County of London Yeomanry (Westminster Dragoons) as antecedents. The later stuff to the left of those two is just post-1967 renaming of the squadron.

Is there any guidance or method on how to fix these?

ORBAT of 1st (UK) Division

Hi again,

I noticed that the wire diagram showing the ORBAT of 1(UK)Div on the page List of units and formations of the British Army 2019 is incorrect.

There has been some re-jigging of units since the diagram was produced. 1R IRISH and 3PWRR have left 7th Inf Bde and 1 RIFLES and 6 RIFLES have joined it; this is correctly shown in the text on that page.

I don't know the position so far as the other brigades in the Div are concerned. The Div has also been augmented with several CS and CSS brigades in order to make it self-sustaining and deployable as a division. Again, these are listed in the text but the image does not show the changes.

Is it possible to notify whoever produced the diagram and ask them to amend it?

Hello, I uploaded the new graphic already on 10 August 2019 and added it to the article: 1st (United Kingdom) Division#Current formation. I did not add the graphic to the article List of units and formations of the British Army 2019, because I saw there were still some uncertainties about units and formations under 1st UK Division and I did not feel that at this stage the graphic was correct enough to add to that detailed article. I also created graphics for 3rd and 6th division on 10 August. It seriously pains me to have to ask for help again Dormskirk...but I've just uploaded a family video taken in Bahrain in 1982 https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1982_-_VIDEO_Bahrain_9_April_1982.webm#Summary but I must have done something wrong because it says it isn't licenced, but it belongs to me, so what can the problem be? If you are able to sort this out, then it belongs on my User page, right after the Solomon Islands one. But they are all gathering in the margin and I don't know how to space them one after the other - 3 across. I also don't like the labels on the two images you have already seen. The first needs to be "1971 - HMS Warrior, Northwood" and the second "2019 - At Sea", I tried to rename the original uploaded files, but that didn't work, so I even applied for those two images to be deleted, so I could start again with better captions. So much so was I trying not to bother you again, but I have to come running back to you once more! Could you dust off your shining armour once more please?! Irish names

Hiya. Please don't "invent" Irish names for things. Per the relevant guidelines on the Manual of Style for Ireland-related articles, we should only add and use Irish names which are commonly used outside of the project. Several of the OR terms that you have "created" for some of those courthouses were entirely incorrect (like Green Street Courthouse, which presumed that "green" referred to the colour, when it clearly doesn't). And, regardless of whether they are grammatically or factually correct, it should never be the case that a term exists only on Wikipedia. And nowhere else in the world. That is the very definition of original research. And, frankly, I am very surprised to be finding myself having to point that out to an otherwise seasoned editor. Airtours Group PLC rebranding and proposing a merger of pages between MyTravel Group and Airtours

Am I correct in saying that Airtours was only rebranded to MyTravel and therefore the pages should both be merged together. They were the same company just with a different name until 2007, and therefore have the same history. HSE as an independent source

Heya, you undid my revisions claiming that cuh.hse.ie isn't a good independent reliable source. While I accept it isn't independent, HSE websites are reliable (comparable to NHS websites) as it is the national government health service for Ireland. Hi - A key feature of wikipedia is that it is independent and does not rely on what official authorities claim. It could be right but we should not rely on claims by the Irish Government (any more than the British or US Government). There is also the issue of measurement. I would still question its notability. Simplifying it, all the article says is that in 1999 some intra-group transfers took place and in 2002 an internal re-organisation and re-branding took place. Major General Cyril Lloyd

