Speedy deletion of Higly Filled Materials Institute[edit]

A tag has been placed on Higly Filled Materials Institute, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Copyright problem follow-up: Twin Screw Extruder[edit]

Since we do not yet have verification of permission by the processes set out at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission, this article has had to be deleted. This deletion is not necessarily permanent. If you have already sent a letter to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed by the Communications Committee. Likewise, if you have not yet sent a letter, you may certainly do so at any point, and the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed.

If you do resend your letter, please be sure that the Wikipedia article is clearly noted as well as the external source and that your e-mail address is in some way connected to that external source, so that we can verify your authority to release the material. As Wikipedia does not require proof of identity on account creation, it is essential that we receive external proof of authorization in order to ensure that we remain compliant with US Copyright law. It is also essential that we verify that copyright holders understand the extent of the release they are authorizing, in that GNU Free documentation license permits modification and reuse in any forum, even commercial publication, as long as authorship credit is maintained.

Your note[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your your note. The quickest and easiest way to verify permission for us to use this material is to have a note made here and here indicating that the material is released into public domain or under the GNU Free documentation license. (A link should be included there to the text of GFDL. There's one here.) If that page is updated to include such a link, you can simply recreate the page and place a note on the article's talk page linking to that release.

It becomes a little more complicated if that solution does not work for you. In that case, we need an e-mail to be sent to the Wikimedia Foundation verifying permission from an e-mail address connected to the publisher. Ideally, that permission should issue from dkalyon AT stevens DOT edu. (I'm not posting the e-mail address in standard formatting to prevent its being picked up here for spamming.) The e-mail needs to be sent to permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org. The subject line should include something like "Verification of permission, article Dilhan M. Kalyon". The body of the e-mail needs to contain a release based on the following: Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. The first two sentences of that release are generalized to be used for text or images. Since this is text, you would want to be specific with the second line: "I agree to publish that work under the free license GNU Free Documentation License [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GNU_Free_Documentation_License].

If other sources are also involved, the release needs to cover each page. Where it asks for a link to the WORK, you would want to include both http://personal.stevens.edu/~dkalyon/ and http://personal.stevens.edu/~dkalyon/dkalyon.publications.htm.

If you send release by e-mail, please let me know, and I will restore the articles to give the permissions process time to proceed. The article would remain blanked until the Communications Committee verifies permission, which usually takes around 5-7 days.

Having dropped all of this on you, I hate to complicate matters further, but as you are connected to the subject, I do need to point out our guidelines on working on articles that are closely connected to you. :) Please see our conflict of interest guidelines. It is possible to contribute to an article to which you are connected, if it is neutral and well sourced to prevent "original research" (a catch all phrase on Wikipedia that includes any material you may know to be true, but can't prove through previously published sources). But Wikipedians in general are highly averse to self-promotion, and in my personal opinion are sometimes overzealous in labeling material that way. Articles on people have to explain why their subjects matter in order to remain on the encyclopedia, but they must do so in a way that they do not cross the neutrality line. It's a delicate balance, and it can best be addressed by providing links to reliable sources that verify that the information in the biography is true. Given the results of a google book search, here, I suspect that can be easily done. (More potentially useful information is here.) Dr. Kalyon seems to me to easily meet our notability guidelines for academics.
