Re: List of Indian football champions

Hey, first off, agree 100% with the way you word it. BUT, I did have a look at the English and German pages and it gave me an idea: Why don't we expand the scope of this beyond the NFL, I-League, and I-League/ISL? The German article includes "champions" from before the Bundesliga even started. It is quite interesting and also accurate since those were German championship games. Technically, the same is true for India. Prior to the NFL, we had the Federation Cup, Rovers Cup, Durand Cup, Santosh Trophy etc. as the main comps. Would love to include all of that in the article as well. What do you think? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 01:49, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

ArsenalFan700, I think that will be a good idea too. Then along with the lead we have to write a little history portion too or include everything in the lead as the English list article. Drat8sub (talk) 09:38, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

May 2020

Please update relevant information. Please check that relevant information has been updated. Such as the current manager, Delhi Dynamos' history, stadium details etc. SaUp2014 (talk) 09:59, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

SaUp2014 No you have just reverted the whole edit. And new manager is not official yet. If its official added the official source of club. Not newspaper or and website, should be Odisha FC website or twitter handle where they are confirming the same. Drat8sub (talk) 10:03, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Drat8sub Ok.
Let me start with the infobox.
I would do a comparison, let's decide on this.
Current Manager: Vacant
The club was founded on the 16th of July in 2014 as Delhi Dynamos FC and on the 31st of August in 2019, as Odisha FC.
Added this relevant piece of information:
The club began completing under the name of Delhi Dynamos FC for the first five seasons, operating from Delhi and playing their home games at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Ahead of the 2019–20 season, the management decided to shift their base from Delhi to Bhubaneswar, Odisha and rebranded themselves as Odisha FC and began to play their home games at the iconic Kalinga Stadium.
Added this to the formation section, again relevant information:
On 31 August 2019, Delhi Soccer Private Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha, to shift the home base from the national capital New Delhi to Bhubaneswar, Odisha and re-branded the franchise as Odisha FC. The new home for the team was decided to be the Kalinga Stadium at Bhubaneswar.
Other edits include the removal of incomplete kit history. Otherwise, everything else remains the same, except the wordings. Also, all the edits which require to be sourced, are sourced, and are from reliable sources.

SaUp2014 (talk) 10:21, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

      • Addition of Juggernauts without reliable source.
      • The club started once, as simple as that, name changed.
      • position template changed, unexplained
      • (established as Delhi Dynamos FC) removed without explanation, and addition of those thing not required as the previous part well explaining in summarised way in the lead, the other infomration is there in the body.
      • Rebranding should be in the ownership history, the history section should only focus on clubs playing history.
      • Removed the main article templates without explanation.
      • adding superfiacial inaugural edition for Odisha, there is only one inaugural season for a club
      • Section should be summarised not details of every match, thats why main article templates are used.
      • Secondly, total violation of WP:MOS.
You have already got the 4th level warning, a further warning will lead you to get blocked. So, stop this and go through wikipedia guidelines and policies. Drat8sub (talk) 10:47, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
I would like to ask you this question, how do you define rebranding? Please elaborate. Research as well, then ask me the mentioned. SaUp2014 (talk) 11:10, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
They're referred to as the Juggernauts, if you want a source, I can add that.
Yes, we can add established as Delhi Dynamos FC, but I think what actually happened must be published.
2019-20 is the inaugural season, the 'rebranded' side has played.
Yes, we can summarize. SaUp2014 (talk) 11:16, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Do you understand where the problem is ? The problem is, you still arguing without going through the policies. First read the policies and guidelines and come here to put your comments. period. And I absolutely no need to tell you what rebranding is, I am not here to educate you and finally, its not "if I want", its what wikipedia wants. Thats why again and again telling you, go through the guidelines. Drat8sub (talk) 11:26, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Drat8sub, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 10:03, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of Ishan Pandita

Sir, the page I created for Ishan Pandita has been deleted. I don't know why it happened because I made it with proper references and reliable sources. I would like to recreate it and pray for your help in this regard. Sir, please help me. Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill (talk) 14:54, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill, read the deletion discussion. The link is there at your talk page. There you will find the reason of deletion, the policies the article is failing and read them carefully so that in future you should not make such article which fails policies and guidelines of wikipedia. And please, don't call "sir", I feel myself to moon if someone calls such, I want to remain in earth [sarcasm]. Drat8sub (talk) 14:59, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
I really want to recreate the article. But the page is now locked from editing. Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill (talk) 15:06, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill, told you, to read the policies addressed in the deletion discussion. The page cannot be created until and unless the player's career satisfies WP:NFOOTY. Drat8sub (talk) 15:31, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Drat8sub, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Sciences Po Intro

