December 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.
While user names that are the names of organizations are not permitted, you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Foundation", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87". Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:27, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

did't know there were restrictions on the username, I'm new to wikipediaFree Yezidi Foundation (talk) 17:33, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. signed, Rosguill talk 23:49, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

So far, all of your edits have been inappropriate. If unblocked, how would your future edits be different from your prior edits? Hint: WP:COI, WP:PROMO, WP:SPAM will point you in the right direction. --Yamla (talk) 18:30, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

P.Ezdayi, I've renamed your account per your reasonable request. To be unblocked, you'll need to give us an idea of the edits you are likely to make, and how they will differ from your edits to date – just as Yamla has asked. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:37, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your understanding. We are trying to ensure that accurate information about the Free Yezidi Foundation is listed. Can you please let me know first a) is it prohibited for me to ensure FYF is accurately described on Wikipedia if I am the founder? If so, b) is it better if an unrelated third party makes sure that the information is accurate? The purpose here is not promotion, but ensuring accurate information about the Foundation, that's all. We want to be within the guidelines and rules of Wikipedia. For example, the information listed about Free Yezidi Foundation under the 'Yezidi Organisations' wikipage before I made changes, our information was not accurate, and I wanted to correct it. Aside from that, I noticed the other Yezidi organisations were also redirecting to their websites etc. This was why I did the same. Very sorry if this was forbidden and please clarify if it is. Thank you.

Wikipedia is concerned with how independent reliable sources describe your organization, not with how it describes itself. If those independent sources do not describe it accurately, you will need to take that up with the sources. It would be better if third parties edited about your organization, but you are allowed to make formal edit requests on article talk pages. Note that third parties that you ask to edit for you are no longer third parties. 331dot (talk) 20:26, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, unfortunately the specific page does not have a talk page to request edits. So any information to still make edits would really be appreciated. Aside from that I wonder when we will be unblocked to at least start writing articles on the specific justice and accountability efforts Yezidis are doing against perpetrators, who have been indicted and what cases are still ongoing. What countries the indictments take place etc and also edit articles in general about Yezidis that sometimes have misinformation on wikipedia, of course we would link the edits to accurate sources.

The talk page merely has not yet been created; if you make a request on it, that will create the talk page. 331dot (talk) 23:08, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Note that you cannot use Wikipedia to tell the world about your cause. 331dot (talk) 23:09, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
