Changes in religious status re WP:BLP[edit]

The Administators' incidents notice board has stated that many of your edits concerning religious status are are not in accordance with WP:BLP policy and you may be blocked if you continued to make these changes. It was also suggested that you not to continuously blank your talk page, showing good will towards other editors in the resolution process. You have continued to make religious status edits, [1] engaging in edit wars over the same questions. Please desist from controverting Wikipedia guidelines. Span (talk) 22:19, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Administators' incidents notice board has stated that adding categories are not in accordance with WP:BLP policy. Did I add any new category without reliable reference? NO, I did not. Did I add any new category on Gloria Estefan page? NO, I did not. So what is the problem here? And BTW on Johnathon Schaech page there are sources that claim he is Catholic, so who's edits now are not in accordance with BLP policy. --Eversman (talk) 07:44, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned on the Pierce Brosnan talk page, BLP Categories, lists and navigation templates states that we should mention personal faith or orientation only when "the subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to his notable activities or public life". In "regard for the subject's privacy" references to his beliefs should be removed. BLP says they should be "removed immediately and without waiting for discussion". This holds for any and all BLPs. This is the problem as discussed on the incidents board. Span (talk) 03:55, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article on Johnathon Schaech says he was Catholic as a child. That has no bearing on adult belief or practice which is mentioned nowhere an is not relevant, as above. Span (talk) 03:58, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Eversman. I am referring to your addition of a Roman Catholic category to Johnathon Schaech on the basis of your addition that he was "Raised as a Catholic" (through childhood). Yes, the source you added on October 8th is more specific as to his practice as an adult. Span (talk) 00:20, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Freiberger Molitvenik.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Freiberger Molitvenik.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:07, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfDs[edit]

Hi. As you just participated in discussions on a closely related topic (also a current AfD re a Jewish list), which may raise some of the same issues, I'm simply mentioning that the following are currently ongoing: AfDs re lists of Jewish Nobel laureates, entertainers, inventors, actors, cartoonists, and heavy metal musicians. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Luciano Moše Prelević requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Empire3131 (talk) 19:41, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grigori Perelman[edit]

You've reverted my edits twice and one user:Dv.dina's edit. The correct names are Lubov and Rukshin. And TDT is wrong when it calls Lubov Ludmila. User:Dv.dina presented a link confirming "Lubov". Did you read his edit summary?. Before doing my edits, I checked names various ways including googling (Lubov, Rukshin). You may google Latin names. I did it too, of course. You seem to revert without any considering.--Sergei (talk) 22:56, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The source that you or your friend have provided can hardly be characterized as a reliable source by Wiki standards, it looks like a blog. Provide reliable source for your claims, if you are right, you shouldnt have any problems with providing a reliable one.--Eversman (talk) 00:05, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Dv.dina is not my friend, Mr. Conspiracy Theorist. Some sources: [2], [3]. Or, even better, go to Gessen's book, search for "Lubov" (or for "Rukshin") in the search field on the left and see the results. Hope you won't revert these pieces of information any more.--Sergei (talk) 09:55, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the ANI report[edit]

I think it was better to discuss this on the article's talk page first. I will try not to let this interfere our collegial relation as editors of Wikipedia. I think you could have had some more good faith in my edits, and I hope you will in the future. Regards, --biblbroks (talk) 18:13, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eversman, I saw you undid my edit without any reason. As he was born in Slovenia, I thought it would make sense to call him Slovenian (Sulic studied in Zagreb, yes, but also in Vienna and London). I later realized his parents are Croatian, but according this article, I think he has Slovenian and Croatian citizenship (or I can't tell if državljanstvom is better translated as "nationality"). So anyway, long story short, undoing of my edit was fine, but can you please leave a reason next, either on the article's talk page or in your edit summary? Edit summaries are regardless always a good idea, and in this case, just a few words explaining why you undid my edit would have saved me about fifteen minutes of digging through Croatian and Slovene news articles. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eva Grlić, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://notapawn4u.tripod.com.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Grisha's father[edit]

Hi Eversman,

the source you've cited used outdated info. The fact had been wrong by the time the source was published (2010), and it is still wrong. I happen to know the people involved personally, and I am reluctant to post details out of respect to their privacy. You are welcome to consider this claim to be original research and continue to leave the article as is, citing the fact I know to be wrong. I believe, however, it is better to remove it to follow the spirit of WP:Living, whether you consider D.T. tabloid or not. I'm not going to revert your edit myself.

File source problem with File:Gordan Lederer.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Gordan Lederer.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Better source request for some of your uploads[edit]

Thanks for your uploads to Wikipedia. There is an issue with some of them, specifically:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the images because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the images, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image files themselves. Please update the image descriptions with URLs that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:09, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. The file File:Jean-Michel Nicollier 1.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not the primary means of visual identification as the article Jean-Michel Nicolier contains another photo of the subject.