Hey Drat8sub, what's up? I've noticed you undid my modifications for the lead section on the article about Sciences Po Paris. I looked into the changes I made and you were right to undo my modifcation, as it seemed to sometimes "speak unnecessarily" about the university and thus didn't follow the MoS as you pointed out. I've made changes (noticeably deleting the list of partner universities and some strong words). I otherwise truly believe my modifications to be of value [1] (listing campuses and degrees offered) [2] listing prominent alumni by sector and positions (as is in the 4th paragraph of LSE's wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_School_of_Economics). [3] Pointing out sciences po's common core, which is an essential part of the univerisity's educational model, ("founded in the social sciences". To get an idea of my thought-process, I looked up "similar" well-established universities wiki's in order to get an idea for completing Sciences Po's one. Mainly the ones of HEC, LSE, UCL, Columbia etc... I truly believe my contribution makes Sciences Po's lead section reasonably lengthed and detailed enough, without being too detailed or violation the MoS, after the edits I mentioned. Please reply if you are still against my latest modification and the eventual reasons so we can talk. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfkennedy23 (talkcontribs) 07:40, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Second comment I also moved the part on Sciences Po's partner universities, blending in with the dual degrees. I really believe both items (dual degrees & partner universities) should be mentioned in the intro bc it is a particularity, and "signature aspect" of Sciences Po to have so many partnerships with so many universities. Hope to hear from you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfkennedy23 (talkcontribs) 07:51, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

ISL Premiers

Please add "League Premiers" article in ISL. SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 07:49, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

SAIKAT MARINERS DEY, not a necessary thing. But add the information with footnotes in the championship table with ATK.
Like this:
2019-20|ATK[a]
That will be enough to add. Drat8sub (talk) 14:14, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
  1. ^ However, from 2019-20 season the league topper, called as premier, gets the AFC Champions League group stage slot and presented with a ISL League Winners Shield.

Hi, Drat8sub, thanks for the invite. You could directly tagged WP:G12 as its a case of copyright violation. See the details I have posted at the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nataša Stanković discussion. Anyways, lets see what is the result of AfD. I have also informed about this to an Admin for help. Thank you. ~ Amkgp 15:18, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Correct, I should have checked the copyvio. A promotional article for sure. Drat8sub (talk) 15:24, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the invite

But I tend to only !vote on articles where I have subject area expertise, and where I have a strong understanding of the subject notability guidelines (mostly Visual Art, also LGBTQ/Gender Studies, sometimes Literature and Academics). For example, I find that musicians and actors are often too far from my subject area expertise for me to give a really laser sharp read on them, the way I can with a visual artist. Hello Drat8sub. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Ashna Kishore, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Provides a WP:CCS as per previous CSD decline. Thank you. Eumat114 formerly TLOM (Message) 06:05, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

ISL 2019-20 league 3rd Bengaluru FC qualified for AFC Cup 2021. Please add Bengaluru FC in AFC Cup qualification in 2019-20 Indian Super League season SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 15:24, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

SAIKAT MARINERS DEY, we have to maintain official status of qualification, which is ISL league winner gets AFC Champions league slot and league runners will get AFC Cup playoff. But ATK merged with MB who is playing the AFC group stage by vitue of I-League champion, AFC cup play-off goes to Bengaluru. So for consistency a Note is enough. I am adding it. Drat8sub (talk) 17:21, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Indian football champions

In the Champions section of List of Indian football champions we are writting yearwise champions of top tier leagues. Beside the champions we are writing the number of titles in brackets. In the number of titles we are considering overall league titles, not the titles of that particular tournament. But in the "Indian Super League" section you have written the number of ISL title, not the overall title. So I have modified you edit. SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 13:40, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

SAIKAT MARINERS DEY, kept your version, also let see what Arsenalfan says. We have to work on consensus. And please refrain from edit warring or adding WP:OR, you may get blocked for such behavious. Use article talk page for any clarification. Drat8sub (talk) 15:15, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
One thing is still yet to be understood by me what is the wrong in the sentence "Since 2019-20 season, the ISL champions are considered as the national champions." SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 15:26, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
And I don't undrstand, why you don't understand. "considered as the national champions"...no its not national champion yet..is not when two leagues are existing, you can call that after 2022, when hopefully the promotion relegation between I-League and ISL will start and I-League becomes the 2nd tier league. And there is also no citation for such claim. Thats why since 2017 both the leagues are added. For any further discussion have it at article talk page please. Drat8sub (talk) 15:33, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
Yes, I understand that when two leagues are co-existing then we can't call "considered as the national champions". So for 2017-18 season and 2018-19 season also, we cannot say the I-League champion the "National champions". SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 06:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
Correct. I didn't see that, it was placed according to the previous table. Thanks for bringing my notice...corrected now. Drat8sub (talk) 16:11, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

