Welcome to the PCP![edit]

Thanks for joining the Pokémon Collaborative Project! We hope you have a great time editing Pokémon articles. If you have any questions about the articles, style, content, or simply what our favourite Pokémon are (our opinions vary, trust us!), leave a message on the project talk page. Cheers, and happy editing! Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Thank You![edit]

Merging[edit]

I disagree with a premise of your argument; that Wikipedia will provide an unbiased look at an elementary school for the researcher. If one looks at a typical elementary school page, one sees; 1) a stub with no useful information, 2) brief description of an agency's evaluation with a link to the website where that rating was found, 3) a puff piece written by the principal, 4) childish vandalism, or 5) some combination of the first four. So I'm not convinced. SolidPlaid 04:30, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA[edit]

Hello and thanks for submitting your RfA. Unfortunately, you have not been editing long enough for the community to trust you with the tools. You might want to withdraw at this time and try again at a later date. There is no hard and fast rule, but generally, noms with < 2500 edits and < 3 months editing time do not have successful RfA's. Hope this helps. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 09:17, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks, Dolhkerhim. If you read the very next message, though, you will see that I have already been withdrawn from the race by EVula. Thanks anyway! Flaminglawyer talk contrib 04:37, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent RfA[edit]

I'm sorry, but I've closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you've only got 100 edits on Wikipedia; while edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards that they judge RfA candidates by, there was no chance that the RfA was going to pass.

I'm sorry about this, and hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I'm confident that you could possibly run a successful RfA in the future. You may want to consider submitting yourself to Wikipedia:Editor review for feedback on where to get some good experience, and when you're ready for RfA again, there's a great Wikipedia:Admin coaching program for you to use, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! EVula // talk // // 16:42, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for your advice and decision. It'll take me a while to get enough edits put together, but I will start getting addicted and re-enter myself another day. Flaminglawyer talk contrib 02:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RFA Comments[edit]

I've left a comment at your neutral !vote, here. Regards, Rudget 13:58, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am starting a WikiPetition on shortening/splitting up the USA PATRIOT Act article. It is WAY WAY WAY too long (<150 kilobytes). Observe, especially, how long it takes to load it. For me it took approximately 1.5 minutes. Please sign *HERE*. Thank you for your support. ~~~~ 03:25, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Your signature[edit]

Flaminglawyer, please consider changing your signature. In the past there was a user (User:-Ril-) who was eventually banned for (amongst other things) having ~~~~ as his signature. Also please consider WP:SIG; it is a requirement that all editors have signatures that are not confusing. Thank you. --Deskana (talk) 22:52, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Although I am very insignificant and do not have many edits, here was -Ril-'s signature: ~~~~ ( ! | ? | * ) . He later changed it to "Victim of signature fascism" after his ArbCom case. GlobeGores (talk) 17:42, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:User Page[edit]

Well help would be nice. Basically, I just wanted to dress it up a little. I'm an activate contributer at the FF Wiki, a member of the SC and YuGiOh! Wikis. I'm primarily a YuGiOh! and StarCraft editor here though. And I participate semi-frequently in AfDs and perform large-scale edits when I feel they're needed, and have been discussed first.

Basically, I'd just like to show all that without just listing it. Ya know, just make my user page more interesting. The Clawed One 01:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any way you could do a StarCraft one like that? Oh, ad it's a minor thing, but do you know how to draw up tables? I'd like to fit my "what I'm doing" things into a table so it looks better, buyt I have no idea how to do them. The Clawed One (talk) 00:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
THAT looks perfect! Thanks very much! Any ideas for the table, though? The Clawed One (talk) 03:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, nevermind, I think I can do it. Thanks very much for this, the banner looks awesome. The Clawed One (talk) 04:06, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I copied and pasted a table from another page, so it looks fine :D. Thanks again. The Clawed One (talk) 04:13, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA[edit]

I just want to warn you that an RfA at this point is not likely to succeed. Editors expect many months of activity, and several thousand edits. They use this to make sure they have enough information to determine if you have a through knowledge of policy and th ability to remain clam under pressure. It would probably be best for you not to request an RfA at this point. If you have any questions, please ask me. Prodego talk 23:33, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't make adminship your goal, it really only a few extra buttons. In fact, if you would like see what admin tools are, you can go to a number of wikis set up for testing, and get sysop rights there, so you can try it out. Unless you have an idea for a bot, don't create one. If you do, then you should. Do note bots need to be specially registered at WP:BRFA. Prodego talk 23:51, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing your post at the help desk, I came here intending to advise you in similar fashion to Prodego. The facts of the matter are that you have zero chance of passing an RFA at the present time given your lack of experience. I encourage you to read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. Please note that, whether right or wrong, many users will not even consider a candidate with less than about 3,000 edits and 6 months experience. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 01:26, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