Dormskirk, would this person be considered notable? [2]? There appears to be something missing from the biography though - he was a very senior officer in military intelligence in WWII, but unless I am missing something obvious, there appears to be no mention of this. Where would that information be found - Army Lists - Opera hat seems to have ready access to them? If you think him notable (post war he was the Director General of the City and Guilds of London Institute) would you be prepared to do a page for him? All my recollections and knowledge of him are based on him being the most fascinating, funny and cuddly 'Uncle Cyril', which isn't going to be what Wikipedia wants! I know nothing about his military or civilian working life. I'll upload those three images (and maybe video, but I have to cut some off first) so that they are there for you to position. That's fine. I suspect that "cartography" underplays the importance of the activity. The map is the end product of a lot of challenging and perhaps dangerous information gathering and having a good map will subsequently determine the success of subsequent military operations. BTW, I have a minor project gestating to insert into the entry a discussion of the accusations raised against Lawrence in Aldington's "Biographical Inquiry" and subsequent consideration of what Aldington got right and wrong. Obviously notable since multiple books have been written about the controversy. This came to mind because I noticed you (correctly) removed an unsourced passage about Lawrence declining a decoration. Aldington isn't right on everything, but Lawrence was unreliable on decorations.

Dear Dormskirk,

My name is Sophie and I work in the communications team at Sainsbury’s.

I’m getting in touch as I’ve seen you’ve taken an active interest in the Sainsbury’s Wikipedia page and so I wanted to reach out to see if you would consider looking at Mike Coupe’s, the current CEO’s, page.

I’m aware of Wikipedia’s COI rules, and so I wanted to ask for some help in reviewing this page as it could do with being fleshed out a bit and it appears that the Controversies section is out of balance compared to the rest of the entry’s content. I wanted to make some suggestions both to beef up the biographical sections, correct some factual errors, improve citations and slightly reduce the controversies section so that the entry has better overall balance. I'd be incredibly grateful if you could please review the entry and consider my suggestions.

I have listed some suggested changes to the entry and have included citations in case that’s helpful. Also, apologies in advance for any errors in formatting or syntax - I don't edit and I’m new to Wikipedia so I’m still learning.

1. To flesh out Mike’s biographical details, I suggest adding the following to the Career section, Sainsbury’s sub-section, which outlines some key milestones in Mike’s career:

• ‘Mike Coupe was appointed CEO of Sainsbury’s in 2014. Soon after his appointment he announced a strategic review that aimed to address the challenges caused by a changing retail market.’ Sources for this include these articles in The Mirror, the Telegraph and International Business Times.
• ‘In 2016 he spearheaded the takeover of Home Retail Group which included Argos and Habitat.’ Sources here in the Financial Times and The Guardian.
• ‘In March 2018 he announced new industry-leading pay for colleagues.’ Sources in the Independent and in the Mirror.
• ‘More recently, Coupe has overseen digital transformation and investment at Sainsbury’s, including the introduction of the UK’s first till-free store and the digitisation of Nectar through a new app and website.’ Sources for both of these initiatives are in the Mail on Sunday, City A.M. and The Mirror.

2. The Controversies section contains some wording that doesn’t appear to be objective and is in some instances factually incorrect. Simply removing some of this language would make the entry more strictly factual and reduce the proportion relating to this single controversy. The copy that reads ‘It was also reported that Coupe would make over six hundred thousand pounds from the merger thus reinforcing the beliefs of many that CEO pay is unfairly high in contrast to large numbers of workers below them that earn significantly lower wages’ is factually incorrect and has no citation. Therefore, I’d suggest removing everything from 'This angered…’ through to ‘…significantly lower wages.' In its place, I suggest inserting the following: ‘The video was widely shared and critiqued’, which feels more neutral.

3. The final sentence of the Controversies section is factually inaccurate and isn’t supported by the citation. We would suggest replacing it with: ‘In 2019 he was criticised for reducing the amount traditionally paid towards a Christmas party for Argos colleagues, bringing it in line with money paid towards the Sainsbury’s colleagues’ Christmas party.’

4. Within the Career section there is a missing citation for the following statement: ‘He previously worked with, and at one point worked above Justin King at Asda.’ Please can I request that this be removed?

