Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Hello, Footballcontributor. Thanks for letting me know about the conflict of interest guidelines. I get why these rules are important. Just to clear things up, I wrote about the Draft:Footy Addicts service because I love football and think it’s a great way for people to connect and find places to play. My intention was to share information about a service that I, along with hundred of thousands people in the UK, find valuable.

If being a user places me in a position of conflict of interest, then maybe someone with no connection to football should look at the article. It’s a bit like saying if you watch YouTube, you shouldn’t write about it on Wikipedia, which seems odd to me.

I’m all for keeping things fair and following the rules. I just wanted to share something that football fans like me enjoy. Footballcontributor (talk) 12:19, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