2019-20 I-League Runners-up

In 2019-20 I-League, East Bengal F.C. is not officially declared as Runners-Up. After giving the Champions prize to Mohun Bagan A.C., the remaining prize is equally distributed to remaining 10 teams. But in List of Indian football champions, you have put the name of East Bengal FC in the I-League 2019-20 runners-up list. SAIKAT MARINERS DEY (talk) 14:09, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

SAIKAT MARINERS DEY, hey discuss at the article talk page not at my talk page. And I have not put that. The table will be updated properly, Arsenalfan is making draft for this. Drat8sub (talk) 14:19, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Indian national football team

@Drat8sub, you are just playing with a Country's history, heritage, glory and honours through removing the realistic informations. If you are helpful and knowledgeable, you could cooperate with us developing a prominent heritage, what it is. You just removed bit by bit what was there (available). Don't play with a country's history and if possible add the correct things (stats), which are needed. Please and please do not show your perfectness only in removing the most important facts. Wikipedia is open to cooperate, not too interfere and abortion. Thank you :) Yogabrata (talk) 16:20, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Yogabrata, here is a basic advice for you, first read wikipedia guidelines and policies. Second go through WP:FOOTY. I know very well the country's heritage, glory, honours and where it needed to be mentioned and how it needed to be mentioned or whether it needed to be mentioned. So, again go through required policies and project first, then have words. Drat8sub (talk) 16:28, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
That is an excuse and just avoiding a required collaboration. Respected Editor, thank you. Foreigners editing India's heritage, you are right through your prescribing. You can enlarge the Deleted section following the perfect rules, regulations and Wikipedia editing policies. Please help this section because I want your help. And dear, you can terminate my account. Thanks. Yogabrata (talk) 16:35, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
All your answers are there in the WP:FOOTY and wikipedia guidelines. Please go through. And let me make it clear, honours is when you won something, and honours section is only for major tournament. Will be enlarged further when India will win some major tournament. AFC Asian Cup and Olympics are already mentioned thats why its written as Others honours. I will not give any more explanation. Drat8sub (talk) 16:49, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Ok well, you know you are pretty correct and that's why can it be done as Continental, Regional, Minor (as sub section) tournaments won by India just life there for the other national football teams (page)? For example Malaysia national football team :- Honours & Achievements (section). Yogabrata (talk) 16:58, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Yogabrata, have you gone through the the said guidelines or not. Malaysia team article is not parameter. This is for final time I'm advising you, go through WP:PG, WP:FA, WP:GA, WP:MOS, WP:FOOTY. Drat8sub (talk) 17:07, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
This is for final time I'm saying thank you so much for your guidance and kindness. Yogabrata (talk) 17:12, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at 2020 China–India skirmishes shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
I don’t know if you’ve realized, but you’ve made some 16 or so non-consecutive reverts on the same article. 3RR is a bright red line. Please don’t cross it again.MarkH21talk 15:55, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

MarkH21, I know rules, this has been going on for long. The page was protected but as soon as the protection expired the page has been disrupted multiple times. We have to maintain status quo of the subject. More than that, I've opened discussion at talk page which other user must open rather whose edits were reverted and also requested for page protection. The figure that has been added are porrly sourced or unsourced. There are no other options as we can't keep false information in the article. Drat8sub (talk) 16:01, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Again, 3RR is a bright line. You can discuss at talk without reverting, you can request further page protection, but you cannot break 3RR.
Also you do not have to have to maintain status quo of the subject. Status quo alone is not a reason to revert; for instance, see status quo stonewalling. — MarkH21talk 16:05, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
MarkH21 The fact is when there was first revert, I've immediately opened discussion so that users must discuss if they feel to keep the materials. The consensus should be for keeping the materials and not for removing the materials. Why status quo is important because, the citation is falwed whose reference is added multiple times, which I have clearly mentioned in the discussion. But you will find whole lot of ip and new users who are doing it. No experienced editors is adding this. Simply shows POV pushing going along with offline canvassing. Drat8sub (talk) 16:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
This doesn’t change that you shouldn’t cross 3RR. Status quo itself isn’t important; the argument about citations being flawed would be, but that’s what the discussion is for. If they ignore discussion and revert others, then you have grounds for an edit-warring report and restoring your version later.
But again. 3RR is a clear line. — MarkH21talk 16:19, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
