The article Africa Cup of Nations Best Player has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This should be a template, not an article. Please move it to template space.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Captains[edit]

Hi.

There is a consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 101#Team Captains succession box: use or no use? not to use these succesion boxes so please stop adding them. Qed237 (talk) 14:56, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

January 2017[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Robert Lewandowski shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Qed237 (talk) 14:57, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

why not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eemiratess (talkcontribs)

Read the discussion above, and please do never add content again after being reverted. You should always discuss first. WP:BRD might be a good read as well as the discussion regarding the captain successions. Qed237 (talk) 15:03, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1. I do not understand your conduct QED. You tell me to consult information posted on Wikipedia, and I do not konsultująch them you delete them without discussion.

2. I believe that being a captain is an honor and a biography of each player if he was a captain is podreślane and respected.

2. If wikipedia is encyplopedią, it is logical that the more interesting the information, the better for the reader, because I can learn many interesting things, and being captain is interesting eg. Templates "captains who won the world championship."

Please return to inform readers about being a captain. I look forward to democracy, not a dictatorship your QED. Have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eemiratess (talkcontribs)

Just read Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 101#Team Captains succession box: use or no use? as I posted above. All involved editors said "no", it is not my decision but a community WP:CONSENSUS. Qed237 (talk) 15:21, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

on wikipedia is a lot of articles where the mark players as captains as today I did in about 20 articles, why my posts are deleted, while others do not?

all the information that I published are correct and have a source.

I find it unfair just because they come from Eastern Europe,

Qed237 are undemocratic and authoritarian. You deleted my posts without discussion, democracy is not only about imposing your view.

It's sad and a great scandal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eemiratess (talkcontribs)

If you dont agree I suggest you open a new discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football where all editors interested in football can talk and discuss. Qed237 (talk) 15:33, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I can not be expected to know details about all other articles (WP:OSE) but I do know that the football section in the Wikipedia community has decided to now keep this information (explained in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 101#Team Captains succession box: use or no use?). It is not my personal decision and when I saw it being added against consensus I decided to remove it. Qed237 (talk) 15:38, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are more than welcome to ask other editors if I did something wrong. Qed237 (talk) 15:40, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have removed without consultation with me or with the author. I spent a lot of time on this information, and you deleted it in 1 minute because for you it is not important information. What hinder these additional valuable information about the Polish football players, this is an outrage! on many other websites about the players the information they are and you delete it, and you did it only because he wanted to raise the value of the Polish players. Close your eyes and think about how many millions of people who read Wikipedia about their favorite football players read any side boards on which command me by force and compulsion to go and read. You discriminate against me, my knowledge and my work, if you do not fall back my content to write to the Ombudsman, wikipedia and the human rights court in Strasbourg to the European Union. Discrimination is a big crime QED. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eemiratess (talkcontribs)

@GiantSnowman and Mattythewhite: You are administrators and football editors. Did I do something wrong in edits like this and what do you think about the discussion on this talkpage (and the claims of taking it further)? Qed237 (talk) 18:06, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Qed237: - your edit was correct, we do not use succession boxes in football articles. GiantSnowman 18:11, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

England player of the year[edit]

Hi. I removed your addition of Lallana in this edit of Template:England Player of the Year. I did it because you did not provide any source and the footballer was not included in the main article The FA England Awards, which only shows players until 2015. If you have any source I would be happy to revert my edits and help updating the main article. Qed237 (talk) 15:35, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I think all places has now been updated and I also added some text in Adam Lallana article to support his award and the template. Better to add text and not just a template. Qed237 (talk) 15:48, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

QED

I have the impression that you delete everything that will put in wikipedia. Of course, all you delete what I will add even if it is true. I do not understand why you do it. A use google to search for information does not hurt, and you can do it in 10 seconds. Your action discourages me to unpaid work at the wikipedia project. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eemiratess (talkcontribs)

I am sorry if that is your feeling. But that is not true and you can see above that as soon as a source has been found the content is readded. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and all content should be neutral and well sourced. And also I explained to you above the community consensus not to include succession boxes for captains. It was not my decision but the decision from Wikipedia:WikiProject Football Qed237 (talk) 15:57, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[edit]