I would really appreciate any support you can provide in rebalancing this page and I hope it comes across clearly that these are just suggestions, to try to make the entry more accurate and balanced. Wren Kitchens

Dear Dormskirk,

I work in the communications team for Wren Kitchens. I’m getting in touch to request your help on tidying up our Wikipedia article.  

Last week you rejected a request for deletion of the Wren Kitchens article. Since 2017, the user who requested the deletion has repeatedly added to the Controversy section (Revision 804975588, Revision 804976400 ) and has blatantly reformatted the section in an unconventional way, in order to give it more prominence (Revision 806660659, Revision 806660832).

We feel the controversy section has undue weight in its current state, and most of the references lead to broken links: 

In 2015, Wren Kitchens was investigated by BBC Watchdog for providing customers with poor customer service. The investigation found that the company had provided partial orders to customers and was extremely slow to rectify issues. The firm responded by stating that they are heavily investing in improving their customer service department. Cited reference

• This goes to a broken link, so should not be used. There have been over 1,000 episodes of Watchdog, each reviewing multiple companies, so as you can imagine, many major UK retailers, banks, and consumer facing companies have featured on the programme. A one-off cameo appearance should not be controversial enough to go on a company’s Wikipedia article.

In Spring 2016, the firm was one of 12 kitchen brands researched by the consumer association Which?. WrenLiving came second from last out of the 12 kitchen companies assessed. Cited reference

• This is an annual report from 2016. They have had 3 more reports since, so is out of date. But where is the controversy on Homebase’s Wikipedia article, saying they came last out of 12 companies? Where is the controversy on B&Q’s Wikipedia article, saying they came third from last? Where is the controversy on the other 11 kitchen brands’ articles? Is this really notable enough to go down as a Wren Kitchens Controversy?

In November 2016, Wren Kitchens said it would honour any quote provided by Betta Living when the rival kitchen retailer went into administration "in order to maintain the public’s trust in the UK kitchen market". Cited reference 1 The firm's "aggressive expansion" had been previous cited by The Times Cited reference 2 as the reason for the collapse of HomeForm Group (parent company of Möben Kitchens & Sharps Bedrooms). Wren subsequently offered to protect the deposits of customers affected by the collapse of the group. Cited reference 3

• Not controversial, not even a negative statement about Wren Kitchens here. But are these notable enough to have a place on a Wikipedia article? The stories are from 2016 and 2011, with the second source now being a broken link.

In March 2017 the firm was fined £12,000 after pleading guilty to breaking the Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, Regulation 9 and the European Communities Act 1972 Section 2(2), by misleading customers on kitchen pricing. Cited reference 1, Cited reference 2

• This is incorrect. Wren Kitchens was fined in March 2016; not March 2017. Although the Wren Kitchens article did originally cite the date as March 2016 Revision 806622882 ), on 23rd October 2017, the disruptive editor changed this date to March 2017 to make it seem like a more recent article (Revision 806660659).  

Besides this vandalism, it’s an irrelevant, completely uncontroversial and un-noteworthy £12,000 fine due to one point of sale mistake in 2014, advertising the price of a unit for £1,894 instead of £2,008. Not notable enough to belong on a company’s Wikipedia article.

In August 2017, Which? undertook an investigation against companies within the kitchen industry to understand the differences in quote prices. The investigation found that quotes between stores could vary, with one discounted quote being 11% cheaper for the same kitchen at different stores. • This point was added by the same disruptive user, referencing an article which mentions a number of kitchen companies, including Magnet Kitchens and B&Q who had higher variances in quotes than Wren Kitchens. Yet there is no mention of this 'controversy' on the Magnet or B&Q Wikipedia articles. So why does the Wren Kitchens article mention this? Is it really notable enough to appear here? If so, should this controversy be added to the Magnet and B&Q articles as well?

• The Rip-Off Britain reference links to a page which shows Harveys and Bensons for Beds, with no mention of Wren Kitchens. I cannot find any source to show that Wren Kitchens even featured on Rip Off Britain. And to the same point as the Watchdog controversy, it’s not controversial and is not notable enough to warrant a place on Wikipedia.

