A thank and a question

Thanks for the help. I will add some more information on African culture and languages - in particular Kabiyé (a Gur language of north Togo). Is there a way for one's edits in other languages to all be counted together on your contributions, or does one have to create and manage separate wiki accounts in the other languages to do so? The issue of vanity

I think you are exaggerating the issue of vanity in the pages related to Mikhail Lebedev. All the references are to something published in good journals. I think that participation of the experts in Wikipedia is important as opposed to non-professionals copying something from old textbooks. Deletion of references simply because there is a suspetion that vanity was a motivating factor does not seem like a good idea. Substance should be discussed and not subjective impressions about the articles' authors. --EncephalonSeven 18:44, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Octaviano Olympio

About that article... he is said to be an "AfroBrasilian". I don't think that this term is used really. In Brazil, this would be refered as something like African descendent (not that really, but the translation is complicated). In america, there might be the term African-American (I'm not shure), but AfroBrasilian seens inadequate. Do you have any suggestions? I would change if to African descendent Brasilian, but I'm not shure if this is correct. Or maybe it's afrbrasilian actually, and I'm the one not getting it, I don't know. algumacoisaqq 19:53, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Humm... sorry, I would love to help, but unfortunely, I know absolutely nothing about Olympio (well, I know now that I read your article). I just tought that the AfroBrasilian term was a bad adaptation from AfroAmerican, or something like that. About JFAS's RfC/RfA campaigning on article talk pages

Of course, we all know he's been actively soliciting other Wikipedians to pile on on their personal pages and on article talk pages. In skimming the comments above, it would appear that he has said he was going to remove such notices. However, I just happened across two of them without trying. He's either being disingenuous or sloppy. After all, if he can't keep up with his article talk-page RfA/RfC spamming from memory, it's easy enough for him to retrace his steps and fix the problem. Hey Dyvost -- I'm only posting this here as deeceevoice would probably delete it immediately if I put it on her page. If there are any articles that still have the RfC post on them I'd be happy to remove them (and you and everyone else have my permission to do so). We talked about it and I agreed to do this, and I was pretty sure I got them all. I'm surprised there are two remaining, and I'd be REALLY surprised if there were three. I am also pretty sure there aren't any as far as the RfAr. I informed users involved in the RfC, which I thought was the appropriate thing to do. Hi, Have a look at ref 29 in [1] re the history - that looks reputable and citable to me. I doubt if there are any sources for the modern village but don't imagine that anyone would particularly want to invent that material - suggest you just delete it if you're uncomfortable with it (personally I'm prepared to take that bit on trust as it fits with the little I know about the region)? List of national libraries

Thanks. I have a sneaking suspicion that every basically has something it calls a national library, or a de facto one at least, but at a certain point, the internet just isn't helpful for certain coutries. And there simply isn't a comprehensive source I can find. Countries like Yemen, Chad, Comoros, CAR, etc. still frustrate me. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks, you too. Actually, I have a question for you. You put the article for Mali's at National Library of Mali, and not Bibliothèque Nationale de Mali. Do you know if that is correct convention? The governing convention is the most common English language name; I generally Google both the French and English while translating, and if I find the French coming up commonly in English-language news stories, etc., I use that, otherwise I use the English. Backroom tamperings?

Hi there, I was just wondering if you've heard of, or could possibly find out, any tampering to my rollback capabilites. I am a non-sysop, and I've found the rollback button by Sam Hocevar to be a godsend in fighting vandalism. The script has worked well for me, without bugs or concern, for over a month now. For some rather peculiar reason, I get a "&fakeaction=rollback" rather than "&action=rollback" when attempting to rollback vandalism. If this is just on my end, I can clean it up. However, before I do such, given the fact that you are a sysop, I'd like confirmation that my recent rollback shortcomings are not' the work of an inside bureaucrat.
