Content removals[edit]

Greetings,

I saw that you're removing some templates from articles about Canadian politicians [1]. You might have a good reason for this but I wasn't sure since there wasn't an edit summary. What's your purpose? Cheers, Cheerful Squirrel (talk) 23:11, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They were shifted to Template:Canadian federal election, 2015/St. Albert—Edmonton. The entire set of content is there. Ebbedlila (talk) 02:30, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Electoral districts[edit]

Hey, can you please be sure to add the electoral district to the Canadian election templates you create? Like this. Thanks! Elli (talk | contribs) 03:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello sure I can do that. Ebbedlila (talk) 03:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Bocchit Edmond[edit]

Hello, Ebbedlila,

Thank you for creating Bocchit Edmond.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Insufficient information about this person to meet general notability guidelines and biography of living persons.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

July 2021[edit]

Hi Ebbedlila, I just wanted to give you a heads up that when you add section titles to articles, they should be added in sentence case per MOS:Head. For example, "Electoral History" should be "Electoral history". I noticed that you have added the incorrect format to a lot of articles, but I'll try to fix as many as I can to help you out here. Regardless of the formatting mistakes, you're doing great work to get the election results updated. Cmr08 (talk) 07:34, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Ebbedlila (talk) 00:51, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Louise Charbonneau[edit]

Hello, Ebbedlila,

Thank you for creating Louise Charbonneau.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Both lines disambiguate to the same person/article

Page edit description[edit]

Hi Ebbedlilia.

Most importantly, thanks for updating the wikilinks for Louise Charbonneau.

A minor quibble - when you do such updates, it would be less confusing to describe it as wikilink updated than page moved, which has a very specific meaning in page histories.

Keep up the good work with the wikilinks. G. Timothy Walton (talk) 16:45, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for reverts: King and Diefenbaker[edit]

Hi Ebbedlila, I've reverted your two additions to the articles on King and Diefenbaker. That's not a comment on the value of the templates you've done for Prince Albert; just that there are already two articles dealing with the electoral histories for those two PMs, covering their entire electoral histories, not just the PA riding. Each of the PMs has their own "Electoral history of" pages. Given the length of the electoral histories and the pages about the PMs themselves, the electoral histories have been split out. Please feel free to add to, edit, and improve those "Electoral history of" pages. Best wishes, Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 15:02, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Serjeant Buzfuz oh thank you for the explanation. I appreciate it. Ebbedlila (talk) 15:06, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! Please keep up the good work - hope you enjoy the wikipedia experience! Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 15:11, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, you might want to drop by the Wikipedia:Canadian Wikipedians' notice board now and then, to see what's happening about Canadian issues on the WP. Please feel free to contribute! Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 16:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tag edits[edit]

Hi, could you please tag your mass edits to template date fields with the "minor edit" flag? Because you're hitting an entire subject area at the same time, you're effectively taking up the entire watchlists of quite a few Australian editors and we're unable to filter them out because you didn't mark them as minor edits. This may mean, for example, that vandalism that occurred before you started goes unseen and untouched because you pushed it out of the watchlists of everyone who had it on there. The Drover's Wife (talk) 22:12, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention, an edit like [this one is not permissible because it's a cosmetic bot edit (i.e. it makes no change in output to the page). Graham87 02:40, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I'll stop. Thank you. Ebbedlila (talk) 02:44, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Graham87, please advise if adding short descriptions are ok via AWB? Ebbedlila (talk) 02:45, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Yes, that's fine, because that changes the way pages are displayed for mobile users. Graham87 06:04, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It would also be good if the people you tag were in fact Australian politicians. That's certainly not true for Joseph Dodson; I've changed a number of articles that I've got on my watchlist. Schwede66 04:34, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes[edit]

When making a politician’s page make sure to include an Infobox Bigmike2346 (talk) 14:20, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

template dates[edit]

In some of your recent edits, you have been changing dates on maintenance templates like {{use mdy dates}}. Please note the date can't be in the future (e.g September 2021) as there is no corresponding category for future month/years. MB 00:28, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Hey, I appreciate your efforts to document past Canadian elections, but could you please make sure to cite your sources? This is very important, especially in templates that are going to be used in multiple places. It's nearly impossible for someone to look at a template like Template:Canadian federal election, 1867/Albert and see where the data came from. Thanks!
