The Most Important Thing[edit]

We need quotes from major publications, not minor hobby websites. Get out your scrapbook of Wasp Factory reviews from the NME, Kerrang! and so forth, write down the quotes and give publication name, date and page number. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main tasks[edit]

Establishment year and reason[edit]

Lee's reason for establishing the label needs sourcing. Ideally demonstrate notability via the success of the Chaos Engine. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Young Person's Music Award[edit]

This award needs further detail. Who awarded it? Was it given to the label or to Lee personally? Cite a major magazine or newspaper mentioning the award. Who else, successful/notable, has received this award? Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further Establish notability[edit]

The Young Person's Music Award isn't, on its own, sufficient to establish notability. We need more cited sources providing evidence of other notable activity, such as the EuroRock festival stage. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Improve written style and structure[edit]

The written style is inconsistent and generally poor. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replace list of releases with list of bands[edit]

Whilst a list of releases is interesting to fans of the label, it looks like a trivia section, is dull and does nothing to establish the notability of the label. This list should be replaced with a simple statement such as "the label has released N albums and N eps" and then list the bands. Notable bands such as Swarf and Deathboy should have links to their own pages. Less notable bands should have a short subsection. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given the exceptionally strong link between The Chaos Engine and Wasp Factory Recordings, the Chaos Engine should have a longer subsection. The (now deleted) article on The Chaos Engine (band) should redirect to this subsection. This subsection should have significant cited sources, such as major music magazine reviews. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good ideas; except that per WP:SUMMARY, I think the notable bands should have at least as much, probably more, information stated here as the less notable bands. There can be a link to the notable bands' pages and also a short summary here about the band; it's OK if it repeats information that's also on the band's page. Perhaps all the information about bands should be brief, and if possible should focus on the relevance to the label: for example, in the context of a discussion about the style of music presented by this label. I'd suggest leaving this as releases, not bands. Many of Wasp Factory's important releases were compilations across several bands. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:54, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The compliations are definitely important. Maybe squish the releases section down (it takes up way too much space at the mo). I'd still like to see a short para on each band, though. Andrew Oakley (talk) 22:51, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Collection of quotes[edit]

Please place sourced quotes here, so they can be used in the article. Give the article title, publication name, publication date and (ideally but optionally) page number. Andrew Oakley (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