To create a template you would just do it by naming the page something like: Template:Thisisanexampledonotcreate and adding the necessary content. Just put Template: in front of the page name. For more information you can see Help:Template. TonyBallioni (talk) 21:02, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the template you created above to Template:European Athletics Indoor Championships champions in women's 4 × 400 metres relay. The above link was an example of how the name space should look, not where it should have been created. Just create templates at whatever you want to name them with Template: as a prefix. Collapsible tables[edit]

Hello. Wikipedia's Manual of Style says we shouldn't set tables as initially collapsed: the relevant section is at MOS:COLLAPSE. Please stop doing it. Also, you've been removing sortability from some of the international goals tables e.g. at Nicklas Bendtner, which isn't helpful. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 10:31, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On principle, we shouldn't be setting up articles with information hidden from the reader. Also, the MoS section says that there are some users who for technical reasons can't show content that starts off hidden, so we'd be preventing those users from seeing the hidden content at all.
Another thing: you've been removing all the formatting, the source(s) for the table, date of last update, informative notes etc, just to add the collapsed thing – see your edit to Robert Lewandowski – so your edits would all have to be fixed to restore that stuff even if the collapsing was OK. Struway2 (talk) 10:46, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You're missing the point. If you want the Manual of Style changed, then go to the talk page Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style and make your suggestion there. What we can't do is just override the community's decision and make the content less accessible for the readers just because an individual editor, in their personal opinion, thinks it looks better. Struway2 (talk) 10:54, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It has nothing to do with what you, personally think looks best or with what I, personally think looks best. It has to do with how readers should be able to access the content of articles. Tables should not be set to collapse on loading. If you want that changed, propose a change at the MoS page. Otherwise, please stop disrupting Wikipedia by persistently changing away from the MoS Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 11:03, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia has consensus, not democracy. Consensus reflects what's been agreed by the community in discussions in the past, and is set out in the Manual of Style. You want it changed, you propose a change there and get people to agree with it. Then, feel free to make your changes again. As to why I'm not going round changing pre-existing collapsed tables, I should hhave thought that was obvious: I'm going round restoring the dozens of articles that someone's just changed away from how they're supposed to be. A tag has been placed on Onze Mondial European Footballer of the Year) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

This is clearly supposed to be in the template space but the template already exists (and looks exactly like this one)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Stats in football players' infoboxes[edit]

Hello, I'm Jaellee. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to David Alaba were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, --Jaellee (talk) 11:06, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Krzysztof Glowacki[edit]

MOS:BOXING/RECORD states;

"While upcoming fights may be added, speculative or potential fights without a confirmed date—not just a month—absolutely must not be added, per WP:NOTRUMOUR; they can instead be mentioned using prose in the Professional career section above. Fight records can be time-consuming to create, therefore they are not essential if an article is only in its early stages, or if a boxer is not particularly notable. However, a complete fight record is necessary for good article or featured article status."

News that the WBO are set to order the fight is not confirmation of a fight. Both parties involved must have signed a contract and the fight officially announced before being added to the record table. Per the manual of style quoted above, I’m reverting your edit. Please follow the guidelines and do not add fights until they are confirmed. Thanks. — 2.O.Boxing 08:45, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Eemiratess, I edited the article Cao Yuan. I noticed that one footer is "odd" in comparison to the other ones because of a recent change by you. What is your motivation for changing those footers? I think that the previous versions in blue were ok. --Kallichore (talk) 08:50, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would also like an explanation for the change in these footers. Adding the rings is one thing, but turning them gold makes them a bit off-putting, especially when it's not all of them. By the looks of it, you changed 300-400 footers unilaterally; it would be very tedious for someone to go back through and restore them all to blue. This feels like something that should have been discussed somewhere and a consensus made. If a consensus was made somewhere, please identify the conversation. This also looks strange to me and I see no discussion on why it was done. lukini (talk | contribs) 19:50, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When you add a div col template to create columns, please add {{div col end}} at the end of the list, like this. Without it, there is an unclosed tag, which can cause problems when the page is rendered. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:31, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Ballon d'Or striker of the year, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

This should not be on mainspace, this should be on template space, I am moving it to the draft. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 13:20, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