AVM Sean Corbett CB MBE was appointed to this new post after being ACAS Intelligence (or whatever the title is now, the note was "the RAF's senior intelligence officer" suppose he might have been a one-star). He's now retired [11] (see also http:// --> dgi.wbresearch.com/speakers/sean-corbett (blacklisted link), one-star service) but as a two-star he was notable and this post's creation puts him in line with the current trend of U.S. naval, army and poss other formations (C2F, III Corps) having foreign deputy commanders - it is a growing thing. He retired about two years ago and the successor is a notably hard-charging Kiwi officer, John Howard, who I can write up the bio on. Could you pull something together? I specifically object to the words banditi and bigoted, but the lengthy discussions themselves seem inappropriate, even if they were couched in the best possible wording, because it makes the two of you appear to be plotting against consensus. Yopienso certainly does misunderstand. I was under personal attack (even for being "English" and living in "England") and so stepped in to assist me. He, unlike Yopienso, understands that while I am exceedingly authoritative on all matters relating to Asgill, I am old, IT illiterate, and very much at the end of my rope with trying to ensure wikipedia is the "truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" - ironically Yopienso's very own words on their userpage! I regret that Dormskirk seems to be trying his best to help you not by introducing you to how things are done here, but by acting as a liaison between you and everyone else. and so abetting your sense of being an outsider and being attacked. Dormskirk, you could greatly help Arbil44 by clueing her in on Wikipedia policies and culture. She doesn't understand that here a "crusade"--as the Abels laudingly put it--isn't acceptable. Neither does she undertand that there's no hurry. Neither does she understand that suggestions aren't attacks. Dormskirk, you could best help Arbil44 but asking her take a breath and then instructing her on generalities; assistance with Asgill would come after that. You would thus spare her from her present needless agony AND HER FRUSTRATED SHOUTING.

The basic policy to understand here is WP:NPOV and, more specifically, WP:ADVOCACY, particularly the section Defences. Most urgently, I recommend a perusal of Righting great wrongs and Seeing editing as being about taking sides.

Ten years makes an enormous difference. Most of my friends don't even have computers. I am terrified of the IT here. Yes, true - I even start shaking and hyper-venting. Unbelievable isn't it. Dormskirk has helped me just in the way I wanted and appreciated. I thought I had left Wikipedia permanently, for ever, never to return several days ago, but as you say, this is going to go on for ever and a day. 3 no shows at the hospital resulted in VIP treatment for me! Procedure rushed through and I’m now home. I’m back on t-shirts again, because I may not be here much longer. I do not know how to negotiate with people who do not know the difference between ‘conditional’ and ‘unconditional’ – the very heart of the matter. I’ve been bashing my head against a brick wall and I’ve put myself on the line, and, in real life, my entire existence has gone to pot and my family is now worried about me. I am dealing with people who not only know nothing, but now I discover that they understand nothing either. And I am blamed for the length of the thread, because I keep repeating myself. I may have gone as soon as I can post something from Mike Abel, so I need to sort t-shirts for you and Cordless Larry. I don’t care if you want one or not; you can use it to clean the car! But I want to send you both something to remember me by – and all that we have gone through as “Team Asgill”! (Remember the College of Arms Cordless Larry)?! (And remember the GW thread Dormskirk)!! My daughter has a plan which may work! She says I need an online provider – one I can speak to on the phone – pay them for 4 t-shirts and tell them that two of the recipients will contact them separately regarding colour, size, name and address. All very clandestine, but it might work. But if I’m no longer here I will not be able to set it up. I just want you to know that I am going to miss you so much. You have become part of my daily life and I don’t know how I will fill the gap you will leave behind! You and Cordless Larry have been my lifeguards and I wouldn’t have been saved without you both.
